  • Is this cheap?

About $30 cheaper than whats around australia.

    • Not really considering you can get 1tb nvme gen 3 and 4s for like $89, maybe if you really need SATA SSDs?

Depends on your needs to be fair. NVME drives are typically better value / money and more performance in almost all cases these days.

But you can't put an NVME drive and boot off it in a system that doesn't have an M2 NVME slot.

With the way the crucial MX500s have gone downhill in their specs, this is probably one of the last really good new SATA SSDs.

@iBuzz7S: Thank you, I just ordered this using your link. I missed this the other day, so very happy to be able to order this.

          • +1

@iBuzz7S: Thank you! I also missed it the first time. Cancel and reorder if you can, cause i just got it for $284.33! New record low?!

            • @Charity: no 284.03 is
              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/787264

mine came in at 286.70, i probably forgot to let the 28 degree credit card do the conversion

            • @Charity: Tried getting Customer Service to refund the difference, but they said I'd need to cancel the order and reorder it for the lower. However, can use the coupon code once, so I'd end up paying $456.10. No thanks!

      • the price dropped

    • The real deal's in the comments!

    • yeah, but that was a NVME drive not sata right? (the lexar deal?)

i need a 4TB sata that im not going to pay the world for, 300 would be good.

        • hero

        • Oh, I wish I could plus 10 you. This is exactly what I was after!! Thank you so much! I've been watching this from this deal:
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/850963

but thought my redemption expired and didn't see this come though.

It was 321 in the prior deal, with an all time low off like 284, 40 bux a a bit hard to swallow, so at a few bux more this is great!

Think this deserves its own post.

  • Hey, I need a SATA M.2 SSD 2TB 2280. Not nvme. Has anyone got any suggestions? They seem to be rare now. What is inside these? Can I break one open to get what I need?

    • +2

      /s ?

Otherwise, no you can't break this SATA SSD like an egg and expect SATA M.2 to flow out from inside.

    • Why not get a 4tb?
And no, the interface is different.
