  • Not sure how Amazon handles warranty after the 30 days return but basically you are buying at your risk if anything happened within the warranty period. This SSD comes with 5 years warranty upon checking Samsung website.

Amazon were awesome to deal with when my 2TB 980 pro died due to the widely reported firmware bug that caused the drive to lock as read only and become unusable. That was purchased from Amazon US 18 months prior to refunding (I think).
I got a full refund which almost covered the cost of a WD 4TB as a replacement.

Samsung should RMA it regardless, although they are a huge pain to deal with.

You beauty, thanks mate been waiting all year for this <3

    • Thanks a lot! Got 1.

    • Champion. Could you recommend a hestsink for the 990?

      • Just get the one from the deal post. It's the same 990 Pro but with a heatsink for ~$10 more. Price has gone up.

    • thanks, after watching:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DKLA7w9eeA
my pick would be the EVO.

however, its a bit of a hard pill to swallow considering prior prices:

also unless your copying large files daily, I dont think the pro VS EVO really matters, that said, all my other drives are PRO.

i think for this gaming drive it really wont matter too much.

  • Which type is best for the PS5 Slim? Heatsink or without?

Need a heatsink regardless I believe

Can anyone suggest a 1TB-2TB m.2 ssd deal other than the above? Doesnt need to be lightning quick but should still be good value for money.

    • What are you going to use it for?
      Do you need dram?

      • Just to game on, and store game files. Nothing else really.

        • So a lot of reading, and less writing. For sub $300 you can get a crucial P3.

But if you like, HODL. Lexar is bringing out a sub $300 deal on a 4tb m2. They may have other smaller sizes. Next week ish, give or take.

Does it have to be 2tb?

          • @lordra: Any size will do, my Mobo has 2x m.2 slots anyway so can always add-on later. If the 4tb is the best value, I will wait for the Lexar deal.

            • @wickybar: Nice! Yea, cos of the limited slots, I'd say just get the Max you can afford. Cos to upgrade later you'll be stuck with a m2 that you can't use. My two cents. 😊

@lordra: How do you know Lexar have a deal coming?

            • +1

@Sir Mikey: The Lexar rep told me!

              • @lordra: Thanks for the heads up, keen on a new SSD.

                • @giordan0: No worries mate. I'll let you guys know as soon as I know or when he posts the deal.

    • +2

@everyone,this is set to go live sometime next week. Confirmed.

I'll let you know when it does.

      • Do you know the details? 2TB, 4TB? Pricing?

        • +1

4tb Lexar, sub $300 is the claim, but that completely depends on the retailer. Currently sitting between $320-$350, so will have to wait and see on what pricing they decide on.

Guys, Metrocom is first out the door with this.

        $299. Free Shipping.

The rest of the pack will follow on Monday. I'd appreciate if everyone holds off on posting this, as I'd like to see what prices the other guys do.

        • Deal has posted, cat is now out of the bag.

  • Waiting for < $250… even 2TB

    • Plenty of options.
You can get the p3 plus 4tb for $281 on ebay at.
      2tb is cheaper too.

  • will this be good for the ally x?

    • +1

Not sure how much room is inside the Ally X, so might want to get an SSD without the heatsink.

      • thanks

  • such a good deal. Grabbed one to add in to the second slot on my asus g16.
