Our Pre-Workouts

Our Amino Z Complete Pre-Workout is our #3 seller store-wide (after our Amino Z WPI and Amino Z Creatine Monohydrate). We have formulated this product to be an adequately dosed 60 serve product, comprising of the following per serve:

  • Caffeine Anhydrous (275 mg/serve)
  • Citrulline Malate 2:1 (6 g/serve)
  • Beta-alanine (3.2 g/serve)
  • L-Tyrosine (1 g/serve)
  • Agmatine Sulphate (500 mg/serve)

As noted above, if our Complete Pre-Workout is unsuitable for you, we do have three other Pre-Workout options to choose from with this deal. I've noted their key differences below compared to our Complete Pre-Workout:

  • Amino Z High-Stim Pre-Workout - This has more Caffeine Anhydrous (350 mg/serve) and also has added Huperzine-A (100 mcg/serve) and Glycerol Monostearate (1.5 g/serve)
  • Amino Z Non-Stim Pre-Workout - This is caffeine free and also has added Huperzine-A (100 mcg/serve) and Glycerol Monostearate (1.5 g/serve)
  • Amino Z Beginners Pre-Workout - This has less Caffeine Anhydrous (150 mg/serve) and has no beta-alanine (the stuff that gives you that temporary itchy sensation).

WPI

Fruity Cereal Milk is our latest flavour in our top selling WPI range. It's 82.9% Protein, 0.9% fat and 7% carbohydrate. Soy free and naturally sweetened with thaumatin. Just as a heads up, the powder will have some very small red speckles in it from the beetroot and carrot extract which is perfectly normal.

All flavours are naturally sweetened using thaumatin and are soy-free. For the nutritional breakdown, please see below (special thanks for @Chaffix for putting this together in a prior deal):

Product Breakdown

  • 100% Australian Made in our Sydney Facility
  • Our manufacturing facility is owned by us and is a NSW Licensed Food Facility with an approved Dairy Processing license
  • For the nutritional information for each flavour, please click on the "Nutritional Info" tab. You may notice the high protein component, because this considers the contribution from the amino acids used in the formulation.
  • Naturally sweetened with thaumatin. We do not use artificial sweeteners. We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight! Our focus remains on product quality.
  • Backed by our 110% Guarantee. Try it and if you don't love it, we'll give you 110% back (in store credit) or a full refund (including delivery). As I mentioned in the video, we offer this so you can try the product risk-free. If you've opened it up to try it we're not going to make you send it back either.
  • We only use WPI in this protein - this is not a blend of other cheaper proteins (for example Whey Protein Concentrate/WPC)

    • Thanks for asking @Italianfriedrice

For the Pre-Workout offer, we have capped this off at one because it wouldn't be sustainable to offer this beyond 60 serves. You'll still get the discounted price for more than 60 serves, but just only one lot of store credit.

I hope this clarifies and thanks for your interest!

      Jay

      • Thanks for the quick reply mate!

        • No worries!

          Jay

  • I'm not a massive fan of the choccie flavour. Sweetener tastes off and the mixability is terrible. Lumps everywhere, and mouth full of powder. Coming from ON, this doesn't even come close to the flavour/dissolvability. Vanilla on the other hand was pretty good

    • Sorry to hear @Sl138

While I'm glad you like the Vanessa, please shoot us over a message about the chocolate and we can fix you up with our 110% Guarantee (refund, 110% credit or we'll send another flavour at our cost).

I appreciate you sharing the feedback and I'll pass this over to our team too.

      Jay

      • Thats all good, I've drank most of it anyways. I appreciate you taking the feedback on board though

        • All good, the offer is always there though for this and any other purchases. Thanks again for sharing @Sl138.

          Jay

  • Can I put through 2x 60 serve orders for $100 and get $50 credit still, do I need to put them in different orders or only one per customer?

Never mind, saw you answered above after I posted

    • All good @knobbs, yeah we limited this to one lot of credit per customer for the pre-workout component of this deal.

Thanks for your interest in the new deal!

      Jay

      • No worries, order placed as usual :)

        • Thanks for the new order!

          Jay

  • I have a cupboard full of pre-workout, but my inner ozbargainer says I cannpot miss this deal! What is the expiry on the pre-workout?

    • +1

😂 thanks for the interest @tranmerlance!

The best before dates are 18-24 months away, it's all pretty fresh stock we have made for this deal.

      Jay

      • Thanks mate.

        • No worries!

          Jay

  • Just noticed the Brazilian chocolate flavour.
    Any reviews?
What’s the difference between it and the other chocolate flavours?

    • +1

This one is a newer release, we launched this a couple of months ago and it has been very popular as a chocolate variation. It's a chocolate with hints of caramelised condensed milk.

      I hope this helps @SuperGreen

      Jay

      • +1

Thank you, will need to give it a try!
Love the flavour innovations, keep it up!
If I may offer a suggestion, maybe a peanut butter variety would do well.

        • No worries and thank you for the suggestion and I'll be passing this along to the team. Peanut butter has been a popular suggestion and it is on our list. We're looking into options around this currently, but no confirmed release dates as of yet I'm afraid.

          Thanks again @SuperGreen!

          Jay

    • +1

Man, is my favorite chocolate-like whey so far.

I'm actually keen to get a bit more, I bought 5kgs last time but only one kg of the BR choc and its already gone :sad

      • Glad you liked it @guieloi and I'll share this with Chiara and the team :)

        Jay

  • Good one, and thanks for advertising the nutritional info. In the past I did not pay detailed attention and bought Aussie choc malt, not realising it had way less protein than the other flavours. I won't be making the same mistake. Not sure why this flavour can't be made with higher protein levels, it doesn't really taste better than the other flavours for the sacrifice of protein.

    • Thanks for the feedback @acersaurus

Yeah the ACM has been a debated flavour for us. It's one of our very top flavours because many of our customers love the flavour. But it does come with additional carbs from the malt component. The malt makes it taste the way it does and as soon as you remove the malt component, you get a flavour profile similar to our original ACM flavour (which was relatively horrible). While we have been trying to get a malt flavour without the malt component, we haven't yet had any luck with this one.

I will be taking note of your feedback however, always willing to take this on board and I will share this with the team.

      Jay

      • Fair enough, your choc mint is the best tasting protein powder I've ever had - obviously quite subjective.

        • Thanks @acersaurus and I'll be sure to share this feedback internally too.

          Jay

      • +1

Don't change it! I love it and it helps me get my carbs in.

        • Thanks @Pub Envelope - I'll also take note of your feedback here.

There is a real possibility that if we are able to reduce the malt/carb component, we likely will release a different variation just on the basis of how popular this flavour is. Anyway, we have no short-term plans of changes just because we have no viable alternatives at present.

          Jay

  • Can people let me know if you use this (or other pre-workout) and actually find it worthwhile? How long before a workout are you meant to consume it?

I am also wary of having caffeine in the afternoon, when I normally workout. I am considering giving this a go (with the 110% guarantee) but would appreciate any reflections before I commit.

    • I use it during a workout rather than all at once beforehand, otherwise about 10-15 minutes before your workout is the general advice. Seems to keep me going for an hour or two without running out of steam. I don't lift heavy any more but do higher rep counts. Haven't noticed a caffeine buzz at all but YMMV.

    • Just have coffee or creatine. Creatine is well documented to assist with hypertrophy and recovery.
Pre workouts are pretty meh. Even protein powder isn't needed unless you are bulking. Eating a good source of protein within an hour after your workout is best. I use protein powder when I don't have time after my work out or mix it up with oats.

    • There are no high quality studies showing long term muscle or strength gains with pre-workout but I still take it for the gym bro culture. So no need to take it.

    • +2

@drillvoice also to jump in here, all valid points raised above. I will preface my comments here as being the owner of the brand so I am obviously biased, but I also feel that it's more important to be honest and build trust in our brand, rather than trying to make a quick buck through a sale.

I would suggest that protein and creatine (monohydrate) should generally be the priorities in terms of supplementation. There is a lot more research behind these products relative to pre-workout.

Pre workout is an extremely popular product frankly because you feel the impact of the stimulant and people love it (I am no exception personally). Speaking strictly in relation to caffeine/stimulant, it is an alternative to something like coffee for example. Caffeine has been shown to enhance exercise performance, particularly with fatigue perception and mood.

There are some other ingredients in there that have some research in terms of performance which we have cited on the product page (in the Q&A section). For example, Beta-alanine and citrulline malate. Despite this, I would argue that if you were to choose between supplements, protein and creatine would still take priority over a pre-workout.

Coffee for caffeine intake will generally be a cheaper alternative to pre-workout when making it yourself (probably not when buying one!). Also worth noting, coffee being a naturally derived product and less processed is arguably overall healthier too.

Pre-workout is a formulated product more specifically for exercise performance. The feedback we have received is that it can be more convenient and some people prefer the taste of a pre-workout over coffee.

Ultimately I think it comes down to your personal preferences. Frankly many people don't find value in a pre-workout, and many do too. You can always try it out and if you're unhappy you can hit us up for the 110% Guarantee that we offer.

      Anyway I hope this helps.

      Jay

      • Thanks Jay, that's the plan. I've ended up ordering the no-stim so we'll see if I feel any benefit without the caffeine. Or possibly I could try ordering the caffeine version for the rare occasion that I want to do a morning workout.

        • No worries, thanks for the order!

          Jay

  • +2

Any chance you could remove this req (must order the main Pre-Workout deal to qualify)?
I ran out of protein and I want to order 5kg, but I can't have pre workout, whenever I tried any, it would make jittery, increase heart rate, then energy crash in 2-3 hours.

    • Thanks for asking @ozbozb

For this deal I'm afraid we cannot change this over to a WPI offer. The big promo we ran last month is prohibitive for us to run again so soon, it's just not sustainable for us to be running frequent WPI offers. Also importantly, we have not prepared adequately for a dedicated WPI promotion so we could not offer this at scale.

Having just run the WPI promo last month, we were only going to feature the Pre-Workout, but decided to add on the WPI and creatine as an optional extra.

You may qualify for something else we have running presently, but please send over a direct message and Vanessa can look after you.

Thanks again, I appreciate you asking the question and I hope this provides some insight.

      Jay

  • Does everyone here mix with the amount of water as directed?

I only use roughly 250ml water and find it overly sweet.

    • @dajackal just for some insight on this, the legislation requires us to specify how much water to add based on a maximum of 32mg of caffeine per 100mL. So that's why you'll see quite high suggestions of liquid to be added for a single serve.

I'll take note on the feedback on the sweetness and pass this along to our team though.

      Jay

      • Yep I'm aware of that from an earlier post you made.

But mixing with that much water just to make it less sickly sweet means I'll need a toilet break halfway through my session…hehe. first world problems I guess

        • Yeah understood, I'll share this along with the team.

You wouldn't happen to have a batch number that you can share do you? This will be really helpful so we can look further into the sweetness. Thanks in advance.

          Jay

    • +1

I do 150ml of water + 150ml of oat milk (a creamy/barista type). For me it gives the best flavour. Not a fan of all water haha!

  • +1

Is Fruity Cereal Milk a new one? Is it like Fruit Loops milk? How did i miss this last time!!!

    • Yep that's our new one @doddsyv1 - it was only just released in the last week :)

      Jay

  • Actually an insane deal tbh
Look forward to the next time!

    • Thanks for the support @Cachew!

      Jay

  • I have never used pre workout, what is the one I should buy? I have no issues with Caffeine.

Also, Any less messy way of managing Casein? That thing floats in the air! and it is so messy trying to get the scoop out of the bag.

    • +2

      Thanks for asking @Colombian

The Complete Pre is our most popular pre-workout with 275mg of caffeine, which is a fairly moderate amount in this category. Do note that this will contain beta alanine which can give you a temporary tingling sensation shortly after consumption (best to be aware of this as it does catch some people by surprise if you haven't had a pre-workout before).

The casein powder is pretty fine due to the raw material we use and it can get a bit messy. I'm afraid I don't particularly have a great solution for this but I will pass this to our team so we can look to improve the product further. Thanks for the feedback on this and sorry I don't have a good solution on this particular powder.

      Jay

  • Incredible deal cheers, will be good for me for those rare days (once a fortnight/month) when i need a good pick-me-up, more potent that way too.

Hoping expiry is long on this batch also!

    • +1

Thanks @ULT! I appreciate the support of the deal.

The best before dates will be quite a while away, 18-24 months. It's all fresh stock.

      Thanks again.

I'm stocked up right now but Fruity Cereal Milk sounds great. My recommendations are Crème Caramel, Melon Milk and Matcha.

    • +1

Thanks for the support and feedback @rilebags. Glad you've liked those other flavours and I'll pass this along.

      Jay

  • So glad I held out for this deal!! Thanks Jay and Vanessa!

    • Thanks for the ongoing support @itsmehuey!

      Jay

      • More than happy to when not only are your supps amazing but so are the people who work there!

Just placed a massive order of WPI and can’t wait to try the pre.

        • +1

You're very kind, I'll be sharing this with the team and they will be blown away. Thanks for that new order @itsmehuey!

          Jay

  • Is there a disadvantage in taking your high-stim pre at say a 0.8 serving vs just a serving of your complete pre to achieve similar caffeine amounts, etc?

Mainly want to know if there's any negatives of the high-stim vs complete as you noted the key differences as only add ons for the high-stim.

    Thanks!

    • +1

      Thanks for asking @TomLu

The main thing would be the dosage of the other ingredients. So if you go for 0.8 of the high stim, you're only going to receive 0.8 of the amount of things like the beta alanine or citrulline malate, for example. These have been dosed appropriately for a single serve.

I hope this answers your question.

      Jay

  • Thanks Op, got one

    • Thanks for the order @dresh!

      Jay

  • That cereal flavour sounds amazing. Reasonable amount of protein too

    • Thanks @PleasureMachine! Appreciate the support as always.

      Jay

  • +1

Any deals on the WPI or Plant-based Whey JAY???

    • Not specifically this time round @notewar

You can get the deal on the WPI if you purchase the Pre-Workout also, just not in isolation.

We do plan on running another WPI focussed deal down the track, but it won't be in the coming weeks.

      Thanks for your interest!

      Jay

  • Go Jay! Keep up the good work mate.

I used to be one of the early adopters of Amino Z, and got to meet Ronnie Coleman at Mortdale ages ago, was great!

    • Thanks @mungas! Wow that's going back a while now, back when he launched his own range of supps into Australia. Thanks for your support over the years!

      Jay

  • There are quite a few variations of the chocolate flavours, does anyone happen to know the difference in taste between them? Also has anyone who have used this before found any issues with their stomach or digestion afterwards? That's been a my main hesitation with protein powders.

    • +1

@yessum we do have a few choc variations. Perhaps how I can help is to provide the descriptions that our team has put together:

Chocolate: A smooth and velvety chocolate flavour with a delightful sweetness and prominent cocoa notes.
Smooth Milk Chocolate: A milder, lighter chocolate taste and sweetness compared to our regular chocolate flavour.
Brazilian Chocolate (Brigadeiro): A velvety taste of chocolate with hints of caramelised condensed milk.

They do all taste distinctively different I must note. I've excluded all the other chocolates that have other key flavour notes which are more obviously different (eg. Choc Mint, Choc Banana etc).

I hope this is of help.

      Jay

      • Very helpful, thank you!

        • No worries, thanks for your interest!

          Jay

  • Thanks, ordered 10 bags <3

    • Wow, thanks for the support of our brand @Dahje!

      Jay

  • Is Caffeine Anhydrous the same as regular caffeine like from a coffee?

    • Thanks for asking @cheekymonkey97

While I'm no expert on the chemistry, caffeine anhydrous is a white crystalline powder which is lab derived. It can be derived from coffee, but undergoes processes to remove the water and form a very concentrated powder.

I hope this provides some insight.

      Jay

      • Hmmm, okay sounds like a no from me. Caffeine after 12pm really messes with my sleep. I'll try the non-stimulant version. Thanks!

        • +1

No worries, but yeah it's certainly a stimulant and I personally will find the same with caffeine in the afternoon. The non-stim doesn't have any caffeine in it though.

          Thanks again for your interest.

          Jay

  • Can i use my existing points to pay for the pre workout in FULL and still receive the $25 credit of points back?

    • +3

Yep you sure can @No Child Support

Your existing Z points are considered as another payment method, so this will work.

Thanks for asking and for the support!

      Jay

  • Great company and products, can highly recommend.

    • Thanks for the kind words @Jacko1235!

      Jay

  • Any idea on a rough date of expiration for unopened bags if bought now? Keen to get a bag of pre workout but won't need it for a while

Thanks for asking @Herbse. Dates should be 18-24 months away for best before as this is all fresh stock.

  • Will there be more flavour available for pre-workout sample before this deal ends?
If I am getting 1kg pre-workout +1kg WPI + multiple sample that I have not tried before, and pay it with my existing credit, does it mean I will get credited by 25+10+ 100% of the sample
Do I still need to pay for shipping for the sample if I order the above?

    • +1

Hi @wjojff, we likely won't have more pre-workout samples available before the deal ends as the team is under the pump to keep everything else in stock with this deal.

So yes, if you get the 60 serves of pre workout and 1kg of WPI you'll get $25 + $10 back in credit, even if you use existing points to purchase. You will also get 100% back of samples purchased.

If you're ordering the pre-workouts then shipping will be free for everything in your order.

      Thanks for the support!

      • I know it's a dumb question but is one scoop equal to 1 serve for the pre workout?
        Thank you in advance

        • Thanks for asking @wjojff, you are correct in that one scoop is one serve.

          Jay

  • Great deal as always thanks guys!

    • Thanks for the support @BMX221!

  • Loving your product. The table above was useful but a quick feedback would to do it in terms of per serve (scoop) as that helps more with comparison.

    • Thanks for the support and also the feedback @TheFIREnanceGuy.

Just for reference, there is a per-serve comparison on the product page (navigate over to the Nutritional Info tab and you can select the Per Serve comparison option). Would this be helpful?

I can post that here, just concerned it's going to be information overload!

  • In a recent order I got a sample that came in a bottle - tried to find them on the store but couldn’t, are they available to buy or just as samples? (figured they’d be super useful to have the gym bag in case I forget my shaker/sups/ultra convenience etc).

Also are any of the pre workouts colour free / coloured with titanium dioxide/white pigments? Have to stop my regular pre workout when getting my teeth bleached, be nice if there was one I could keep using.

    • +2

      Thanks for asking @OpticalCog.

Yep we have them here. The picture doesn't show the bottles as this is something we're currently trialling out. But these all come currently in single bottles.

In terms of the pre-workouts, we don't have any colourings added in, nor titanium dioxide nor white pigments. You can see the full ingredient listing on the "Nutritional Info" tab on the product page (eg. here for the Complete Pre)

      I hope this helps.

      • Nil colours - even better thanks :). Always appreciate you taking the time to reply to comments and answer questions so quickly.

        • You're welcome!

  • Upvoted! Not buying any in this deal as I stocked up during your vegan protein sale a little while back, but can I just say….you guys make the best vegan protein I've ever tried and I've tried a lot!! Super smooth texture and the flavours are great. Will you be adding more flavours to the vegan range? Love your work Amino Z team!

    • Thanks for the ongoing support and the very kind words @Adamantine! Chiara and the team will be really chuffed to see this feedback which I'll be passing along.

Yes, we 100% plan to be adding more flavours to the Vegan Protein range. Which ones and when I cannot confirm exactly as the flavour development process can take many months.

      Thanks again!

  • Damn, I think I screwed myself out of this bargain because i signed up for a trial membership before even reading the fine print…

    Does one cancel and re-order?

    • If you need to fix anything up please feel free to shoot over a direct message to Vanessa with your order number. She can look into your specific order and will be able to look after you.

Thanks for supporting the deal @KiwiKen!

      • Thanks Jay, will do.

  • Thank you for the deal, Jay. Trying the Fruity Cereal Milk this time and looking forward to it. I guess that the inspiration is from the fruity pebbles cereal in USA. I noticed a couple of US protein companies have it in their flavour range. I did try the fruity pebbles cereal when I was in America a week ago and it is similar but not the same as I remember fruit loops tasting as a kid. Probably better than fruit loops.

Can we expect Cocoa pebbles next?

Keep up the great work and keep the new and exciting flavours coming!

    • Thanks @squeeb!

Yep we had a few inspirations for the fruity cereal milk flavour and wanted to do something a little different to what we could find here in Australia. But essentially we were looking for that tasty milk that's left over once all the cereal is gone.

Cocoa pebbles is a great suggestion and I will pass this along to the team. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks again for the ongoing support!
