I love this watch.

I don't have this cw, and it's the cheapest I've seen it so I have to cop.

Fun colourway, surprised we haven’t seen the price for this series dip further :(

What is it you love about this watch? I confess, digi-ana doesn't really appeal to me so I'm curious what others like about it.

I think it's fun. I like ana-digi because my grandpa left me a vintage Citizen ana-digi and bullhead, and a couple Seiko divers. I get that some people don't like ana-digi, but I own a lot of them because I like them.

      Are you kidding?

Where else can you get a titanium, solar powered, radio controlled, sapphire crystal watch with world timer and alarm function for $240 delivered?

This is the daily I'm rocking at the moment -

      • I'll admit that one looks very nice. Is it a JDM version? I'm not seeing them readily available in AU.

        • Indeed it is
There are two variants - the AER (European market) and AJF (Japanese market), but besides the packaging and instruction manual, they're exactly the same watch

          • @inasero: I did a quick search and they’re now mostly hovering around the $300 mark brand new, possibly cheaper with more digging. If you’re prepared to accept a used one there are several on Japanese auction sites for peanuts - I searched Buyee.jp and saw lots of them in varying conditions from $1 to $25 + shipping. I might do some more intensive searching later and you may end up converting me after all!

            • @Chazzozz: Yeah my Lineage (LCW-M100TSE-1AJF) was $248.98 free postage + $24.90 GST - $5 voucher so $269.

Maybe keep an eye out for those 15% off promos on ebay, but I can thoroughly recomment the seller japan_watch_shop

So not that cheap but not bad considering the specs!

            • @Chazzozz: Bought mine on eBay recently via this seller

              https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/386839622951?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

The exchange rate has since gone up slightly

              • @inasero: ~A$240 is pretty good!

                • @G-rig: I'm going to check out the used options at Buyee.jp when I have more time. I don't mind the idea of a secondhand watch in good condition to dip my toe into the waters. If it turns out to be good then I'll shop around for a new one.

A question, though: do you update the time with the radio signal? Or do you use one those phone apps that simulates the signal for you? I'm thinking that with my location in TAS the chances of picking up the signal from either Japan or China are rather slim.

                  • @Chazzozz: Not a bad idea and save some money too.
Would be good to work out the deal with those Japanese sites one day.

Nope just set it as usual, the atomic clock is useless for most of Aus. You need Bluetooth for sync to the Casio watches app, like with some Oceanus and G-Shocks. Then it's a set and forget, good when they sync every 6h. Easier to change settings or Force a sync too.

                  • @Chazzozz: It works intermittently in QLD apparently, but in southern states no chance. I used the JJY app but turned off autosync afterwards to preserve battery life (I don't need accuracy to the exact second anyway). You can force a manual sync anytime, or set the time on the watch yourself

                    • @inasero: Maybe FNQ, and depends what watch etc.

That app is counter intuitive and having to do it manually takes longer than just adjusting the seconds every few days/weeks/months. Can't stand the high pitched noise and I've never got it to work anyway.

Yes, it's easier to just set it and quartz keeps better time than almost all autos anyway.

Don't worry about battery, this one has solar as well!

                      • @G-rig: Mines always worked perfectly, just gotta hold the watch right next to the phone speaker and leave it there for a few minutes.

What are some other watches you own or recommend?

                        • @inasero: I got the android app, seems like it doesn't work unless I'm missing something.

Did it take 30s or 6 min?

                          • @G-rig: I'd say more like 2-3 minutes, in a quiet location

                            • @inasero: I could reset the seconds quicker

      • I might have to get me one of those

      • I got that one, ticks all the boxes (except Bluetooth).
Very light and comfy, hardly notice it on. Some people like a heavier feel but I think they are great.

        • +1

This is my first titanium watch I've owned and yeah I can see how the lightness might be off putting to people who like to be reassured by the quality a heavy watch suggests, but man is it so comfortable - feels like I'm not wearing anything at all!

          • @inasero: Yeah but also nice not always wearing heavy watches. It's super cool how easy it is to change links with the little tool too (press it in and they pop undone).

    • I'm with you there. This looks clunky as hell.

  • +6

    That looks mint.

  • cw?

    • +1

      cw = colourway

  • This is the way!
Such a beautiful vintage piece <3
