Just want to clarify is it 260GB or 170GB? The site doesn't mention anything about 260GB.

    • +1

It’s 170GB on activation. OP potentially got themselves confused with the $300 SIM which has 260GB instead

      • +2

Thank you @ BargainsGrabber : Updated now.

        • Hi…can you please provide link to before mention $3 optus sim card. I can't locate it.

          • @Buttocks: Select "Choose an option" under "Limit of 1 per customer" on the page.

SIM CARD VALIDITY : JULY 2025

Will the SIM card work after July 2025 if it is activated before July 2025?

    • Yes, 1 year valitidity from the date of activation. Thank you

      • +2

Can I activate it in Sept?

        • +5

Sept 2024, yes. Sept 2025, no.

    • Hey lychnis, yes.
I think your question was misunderstood
Validity is just how long it can sit unactivated.
Once you've activated it (before July 2025) it will last for as long as you're using it.

  • How do people use these deals to recharge an existing Boost service?

    • +3

Change providers for a few minutes first on a $2 sim

        • "Recharge required to activate at an additional cost"

Better if you find one that doesn't require a recharge.

That one will only work if you pay a recharge fee as well as the $2 for the sim.

      • You just need to port to another network for a few minutes to be considered a new boost customer? not days?

    • +2

You have to port out to another Telco then port back I've done it with a $ 5 aldi sim then back 2 days later to boost .

      • Boost to Aldi burner sim and back again is a bad idea IMHO as they are both on Telstra and it’s known to be problematic and when you are dealing with your phone number the stress isn’t worth it.

It’s so much simpler and straightforward to go via Optus/vodafone and back again. The technical process is quite different.

    • You can't 'recharge'. You are activating a new service and moving the number (can already be on Boost) onto it. Have done this like 5 times via customer service chat.

Difference is that you lose any remaining data amount on current service, which I am fine with).

I hear in some recent deals last couple of months that they are not as willing to do this anymore. Worst case port out and port back.

  • 170GB on activation for new customers. Activate by 5 Aug 24 to get Bonus data.

So how much data if activated before and after 5 Aug?

Is it 170GB + some undisclosed extra GBs before 5/8 and 170GB afterwards or 170GB in total before and fewer GBs after?

    • Call them , its easier .

    • +2

      Hi @ Pizzaguy,

Normal data is $160GB and currently Bonus data is $10 GB which may or may not be available after Aug 5, 2024. However, historically looking there is always a better data option once a existing promotion is finished but it is upto Boost mobile to extend / keep / remove bonus data after Aug 5. Hope this clears any doubts.

      Thank you

  • Does Boost have e-sim on these plans?

    • +2

Yes I have this plan from a year ago with a physical Sim and there's an option in the app to switch to esim.

    • Yes. I have e-sim. Cheers

  • +2

I thought Apple Music is no longer included?

    • +1

That is right. It is removed or being romved.

  • +2

With cashrewards, this sim comes down to the $180 from boost.

    • +3

It is hit and miss and you need wait for months to get the cash back

    • +2

That's if you are one of the lucky ones that actually gets the cashback.

    • +1

Extra condition that you have to activate within 30 days.

Buying from this deal does not limit you to needing to activate within 30 days.

      • +1

Thanks for the reminder. I would have invalidated my $50 cashback if you didn't post this

  • This issuch a good plan if you are happy with 10 gb of data per month.
Very good cap on international calls as well.
ESIM , TELSTRA NETWORK/ACCOUNT, ROAMING PACKS.
Better than other offers if you are happy with the data limits.

  • +6

    1) Boost SIM about to expire.
    2) Buy $5 SIM card from Aldi and port over, wait a day or less.
    3) Port back to the new Boost SIM card.

3rd year doing this, save so much money.

    • +1

I don't even port out. Just chat with customer support on their website. They activate the new sim + move your existing number onto it.

      Save the $5.

      • +1

Lots of reports that this doesn't work anymore

    • Can’t you just use a $2 Telstra sim to port over? Or does it have to be with a different network?

      • +1

I believe it has to be different network. Have not tried what Hippo2s suggested, might try that next time.

        • Customer support worked for me this time last year, mixed reports here on whether it still works. Worth a shot.

          • +1

@Turffe: My friend tried and didn't work, just kept telling him to "recharge".
He ended up porting to Aldimobile and back, took ~2 hours.

    • I actually don’t even bother to use physical sims anymore. Tried tangerine esim free for 2 months and then activated this pack few months ago. 2 months profit and it was like 165$ after cashback lol. Just check if any other providers are running any promotions or not. Thanks

  • Officework price match?

    • +2

Should be able to, would bring it down to $177.6

      • +1

I just did a price match to CELLPOINT.

        • +1

@flylin Can you please upload a receipt?

        • did you do it via phone or in-store? if in-store, which state please?

          • @TantrumToBlind: @TantrumToBlind @flylin I'm not having any luck at 2 Sydney stores

            • @Logortz: Update. Ring them up and price match over the phone. Worked for me and C&C at any store I chose with stock.

              • @Logortz: VIC in store. Why are they not accepting it? Guess I got lucky, manager spent a long time thinking about it lol.

      • Just called them up $178.12 in total, guessing "credit card fees". I can't find a better deal than this atm

        Boost: 170GB for $178.12 (5% price beat Officeworks) + $5 ALDI sim
        ($15.26/month 14.16GB)

Is there any way to switch as a current account holder for free?

    • Was able to price match over phone and got it delivered for around $178

  • +2

What's a point of 170gb data when you have wifi at home using NBN and you don't have enough time outside home when you can use rest of the data.

These guys justify highest cost by giving more data but there will be a point when more data won't make any sense.. !

    • -1

Streaming Netflix without wifi can use quite a lot of data

    • +2

      spend more time outside?

    • I’m with you. We’re on this boost deal currently, but at the end of our current run, switching to Aldi $119 super pack. 60gb = 5gb/month. More than enough when we have NBN at home.

      https://www.aldimobile.com.au/blogs/plan-details/119-super-p…

(No international calls and no 5G, but we can live without those).

      • Use WOW mobile and do WOW shopping one week .
You will get 10% off on WOW SHOPING
once a month which covers your mobile bill if you plan your shopping.
You can buy discounted WOW gift card for more savings
        Telstra network
        No international calls
        120 gb data
        E sim

    • All I know is my boost app is telling me Ive used 122gb of 260gb over the past 12 months….. Atleast I will have a better idea of my usage going ahead.

      • just be aware that Boost mobile doesn't have rollover on the long term (12 month) plans - so use it or lose it!

  • Hi rep, what’s the expiry date on $300 sim?

  • -4

OP do some decent deals on actual recharge vouchers and you will have at least 10,000 sales from this site

  • +1

    $0.50 cheaper here:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/844432

Ordered from them and delivery was pretty quick

  • Have bought from these guys before. Bought 2 again this year.

  • Cashrewards ends up cheaper for me, don’t mind the wait but also I can claim more tax back as I use my mobile for work also.

    • -2

You cannot claim under new rules as it's already included I think

  • So sim expires 31st of July?

  • Hi…can you please provide link to before mention $3 optus sim card. I can't locate it.

    • @Buttocks Grab a Vodafone 40GB sim for $8.75 and spend the month with them before porting back to Boost.

Depending on your area you might be pleasantly surprised by the Vodafone network - if you find it subpar and want to port back to Boost before the month is up you haven't lost much money.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/355490683682?var=624644022610

  • Will Boost have 5G for the forseeable future?
Or is this SIM 4G only?

    • +1

Boost has had 5G for a while now.

    • @congo 5G access is included but (not that it probably makes much difference to most) download speed is capped to 150Mps.

      • Thank you

  • Ok contrary to information above…first need to add sim to shopping cart then you can select optus or Vodafone sim for $3.

  • When is the expiry to activate/port to the $3 optus or Vodafone's sim?

  • I am currently with boost and want to churn out and then churn back in for using the above 12 Months 170GB Data Boost Mobile Sim Card , can I convert my existing sim(boost)into eSIM then buy another eSIM from another provider and then churn back into boost again without having the hassle of taking the physical sim out ?

    • You can skip the first step (converting your Boost sim into eSim). Just port directly to an eSim from another provider.

Either way you will still need to take your current physical sim out and pop the new sim in.

  • i'm currently using this sim since last year oct as primary sim. do i need to buy a new sim card and assign current number to this sim? is there anyway to get 170GB again?

  • If I am with Telstra, can I still use this deal same for the cash rewards cashback? I noticed someone mentioned you can't use Telstra to port to and back. But if I am already with Telstra prepaid?

  • Still waiting on order to ship! When should we expect delivery? Thanks

    • +1

      Hi @GeoK,

Your order has been shipped. We have shipped quite a few orders already. You should get your tracking details in the next 24 hrs. Please keep an eye out for an email with tracking details.

Thank you for shopping with us.

  • I can’t find the SIM packs mentioned in this posting: Vodafone $30 Sim Pack for $3 OR Optus $30 Sim Pack for $3)

Could you please post direct links to these two SIM packs?

    • It's a dropdown menu on the product page for this deal. Below where it says 'Limit of 1 per customer'.

      • Thank you @ Turfee for your kind help. Much appreciated.
        Cellpoint

      • Thanks @Turffe - that menu wasn’t visible when I looked at the page on a mobile phone. I tried looking at it again on a tablet and it was there so thanks for your help. @cellpoint - it would be good if you could fix this so this option displays for customers who are using a mobile phone to access your website.

  • @cellpoint,
    Hi
    on your website it says
    Music Streaming
    Stream Apple Music data free
I checked with boost and it's not correct. Can you please confirm or remove it from your advertisement?

  • Still also waiting for it to ship, I've purchased one Sunday with express post.
However, there had been no progress or updates to my delivery status at all.

    • Me neither. Faster when i used other stores or ebay. Doesnt say out of stock so hope its legit.

  • Gotten notification that is has now shipped

  • @cellpoint Do you have an end date for this sale/price? The bonus data doesn't matter to me (don't need it) but considering purchasing in a few weeks, a little closer to expiry of my current plan. Do you expect to have this price (and stock) mid to late July?

  • has anyone received their order yet? all i got was an email saying order complete. no tracking info

  • Yes I got tracking in AusPost from weekend a few days after order completion. Due to receive today according to AusPost.

    • thanks for reply, ive emailed multiple times with no reply, ordered on the 16th.

    • Austpost delayed over weekend and finally received on Monday afternoon.

Are you 100% sure the SIM CARD VALIDITY is JULY 2025?

I just saw that Boost update will be discounting the $230 for 160GB in 22 October 2024.

So I'd like to buy another one, to use next year in June probably?

    • +1

Hi, I just received my order of 3 units from Cellpoint and they all have expiry as 2025-01-06, so everyone BEWARE!
I have raised a query with them as they are not suitable for my needs with expiry that early.
Will give them a reasonable time to resolve the issue and then report to Mods?

      • After repeated attempts to contact seller via email and WhatsApp with no response, I've now filed disputes with PayPal and notified the Mods who've put a warning on this listing about SIM expiry dates.

        • My expiry shows Jul 2025 so lucky me.
