Hire someone with marketing experience that can strong together a proper title description.

Retrofit Your Existing Roller Blinds or Curtains DIY or We Can Install

    Retrofit with what?
    How much?
    Where?

Alternatively people can get retrofit cord pulling motors from AliExpress for about $35 each delivered. I picked up two last sale and they are battery powered as well. Normal price is around $65 which is still a fraction of your price.

Ok looks like Ozbargain is blocking my AliExpress links for some reason. Too painful to work out how to post.

          • @starbearer: We have had a look at these and this is not the direction we are going, There is a lot of cheap things out there. This still requires your chain and a big block mounted on your wall / windows. Our motors are inside the tube and eliminating the chains.

            • @Into Blinds: So out odf interest as I'm not about to get on your spam list by contacting your sales team - do you have to cut down existing roller blind rollers to fit your automation??

          • +3

@starbearer: Yep that's it. Mine was without the solar panel and is the wifi version. About $35aud. Fine for a budget option and great they are battery or USB C powered.

It's a different league from the integrated blind motors but $35 vs $200…

            • @0 0 0: yea makes sense. If most folks are happy with their blinds, this just makes them "smarter" without having to replace them with an integrated motor one.

        • You are posting affiliate links, automatically blocked by the system.

Here is the clean link https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005005923170447.html of what you posted.

    • The two that your purchased, hows your experience with them? do you have a link & do you recommend them or after your experience, would you get something else you had your eye on?

      • +1

I have two non battery ones from Kogan that are loud but powerful and work well. They have good mounting brackets.

The AliExpress ones are super quiet, battery powered, slow but were half the price when on sale. I can't post AliExpress links because Ozbargain censors them automatically believing they're affiliate or spam links trying to demonetise the website.

  • Is DIY Vic only also?

    • DIY Aus Wide but we can only assist in installation in Melbourne only

This seems pretty expensive compared to the usual online options, right?

Curtain Motors can range from $600-1200
You could find some cheap and nasty motors that may be less than our motor cost.
But usually from overseas sites like Aliexpress with no support or testing.
We have installed thousands of these and people are loving them

  • Do you have any more info on the curtain motors DYI?
Is it via a remote and app?

    • +1

You can have a remote control and can be operated through phone and even through Alexa and google.
if you would like DIY option please pm us.

      • I've just sent a DM as I am looking for more info on the DIY curtain motors too.

  • Can you provide a link to the Roller Blind DIY blind motor?

    • The DIY site with product is down atm, but if you would like to purchase or get more info please DM us

  • is the install fee per motor or the cost of doing multiple such as four

    • Curtain Motors DIY $200 per motor (normally $800-1200 per motor ) or installed by us ( Melbourne Only $275 incl motor & install per motor )
Roller Blind Motors DIY $150 per motor (normally $250-450 per motor ) or installed by us ( Melbourne Only $200 incl motor & install per motor )

      • Are these motors hardwired?

  • What make/model are your roller blind motors? I already have a bunch of Somfy Sonnesse 30 motors and would like to purchase an additional one.

    • Our motors are our own brand that we have sourced and used on thousands of our customers.
If you do need another Somfy motor we can provide that also but will be more expensive unfortunately

      • how long is the warranty?
do they make any noise when in operation?
        What is the rolling speed?

        • Good question.
          We provide 5 year warranty.
          No noise and are quiet.
          Speed can be adjusted.

  • are these zigbee or tuya motors? Are they battery operated? It would be good to get some detail without having to DM or give you a call.

    • These are our own brand, We can provide specs via our website withing the week and I can notify you.

      • Why didn't you just come post the deal when your product page is working and you have all the spcs instead of being vague

        • Originally this was for us to install in Melbourne.
Some people asked for DIY supply, we then changed that.
Usually our guys come to the house to sort it all out.
