          • @bohn: Thank you so much I will try it ! Thanks again

          • @bohn: Wish I saw this sooner.
I use sniip to bpay rego :( had to pay transaction fee for sniip.

  • Is it worth keeping it after 12 months for extra 40K points and long term pts earning? This or amex qantas card?

    • You'll be paying 425 for 40k points. You're much better off cancelling as soon as you've confirmed your points and cashback. So that you'll be able to get this deal in the next 18 months after cancelling.

      • Only 12 months with ANZ

  • After a huge back and forth on the application process and ANZ wanting a signed letter from my employer defining my parental leave, I was finally approved.

BUT…i need to go into a branch to prove my identify before they can issue me anything?

Ummm…is this normal? is ANZ usually this difficult to deal with?

    • YMMV, see below comment from hunter4vr.

I never had any problem with ANZ since I'm an existing customer with them. All my CC applications all got approved within 48hrs for the last 5 years or so with them. Since I already ID with them so never have to go to branch to validate.

  • Third time that I've done an application for an ANZ card and this was the smoothest, probably best out of any I've done with any bank.

Card got approved on the spot and didn't even have to submit any payslips or side business income. Last application was done in September last year, main account with ANZ as well.

    • main account with ANZ as well

well this makes it pretty easy not to have to upload payslips

      • Doesn’t explain why the other times they asked for them and the constant back and forth querying other income.

  • Anyone have this card, how long they usually credit the QFF points? Are they doing it in batch like once a month thing? I got mine about 2 weeks ago, used it right away, but still nothing showing up on my QFF account (I could see my QFF number is correct in my ANZ account)

    • I got my spend points with first statement.

Haven’t got bonus points yet although I’ve only just hit the spend.

      • ANZ pretty much withhold the bonus points until at least the 2nd month statement from my own personal experience of making the min spend even within the first week or less. So far only NAB/CITI/WBC/STG banks seem to pay out in the 1st month's statement if you manage to meet the min spend that soon.

    • They only credit your QF account few days after issued the monthly statement.

  • Hello guys.

I got some big purchases that could potentially reach 5k$ and I want to know which credit card I should sign up first. I have both nab and ANZ accounts for banking. I want to maximize my points per dollar including fees for the first year minimal spending churn. Do I pick this anz offer or sign up to the long running nab Qantas rewards signature card first?

    OFFER

90,000 bonus points with spend $3,000 on everyday purchases within the first 60 days of account opening
reduced annual card fee (from $395 to $295) for the first year.
    https://www.nab.com.au/personal/credit-cards/qantas-rewards/…

    • Well, why don't you compare between the two

      Fee
      Spend Req
      Spend Period
      Points earn / $
Other perks (insurance, lounge pass etc)

and if you are churner then sign up for both - one after the other, your choice.

    • You should sign up for AMEX first. Amex platinum if you know how to use it - the annual fee is less than the benefits even if it is $1450…..

Dining credit, travel credit, Amazon prime, 2.25 points per $ spent for 13 months….. Supplementary cardholder bonuses, extra offers, priority pass…..

Citi ready credit - another one I will try….

For Qantas card offers, check out https://www.rwrds.com.au/

  • ANZ - still the worst bank in Australia. Nothing else to contribute, just wanted to bitch about how useless they are.

    • agreed.

I signed up just for this cashback and it has been the worst experience from start to finish.

3 days after a purchase and it still hasnt appeared in my transaction list lol…

  • +1

Applied and got approved instantly. Existing ANZ home loan customer with offset account.

    • How long do you have to wait for card delivery? Is a digital card available instantly when using the ANZ APP?

      • +1

The card showed up in four days. There's no digital card available.

        • thanks!

  • Anyone know when they'll credit the bonus 90k? I completed the requirement around begining of this month, but the batch points on the 16-Jul only has the points for the usage (was expecting I'll get the bonus too)

    • +2

Usually happens after the 3 month period.

    • Hey did you receive the bonus points yet? Thanks

  • Anyone know if you've had this card for years and partner's had it as your additional cardholder, would your partner be eligible for this deal or not?

  • Not expired??? webpage still active.

  • Am I eligible for promotion if Im currently secondary card holders to my wifes this credit card

  • Is it worth paying $425 after 12 months for the extra 40000 points and then cancelling?

    • hell no. ANZ customer service is the cr@ppiest of all the banks. Plus you should churn to a new card with lower fees and higher points anyway. SIgn up for the bonus points and cancel it once the bonus points land, rinse and repeat.

      • I already have the card and just got the 90,000 points, just wondering if I should fork out $425 for the extra 40000

        • Is this your only card? How long have you had it open?

          • @vawiyoci: currently yes I've only had the card for 2 months, so will need to hang on for another 10months. Don't think it would hold me back from signing up for the Westpac qantas black soon

            • @pooks: If you're solely after points the other poster is right about closing asap and moving on to the next card (in your case westpac).
By the time next year rolls around you'll be able to re-apply again for 90k versus your current plan of forking out $425 for only 40k points which is much worse value in comparison.
Also if you cancel now and you can also try to ask for a pro-rata refund on the fee you've already paid though YMMV.

              • @vawiyoci: ahh didn't think of the pro-rata refund, good point. thanks

              • @vawiyoci: That has always been my go to, ie cancel and go another bank with good bonus sign up points, then come back after 12 or 18 months to the first bank. Rinse and repeat.

But is there anything to ppl saying banks are cracking down on churn and burners, and not approving applications when applicants have had other cancellation/approvals within the past 12 to 24 months? I seem to recall some ppl saying this on an Amex QFF credit card post.

                • @jimbob33: Currently we're only at the stage of banks offering worse offers than the years before (eg this card previously had 160k for lower fees). And points are being devalued both through the reality of there being a lot more holders nowadays so less reward seats to go around as well as when the airlines increase the cost to redeem eg what Virgin announced recently to begin next year.

In my personal experience the big 4 don't seem to care that much about churning just yet though I've had both approvals and rejections applying for cards within a short span of time so it's a bit of a crapshoot.

        • How long did it take for you to receive the bonus points after eligible spend?

          • +1

@rvsure: this time surprisingly the next statement, in my previous experience I had to chase it up and it took around 3 months after meeting eligible spend.

            • @pooks: Btw if you are planning to close the card don't forget to request your Qantas lounge passes if you haven't already done before closing the card.

  • Has anyone successfully received a pro-rata refund on the annual fee?

    • Looking at the previous comments it's really hit and miss / YMMV depending on who you get responding to you on the app chat etc. I've gone through multiple cards with them now (ff/rewards/cashback) as well gotten relatives onto it and I've seen rejections, refunds, rejections then somehow credit on the next statement, saying they can't do the pro-rata until the card closure is processed after which no response or rejection (reason given being you've already received the 'benefits' according to t&c.

  • Just received this card and I must say it was quite seamless. My last credit card application was with Bank of Melbourne and that was a poor experience which took weeks of following up.

Applied and submitted payslips Wednesday afternoon, conditionally approved Thursday morning, received card Monday afternoon.

  • Received my second statement recently $3000 spend per month and no points/$200 back yet

I thought they usually come 2nd statement or is it the statement after you qualify? TIA

    • I hit the $6k in the first month but no points or $200. I'm hoping it's next statement.

  • Does any one know if the government payment (Rego) count towards the spend requirement? I know it won't earn Qantas Points, but there nothing in T&C that indicates government payment is ineligible for the spending requirement.

    Thanks,

    • I used sniip to pay council rates

  • +2

Made a comparison for people looking for the best QFF points per dollar, with some notes, here
    Date compared 29-09-2024

    • that's really useful, thanks!

  • T&Cs say as long as not held another ANZ FF card within 12 months. Can anyone confirm that they’ve held an ANZ non-FF Black/Plat card has been able to get the points!

    • +1

Yeah done it multiple time now with their FF/rewards/cashback cards within the same year since ANZ has them on separate exclusion periods, it's the same with NAB but not WBC or STG.

      • Thanks for your reply!

  • +2

Thanks OP, received the 90k points recently. Waiting for BPAY to clear and then will cancel, will update if I am able to get prorata refund

    • +2

Can confirm I will be receiving a $277 prorata refund, The phone rep advised that in the T&C's you don't get a refund however I mentioned that my partner received a refund and she has done it as a "one off good will"

      • Did you call them or via chat?

        • Called them, approx 45 mins on hold

    • How long did it take for ANZ to credit points? My 3rd statement got generated today but still waiting for points.

      • You make sure it was all eligible spend? No government or bpay stuff etc?

        • Yes, no govt or bpay and spent $8500 in total for which I got 8500 std points

      • did you receive the $200 cashback?
I've spent $5350 in 45 days and received the 2nd statement, and yet to see the bonus 90k points or the $200 cashback..
I did buy Woolies gift cards for $700, which showed as Wish gift card in the statement. I'm thinking gift card purchases may not be eligible for the spend requirement even though i did receive qantas points for them.

        • Update: I just got 90k points today morning and yes I did receive $200 cashback after 2nd statement

  • Am I eligible for the bonus points if I held a Qantas Business card with ANZ in the last 12 months?

  • Partner applied almost 3 weeks ago and hasn't heard back. Anyone know what the direct number is for the approvals team?

Called 13 33 33 (listed as New Credit Card Applications number on ANZ website) but the lady was clueless and just stated the obvious, that it's under review.

Would like to give it a nudge - lots of anticipated spending with upcoming Black Friday sales and festive season.
