I dont think the Gen5 is worth $1149 with the code when you can get a V15 for $896.40 from the Dyson Ebay store with the 10% code APAY10 on the already 31% off sale. From all the reviews and comparisons ive watched this last week, that was my conclusion. Gen5detect has been under $900 a few times
Not recently, I think it was late last year and early this year, plus very limited stock.
Earlier in the year, Jan-Feb there was massive sale on gen5
Still a great deal compared to the usual price (not so sure about the product though as reviews are mixed).
Tossing up between this and the V15. I quite like the push button on/off that the Gen5 has, and also the built-in crevice tool. Apparently it also has a better laser (who doesn't want better lasers amirite). But is that worth the extra dough?
The new laser comes on the V15 and V12 now. In the US the V15 also come with the in built crevice tool but it seems like we dont get that. I found this comment on a reddit thread today talking about the V15 vs Gen5
Watch this video, he talks about the issues with the Gen5. There is a point in the video where the gen5 carpet head wont work on the carpet and even grinds the bristles against the plastic casing. The V15 has no trouble on the same carpet. The same youtuber also has a video on the Gen5 and the v15 for insane performance testing on a realy dirty floor if you wanted to watch that.
I bought a V15 absolute from Dyson direct in November last year. It came with the laser head and built in tool in the shaft.
