I have been looking for a gaming laptop that won’t break the bank. Had my eye on this for a few weeks, noticed it’s priced to clear, saved $200
Fingers crossed it’s a decent laptop

11th gen Intel. We're on 14th in 2024. This is old.
Only 4gb of video ram. Skip the RTX3000 series on laptops. Old and inefficient.
Go for a 4050 at least. Similar price bracket.
I would get this for $1079.

Good price but for the i7 model the processor in title is 13th and description is 12th gen.
11th gen i7. Not a great deal
Officeworks also have the Lenovo LOQ for the same price but RTX 3050 with 6GB VRAM (a newer 3050 with same CUDA core count as the 3050 Ti). Much newer Ryzen 7 7840HS processor too, better pick between the two IMO.
Nice find.
How does that compare to this $200 cheaper similar laptop with intel cpu?
https://officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/-LN82XV00SC
Seems like the main / only difference is the weaker CPU.
7840HS is Zen 4 which came out last year, granted all the 2024 models like 8845HS are the exact same chip just with a rename, so for all intents and purposes it's a 2024 tier processor with 8 cores / 16 threads. 12450H is 4P cores / 4E cores (lower powered), so 8 cores / 12 threads and a couple generations older, so basically just less CPU performance.
7840HS is definitely better, but I only have one data point for 12450H so it's hard to say for sure just how much better - 80% better multicore performance with the 7840HS from my Cinebench R23 results.
Love watching your channel for reviews, hope you can come here more often for better advises AND try to score us cheaper laptop deals too!
some alternatives in here https://gaminglaptop.deals/australia/
oh no this one still got the 2 trackpad physical click buttons, I saw that at JB, really crappy plastic build, don't waste your cash … Just wait for the 2024 LOQ prices to come down if you can HODL, the build quality so damn better compare to previous gen, just look like their Legion series!
LOQ i5/16gb/512/3050 for $897 at officeworks rn worth the buy?
Alright guys, you've convinced me. Since OW was still reviewing my order, I cancelled it and ordered the Lenovo LOQ
If it's an actual gaming laptop, cancel that one too. The RTX3050 is just not worthwhile now. Don't we frequently have RTX4060 deals going round here for very similar prices?…And the EOFY sales have barely started yet…
That's a bit of a stretch for 4060, at least in recent memory, and they're usually lower quality machines like MSI GF63 for ~$1289ish
