@donman92: Really? Wasn't there a story just a couple of months ago about the govt chasing people up for proof of WFH days expenses? - and wouldn't those checks be part of a general tax audit?
@donman92: They have income/expense ratios that they use as well as averages. If you claim more than most people in your category or certain large claims, then you raise your probability of being audited. Certain large CGT/GST events could trigger an audit as well.
@donman92: Sometimes they prefer to chase the little fish as they don't have the resources to defend themselves unlike the shonky sharks.
