That is the right price, but yes it is considered the old ipad. Slightly slower processor, ipad 4th gen has a better front camera as well… Plus new dock connector.

People are negging because 'twice as fast' is only the marketing hype supplied by Apple. The A6X may be 'twice as fast' in some aspects of a benchmark, but it is not overall.
Moreover, the supposed doubled speed won't be noticeable for quite some time, as the processors are already more than enough for what they handle. As Apple fans usually love to say to their Android counterparts, benchmarks do not correlate to real world performance.
It is actually twice as fast almost across the board. Check out some of the real world benchmark tests if you still disagree. You are right that it will take quite some time for the software to catch up, but the A6X chip is a significant leap in performance.
I'd probably go the Apple Store Refurb version for $559 inc shipping, as it has the same 1 year warranty.
Most probably new stock anyways… As suddenly all the iPad 3's were unable to purchase once the iPad 4 was announced.
