Just got both this and the docking station for $322

    • +1

Same coupon code? I'm getting $336 with code CBTFY25

    • +9

      How? I’m seeing $336

      Edit: bought anyway, thanks OP

Hundreds of dollars spent before brekkie. What a start to the day!

    • Can u share link / code. Thanks

    • great price!

    • Question is : Do we really need the docking station?

      • +1

Do we really need the docking station?

If no pets and not a lot long hairs like me, you don't need it. I have carpets will need to empty it every use.

  • Is there any use for the provided dock if you buy the auto-empty dock separately?

    • +3

The provided dock won't have use if you buy the auto-empty dock.

Edit: see below - I stand corrected.

    • +16

I use the original recharging dock in a second space of my home. The self-emptying dock is in the main part of my house, but there are additional rooms that are inaccessible due to stairs. I have a second map stored (you can have up to 5 maps) for the second space. Drop the vacuum anywhere in the second area and select the appropriate map in the app. Once it finishes it returns to the smaller dock and recharges. Then I just move it back to the main space the next day or whenever, knowing it is fully recharged.

      • Perfect, thanks!

      • Then I just move it back to the main space the next day or whenever, knowing it is fully recharged.

For me, I only have the charging dock downstairs, I just move it back downstairs and select the correct map and it will need a min to check the environment and back to charging dock.

      • Can the robot recognise there are 2 dockings in different floors/areas? That would be a big plus for me if it can so I don't need to buy 2 robots (was thinking about it).

Also with mapping, for example, can you map the whole 1st floor as one map but select to vacuum only the kitchen area and leave out the living room? Or do you need to map kitchen as map1, living room as map 2 etc?

        • +1

"Can the robot recognise there are 2 dockings in different floors/areas? That would be a big plus for me if it can so I don't need to buy 2 robots (was thinking about it)"

Yes, if you read my message above, I use two docks in two separate spaces, but with one robot vacuum. The unit docks to whichever one is accessible.

"Also with mapping, for example, can you map the whole 1st floor as one map but select to vacuum only the kitchen area and leave out the living room? Or do you need to map kitchen as map1, living room as map 2 etc?"

Yes, when it maps your space it divides it into "rooms". This is fully adjustable, so you can define and label the rooms if you want to. Then you can tell the robot to clean a specific room, or a "zone" where you just draw box around the area you want cleaned. You can also define restricted areas that never get cleaned, like under a desk where there are cables or something.

          • @ayoole:

like under a desk where there are cables or something.

You can use ">" quote to reply

Bought a couple of weeks ago and impressed. Emptying is pretty easy so haven't got a dock yet but tempted now

  • +1

Can two share a single dock?

    • +40

No, only two males can engage in docking

      • +2

Lol, i had to urban dictionary that term… learnt something new today.

        • +1

Start your day with a Portuguese breakfast!

          My personal recommendation.

  • Is this a decent brand in general? Looking at their stick vacuums.

  • can u provide a link for the dock? or both if they can be bought together please

  • Comes with the dock: $375

Not sure what the difference is between SL60 Plus and SL60D.

    • +3
      • +1

Thanks, works out cheaper to buy them separately.

    • The plus is 4500Pa where as the one posted here is 4000Pa if that makes any difference.

      • I got the SL60 Plus a while back for $380, so that makes me feel a little better :-)

        • Yeah I got the plus a couple of months ago for the same price from ebay, around $380.

The SL60D Plus is an upgraded version of the original and offers 4500Pa suction (was 4000Pa), an increased climbing height of 20mm (was 18mm) and the auto empty dock now has dust capacity of 2.5L.

  • Which one is better - this or LG which had been posted yesterday? I have ~5 years old Xiaomi without mop functionality - and that guy is going to retire

    • +1

The mop water reserve is really small in the lublue

    • +1

This has LIDAR, LG does not

  • Anyone know how this goes with a 95% carpet house with a dog ?
All promo shots are hard floor which doesnt bring me confidence obviously the mop function won't be much use lol.

    • Most robot vacuums do fine with short hairs.

    • It has auto carpet/rug detection, so will step up the suction automatically. I find it works really well on our rug, even though 95% of the house is tiles 👍

    • Autoboost! works well.

my place is all haardwood floors plus rugs placed here and there - it seems to be able to detect it well and not mop it! lol

    • +1

Maybe it's just me - but I've found that when the vacuum goes to the bedroom (which is carpeted) and then to the auto-empty dock station - the fluff from the carpet clogs up and is not auto emptied correctly (require manual intervention).

The manual intervention requires opening up the vacuum from underneath and removing the debris/fluff stuck. As it's a small apartment, this isn't a big issue, and I make the vacuum avoid the bedroom and I instead use my stick vacuum to complete that portion.

      • Does that do it every time? Maybe you can set the robot to run more frequently to avoid too much debris?

      • I have the same issue with the auto empty dock station and get a error message not emptied correctly. Only have a small rug in the living room but it is fluffy one and it does clog up the vacuum. Have now put an exclusion zone for the rug area.

    • obviously the mop function won't be much use lol

Never use mop, I think it couldn't auto detect carpet or hard floor, have to set the area manually.

    • I have it upstairs with 90% carpet and the battery life is just not long enough to get it all done in one go. also recharging takes quite a bit. If I exclude the guest bedroom and bathroom it seems to be getting it done.

    • Better than a 91% carpet house with a cat.

  • +5

Thanks OP, got one for $201 with ebay plus. All hardwood floor house with no stairs, at this price it's a no brainer.

  • +2

    FFS paid 245 last week.

  • Am I reading it right that the auto empty station will only work with the 2 in 1 dust/water container, not the container which is just for dust?
    Seems unfortunate if true.

    • Bugger! That does seem to be the case. This listing for the 600ml dust bin says "not compatible with the SD80 or SD85 Auto Empty Station" :(

  • +5

Still waiting for my Gen 1 Xiaomi to die.

    • +1

I replaced my 5 year old xiaomi roborock with lublulu but the 4500pa version and it doesn't "look" like it cleans as well. Just based on visual observation. My old roborock used to "fluff" up my carpet as it vacuumed over it. I don't see that with the lublulu even though it has significantly more pa.Take this with a huge grain of salt

    • same! it's an amazing bit of kit still going so well
hard to justify more for a new one

      • Really shows the mark-ups on these things nowaday.

        • +1

yeah think I paid like $300ish for my xiaomi in 2017 or 2018, use it probably twice weekly ever since, hasn't missed a beat. Won't die. Sure it doesn't mop or have auto empty etc but it picks stuff up which is good enough for me

  • This or SL68 for 231?

    • I think SL68 only single side sweeper

      • yep 1 brush (SL68) vs the double (SL60)

      • it has a bigger dust bin though 250 vs 350ml

        • ahhh i see. Yea the double brush won me over and having the auto empty station negates the smaller dust bin in the unit for me.

          • @spikiii:

the auto empty station negates the smaller dust bin in the unit for me.

I don't have pets or long hairs, I am fine without auto empty station.

  • How these compare to roborock s7?

    • +1

      compare to roborock s7

Not the same price level, for $200 this is very good.

  • +1

Thanks Op, mine is showing as posted

  • Is this actually a good robot vacuum? I watch a couple videos, it doesn't seem to be that great

    • At this price point - it's a great unit.

Are there better ones? most probably but at a higher cost.

      • +1

most probably but at a higher cost.

Yeah, couldn't understand why people want to compare it with a $1000 unit.

        • I mean, even if you spend $200 on a unit, but it can barely suck anything, then its a waste of $200. You were better off not buying anything. For example I bought a $100 720p projector. I get a $2,000 projector would be clearer and sharper but the $100 project is amazing because it does exactly what I intended it to do, display video and a decent quality.

        • It's a fair question. Not everyone is up to date with all technology. If a $200 vacuum gets 85% done compared to a $1000 model, that a good proposition to buy now think later.

If it's just doing the bare minimum like a wish product, yeh nah.

      • +1

Have you tried increasing the suction level using the app?
Some people recommended manually setting it to the highest setting

  • Would it be better to spend a bit extra and get the plus model https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/355555116804
Clear on their post lists it as 4500 suction but the ebay listing states 4000 so I am unsure of what difference the models are. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/837452
    Thanks.

  • We have a Dyson V8 which we use to do a vacuum each weekend. Are these robot vacuums comparable to the clean you would get from a Dyson?

    • +1

Of course not. This is to tie you between the Dyson manual cleans.

    • +3

It doesn't remove the need to vacuum completely, but it significantly reduces the frequency you need to. My robot vacuum runs daily, and I only use the Dyson once every month or so now, usually when I have guests coming or something.

    • +2

We've been doing a bit of a combo, have a Dyson and an old Xiaomi (which does need replacing). So we basically have the robot doing a scheduled daily run and then we'll go over the edges/corners with the Dyson.
We have a pretty hairy dog too…

I feel like the result with the robot cleaner is better, not because it's a better vacuum - I don't think a lot currently can compete with human hand-eye combination. But because it runs daily it keeps the dust-levels in-check, also leaving less for the stick vacuum around the edges.

So 1:1 I'd probably say the stick vacuum but then, but it's not really a 1:1 comparison. I've found the robot to be a revelation just because of that ongoing cleaning service. Not to mention that my stick vacuum requires multiple charges to clean the same area.

    • Just a note. We had a Dyson V8 that we would do a full house vacuum + mop once a week (with perhaps some spot vacuuming here and there). From empty this would basically fill up the Dyson's dust bin completely (after one pass of the house before a mop).

After getting this model robot, which we ran about once every 2-3 days (And some spot cleaning of the kitchen after cooking/cleaning up), running the dyson at the same once a week schedule, it picked up maybe 1/10th of it's dustbin.

Now we only manually vacuum every 2-3 weeks, if that. Very happy

      • Look good. I’m looking forward vacuuming once a week with my Dyson, lol.

    • Also if someone is sick, super busy, got guests coming, a mess made by guests, been away on holidays and want a clean before you arrive, just want under bed or entrance way cleaned … these are just great uses of robo vacs. I was skeptical. I'm a convert and wouldn't be without a robo vac for basic cleaning.

We schedule entrance way / foyer cleaning, kitchen cleaning, bathrooms each day we're not home. Auto empty means never having to worry about touching the robo vac. Then every month stick nozzle of your main house vac into the dock bag and it sucks out 99% of stuff in 3 secs. Done. Bags last forever.

  • +1

How are these compared to something like a Roborock S5 Max? My S5Max seems to be becoming more spazzo each and every day - not being able to find its dock, being confused and “trapped” in a completely open area with nothing on its path, losing track of where the dock actually is in the apartment (moves in map) etc. thinking to replace it soon.

  • Awesome value if yours can dock. But their cust service gave me a free bin and new vac to try and resolve the issue. Ended up being the vac.

    Haven’t touched the Dyson since

    • You previously purchased vac+doc, had an issue & you got new units without sending out the purchased ones, then figured out it was the purchased vac causing the issue?
      Sounds like good customer service.

      • Yes original vac was the issue. Their resolution was to try to resolve it on different surfaces and resetting rollers in the app. I had to send videos of the vac not docking usually about a minute or so. If their suggestions didn’t work, they sent a new unit

  • How is everyone applying these coupons? No matter what I just get the 'This code can't be applied to your order.' error.

This is the only item in my cart. I'm applying it on the checkout page.

    • eBay Plus?

      • No, but I expected to at least get the $215.20 discount.

Actually, this seems to be an issue with my logged-in cart. Using a guest session allows me to apply to code successfully.

  • How is it compare to Xiaomi please? I had a Xiaomi which always goes crazy and often get lost around the house and stuck somewhere. I had to carry it back to its docking charger. Sometimes it works fine and sometimes it doesn't. I've reset it multiple times and same issues which was very frustrating and had to get rid of it.

    • +1

often get lost around the house and stuck somewhere.

So far I have no problem, always back to the dock correctly and I need to take it upstairs to clean and back downstairs to charge.

      • Nice. Thanks for letting me know

    • Are you making sure that you keep everything off the ground the robot can run into and that doors are fully opened and closed so that it can't get stuck behind them?

      • Yes of course… floor clear even used digital boundary/ walls to that the crazy robot vacuum does not go ashtray… but unfortunately, it still did

  • great, I have 2 Eufy robovacs ones of these without the laser mapping and they just get constantly stuck in random places.. I hope the room mapping works better with this one.

    • I hope the room mapping works better with this one.

It is very good and with laser.

      • Good, the Eufy ones I have are like watching a drunk 3-year-old trying to clean up.

  • +1

Now, we have Robots at every room

  • Can I confirm I should get this combo?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/354836199638

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/355100298415

$358 in total (maybe cheaper with Ebay plus?)

  • +2

    L20 @ 5500pa of suction at $239
    SL68 @ 4500pa of suction at $231

Are either of those the better buy?

  • So who has kids with these?
I can totally see my kids jumping on this robot and trying to ride/breaking it.. Only run it at night?
