In my opinion its got some of the best tv series content (hbo mainly) so its good for a month or two

It's basically a mix between Foxtel and HBO. $18 a month though is a lot of money. Better off pirating and watching anything you want on your own terms maybe.

I'm no fan of Murdoch, but I highly doubt they'd make anything out of it at $5, provided you cancel before the next billing date.
You might even cost them some dollars if you stream enough (bandwidth costs) ;)

If you want specific content, it won't be available unless it's seeded well enough, like any other torrent on the web.

I'll sign up 1 week before the season finale.
That way I have a month to watch the whole series.
HotD last episode is on 4th Aug (5Aug Aus morning). So, had to take subscription for 2 months anyway if you don't want to wait. At least, first month is discounted now.
For any other parents, just confirmed via chat there is no ability to set a pin on a profile (e.g parents) and have a separate profile (e.g kids) that only has access to kids content. There is a great kids content section, but no way (i could find) to stop them watching any inappropriate content, so guess will need to be used supervised.
Although this has been mentioned by u/choc83 upstream, I don't think people are catching it - you can cancel the subscription right away and still access until the month is over. No risk of forgetting to cancel and wind up paying.
