This previously popular portable monitor is back on sale for a much cheaper price. While arguably this isn't as good value compared to the 14" 1440p monitors this is for people who want a smaller and more portable monitor with good features for the price. As a comparison 11" portable monitors can be had cheaper, however they have 1366x768 resolution with poor brightness.

Featuring a 10.5" IPS display with 1920x1280 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 60Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB & 76% DCI-P3 colour gamut, HDR, 420cd/m² brightness, 75x75mm VESA mounting, 3.5mm audio jack, 178° wide viewing angle, inbuilt speakers and fold out case.

There's two USB-C ports for display/power and power input, PD passthrough charging, Mini HDMI and a headphone jack. A Mini HDMI to HDMI cable, USB-A to USB-C cable, USB-C to USB-C cable and charger are included.

  • Might be good for car pc / or just a monitor with the cheap Pi 400 (for portable pc)

    • What are you using it for in the car?

      • When I'm on lunch break and want to watch something or browse on large screen 🤣🤣
Just have to 3D print something that makes it look like it's part of car

        • Oh yeah I do that in the company Teslas all the time on the big screen.

Mounting the screen will be the easy part. There's an endless supply of different mounting options on Ali with cup holders and suction cup tablet mounts.

    • I got the recent 2 x Rpi 400s for 88$ deal and I'm looking for an excuse to buy this screen to use with it but I can't think of one

      • Tesla centre screen wannabe

why are they so heavy. ipad pro is only 444 grams.

    • +5

      slight price difference too

      • one is just a screen

  • +1

Good unit, mine doesn't seem to go to sleep/standby though unlike my Zsus on same machine & USB-C

    • My Mucai monitor does go to sleep / power saving mode on Windows 11.

      • +1

This is on a mac, I'll try it with pc

  • Bought last month
Good product if you're looking for lighter setup for multipurpose(trip/bedside tablet)
Much less cost media consumption machine when you combine it with your phone

  • 420 brightness, pretty good deal at this price and do not see any others coming close with these specs.

I use a previous post 15in ESR for live work alerts under my main monitor thereby saving space on the desk.

    • I got my hands on a Mucai touchscreen recently and have been using it for travel. Build quality is surprisingly good for the price and brightness is stellar. Portabiliy is top notch due to the size.

Mine comes with a built-in Surface Pro style kickstand instead of a foldable case but I managed to fit it in a second hand iPad case.

  • Considering how popular portable monitor deals have become (with multiple deals posted each day), I can't help but wonder: what are people actually using them for, beyond discussing their Nits, Hz, and FHD?

    • +1

I combine my Mucai touchscreen, a mini pc with USB C PD support, a 100W powerbank, and a 100W GaN charger into an experimental off-the-shelf travel PC setup and so far it's been working very well.

It's not as convenient as a laptop but is still very portable, and the individual components are extremely cheap and easy to replace.

    • Purchased the OLED screen in the other deal. Will be used to connect to my NVR or Switch when I'm travelling.

    • +2

      Portable gaming system.
      Secondary monitor for laptop.
If you do IT support or have a homelab, having a portable monitor is very useful.

    • Small dedicated screen underneath ultrawide with music, todo or other sticky single app display.

  • +3

I bought one, there were a massive cluster of dead pixels or some kind of 'burn mark' on the display so I had to return it

  • Anybody know if you give this 1080p HDMI will it let you display letterboxed with black bars or will it only stretch it?

    • This is 1080p

      • It says 16:10 1920x1280 in the post and listing though?

        • MB it says FHD which is wrong and my eyes must have glossed over the 2

  • Anyone use these for MS FlightSim inst screens ?
I use Spacedesk with my Samsung tablet but it's via a network connection.

  • Has anyone used this for a shared Google Calendar and daily reminders? Or can anyone recommend a great system for this? Thanks!

    • Yes, it's my dedicated tick tick & notion calendar screen

  • Re the USD/AU cashback advice; followed all fine up until

    Click "See currency options"

Couldnt see anything on the paypal or Ali page showing that option, maybe I (profanity) up though

      • I think I literally bought the last one.. showing unavailable for me now

        • It's 1 per customer so that's why.

  • Good use case for long flights. Used something similar for my switch heading to Japan to play multi player co op. Get a small ucb c dock and hdmi to c and you’re all set. Was a blast

    • did you power the screen with a powerbank too?

      • Yeah brought my 100w cygnett charge up pro with me. Used it to charge all our devices and topped up using the seat power

  • fyi 1920x1280 is 3:2 aspect ratio

  • does anyone know if it will be in the correct aspect ratio when connected to an iphone?

  • Hi Clear, thanks for the frequent deals on these, getting very tempting haha.

Any good options out there for screens with a proper stylus pen (like surface pen or apple pencil style thing with a hard tip) for drawing on?

  • -1

    Any version with touchscreen?
