    Brand says it all

    Bin-a-when

    • +2

When did yours fail on you?

A bit of pot luck when it comes to electronics from AliExpress. This is why you never buy $$$$ electronics from there. No warranty and recourse really.

    • +5

      It's Bim, not bin.

      • +1

In chinglish, but translates to bin

    • I laughed.

  • +1

    Price seems amazing for oled?

    • +4

I got another one from this deal just now, but the other one I have from the previous deal has been working fine since I got as a secondary screen when I am out and about on the road. It fits snug inside the laptop bag outer pocket and power via USBC which is handy cause then a suitable powerbank can power it.

      • Can you power it over the single cable via type c?

Also reading the description, this does HDR400. This seems oddly low for HDR from an oled screen, something more of a miniled. Should be a typo but pointing it out

        • +4

Yes single USB-C. I use the Mini HDMI to HDMI for connecting to the computer.

Great deal for a decent quality OLED portable monitor — I bought this model few weeks ago for a higher price, and am very happy with its performance. Note that it doesn't have any VESA mounting holes at the back (since the entire monitor is extremely slim), so you'll need to buy a VESA tablet clamp adapter if you want to mount it on a monitor arm.

DCI-P3 colour gamut is good and ensures the colours really pop. Speakers sound terrible, but they always do on small portable monitors. The menu UI is surprisingly decent and looks much nicer than something like the ones from UPERFECT.

Worth noting that at 13" this monitor is a little small — it's great for travelling, but if you're using it on your desktop then you'll definitely notice the smaller size — it'll be slightly smaller than most laptop screens. Definitely best used as a secondary display, not a primary.

The bigger 15" OLED portable monitors cost about double the price though, so in the end it's a compromise.

    • A 14" version would be nice

  • +4

I got one of these a while ago, still going strong except the included power supply literally fried on me. Would recommend using any usb-c phone charger with it instead.

    • +1

Yeah I always ditch the included power supplies for cheap portable monitors as they tend to look like a fire hazard. Much safer to go with a known brand like Belkin/Anker/UGREEN etc.

      • What's the usual wattage for this type of screens?
        Thanks

        • +1

The included power adapter is rated for 2.0A 10W.

I just plugged in my Power Mate Lite energy monitor and got these readings after opening the Steam homepage:
          * at 50% brightness, the monitor draws 3.4W (the screen isn't very bright, so you'll usually want to use at least 50% brightness most of the time)
          * at 80% brightness, it draws 3.84W
          * at 100% brightness, it draws 4.17W

While playing Jagged Alliance 3 at 100% brightness, power consumption varies from 3.83W to 4.46W depending on the scene brightness.

So it looks like during normal use it doesn't really go above 5W, it's pretty efficient. You could easily run this off a mid or large-sized powerbank for a few hours if you wanted to.

Curious how all the displays have almost 5 stars. Possible fake reviews?

    • I had a quick browse and from what I can see they look genuine to me. It's a good monitor, and for this price it's a steal.

  • $131.74 seems to be the cheapest available to me.

  • +1

Missed out before. Not this time.

    • LOL

  • +3

I ordered one. Gotta figure out what to do with it now. I keep seeing these dangled in front of my eyes on OZB and I couldn't resist this time. My main monitor is OLED and once you go OLED you really don't go back.

    • In the same boat - I always scour these monitor deal comments to see what people use them for. I WFH so there are no travel benefits and I already have multiple monitor.. I guess this is a full time Teams monitor now

      • I'm the same and yeah I was thinking I could use it for slack and Spotify. Free up some real estate for my main monitor

      • +1

I'd be a little concerned about displaying a static app on an OLED monitor, although if that's all it'll ever be used for, I guess it's not a big deal.

        • Dark mode and darker colours would help somewhat. I don't think this panel would have panel refresh technology or pixel shifting technology etc.

  • +8

Just pointing out if you add 4 usd item to it you will be qualifying for the $12 coupon instead of $8 so you basically can get $4 worth of free item

  • i bought both this and the 10.5" dunno what to do with it

  • -1

It says 2 left in my cart so if you're on the fence, better jump now!

  • If you mirror your phone with this, are you able to utilize the whole screen in portrait mode?

  • +2

Got one of these a while ago. So much better than the other no-name IPS screen I have. Colours were all off and not very bright on that one. This one has good colours and is nice an bright.

  • any 14-15inch oled deals

  • no more stock now.

Still in stock with Ryxxi's link.

Also if you really wanted a 15 inch oled, or touch, this seller seems okay.

    • +1

That looks like a good price, although the seller has 0% feedback. Has anyone tried the 13.3" OLED touch model?

    • This looks like a different model?

  • Just got mine today and it doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong? Power light comes and stays on and screen flashes momentarily but otherwise stays dark and OSD is not even working. Tried supplied cables and power supply as well as my own to no avail. Never had a DOA or had to claim replacement/refund from Aliexpress before. How painful is it? Not looking forward to it.

    • +1

      You paid with PayPal right?

      • No. Used latitude 28 degrees global platinum mastercard (no overseas purchases fee, currency conversion fee or annual fee) and I have their Shopper's Insurance and checked that includes Merchandise Insurance but does not cover defects.

Is anyone else who purchased this item unlucky? My next step is to contact Aliexpress/the seller.

        • +1

I always use my 28 degrees card through Paypal to get the extra Paypal protections.

If you tried all the usb ports on the left and it doesn't work, then yeah, best to contact the seller first.

    • +1

Did you try all of the USB C ports? Make sure you’re not using the OTG port. Consult the manual to make sure.

      • +1

Yep, it was the OTG port. Tried both USB-C and mini HDMI too, thanks.

    • Is it still not working @samlor?

I find if you device supports Alt Mode over USB C its best to use that cable as it supplies power and the video signal. The bonus is only one cable as well.

      • Yep one USB cable literally used the same single cable that was driving another monitor and it didn't, thanks,

    • +1

I submitted an online return/request (incl. photo & video uploads) and was sent a link to print a parcel post label addressed to Lidcombe NSW so I repacked and sent it via my local Australia Post office. Fingers crossed the refund/replacement process is as efficient.

      • +1

        Fingers crossed with the return.

Just bad luck with the devices I guess. I had two devices go bad on me, once on eBay and another on LightInABox. eBay got a full refund and LightInABox partial refunded (which I used to go get it fixed).

        • Yeah, at least it was immediately DOA and didn't develop a fault just after warranty expiry, thanks.

  • +2

Update, got mine just now. Works good. At first I plugged the table on the right side which has only one type c and it didn't work - that's because it's an OTG port.
Plugged in the other side with a Macbook air and works great. Had to turn the brightness up from stock and it really can go pretty bright - fine for in office level brightness, with the oled blacks niceness.

Came with a magnetic case, that It tells me I should flip it to use as a stand, but that didn't work on first try. It does work just rotating the case cover from stock to rear, but you'd probably want the other way because it would wobble I'd imagine.

To be clear it was this one I got https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006290421851.html?spm=a2…

  • +1

Mine came in a box saying it was an IPS screen but the OLED was inside.
