Discriminatory Job Ad on SEEK

I thought this is considered illegal. Seems like Australia is going backwards.

https://www.seek.com.au/job/76233184?tracking=SHR-WEB-Shared…

Only accepting applicants who identify as female or non binary.

I've reported this job ad to Seek on grounds of discrimination.

Another storm in a teacup… The ad says prioritise recruitment of "…" Categories. It doesn't say only accepted. The OP seems to have added that themselves.

It does say they are excited to invite female and non binary.

The implication is clear. Ie. they are not inviting men to apply.

    • If you search for it on seek, the ad summary listed while scrolling through other ads implicitly states females and non-binary only.

  • Imagine the looks and whispers on day one, forever the "special" kid.

Setting a precedent for bypassing laws that actually help provide the equality that everyone wanted in the first place, what a disgrace by all parties involved.

    • Imagine caring that they hired a women even though the requirements are that she is experienced.

At some point, they're going to have to run the productivity numbers on their DEI hires (and 457 nepotism).
The numbers won't be pretty, and ESG dollars won't make up for the total collapse of a hardfought company
