    I'm still rocking the f3!

    • My f1 still works haha. A lot of bang for the buck but I really wish they would add some sort of telephoto camera. I'd rather a refurbished S22 Ultra for this sort of money

    • Same here, love the F3!
Only problem is the bloody camera which isn't great

  • +1

Note that the camera is pretty ordinary and it's barely IP rated. The Xiaomi 13T excels in both of those, but lacks all the other great specs of the Poco F6 Pro.

    • +6

yea, at this price, with practically no warranty, considering the competition at a similar price, id expect more

      • +5

Considering Pixel 7 was about $469 with Perks from JB HiFi back in January, $670 is lot of money with no local warranty.

      • I want B3/B28 + updates.

        This the one or not?

        • +1

pocos are fine. i just think that competition has really caught up at this low-end-premium price range. if you want a chinaphone, it might be worth considering one that has alternative OS support

        • +2

This phone will give you the correct bands, but in terms of updates just expect bloatware ish software from Xiaomi.

A lot of the people who buy this usually install custom ROMs, if you can bare with that, and they have to be manually updated every now and then.

If you don't mind that, this is a great phone. But considering the cost and warranty, a Pixel (which usually goes on sale) would be something you'd look to instead.

Xiaomi is no longer a "budget-friendly" phone to buy, and with the cost of their phones matching up with high-end phone specs (like a base version of an iPhone or Samsung), it's hard to negate the price.

          • @SDF05: If you haven't rooted a xiaomi phone before. You're going to have a lot of fun, it's not like any other android 😊 it's a special breed of phone 🤣

            • @Bretttick: Yep, it's pretty easy

              • @ldd-mn: It's not, I was being sarcastic

                • @Bretttick: What issues have you had? Personally it's gone fine for me. Definitely more annoying than a Oneplus/Pixel having to wait 7 days though.

                  • @CHUNITHM Luminous: Waiting time to root is F annoying.

I get some issues where the phone will just reset and go into a boot loop.

I had issues at one stage with flashing updates, I couldn't access internal storage.

Few little others things. The boot looping for me is annoying, worrying.

Either way I'm pretty sure I won't be buying xiaomi anymore. The price point was a big factor for me, I Rather spend an extra $50-100 to purchase locally to get warranty.

    had a poco f1 and a poco f3
but the price creep has gotten bad..

  • Why the hell aliexpress charges more than 10% tax??
Order total US$308, -US$50 coupon, I should pay $25 GST! They charge $33.

    • AliExpress GST has been like that forever. I think it's supposed to be based on the original price but it's still wrong

      • +2

So they are scamming people and no one cares?

  • -1

Not bad but I'd rather get the Poco F6 for a hunda cheaper.

  • +3

Used to have the Poco F1 and F3, both are great phones. These phones used to be the "flagship killers" coming after OnePlus phones who got roasted on for obvious reasons.

With that being said, the cost for these phones is matching that of base high-end phones (like with iPhones, Samsung Galaxy series and Pixel phones) and without any sort of warranty, MIUI (Xiaomi's UI) being still shit and the overall expectancy of these phones don't seem to negate the price point.

It's a reason why i switched to Samsung Galaxy series. I mean if we're reaching the $1000 mark, might as well get a phone covered by warranty and does everything you want out-of-the-box.

But definitely think about that when you are getting this kind of a phone. If you're trying to get a phone to last you for a few years, this phone might not be it (unless you're willing to go through the hoops of unlocking bootloader, installing custom ROMs which you hope would still support your phone and making sure that your bank apps are properly supported in custom ROMs to be used properly).

    • "f you're trying to get a phone to last you for a few years, this phone might not be it "
Shouldn't it receive 3-4 years of updates?
I have an X3 bought in 2021, still working perfectly fine and no issues with banking apps.

      • +2

I've still got an x3 pro (rooted, it's a pia to do and continues to be to date)

        I agree with SDF05

  • Not that cheap as its 12gb variant you can get the 8gb! BUT also it isnt that cheap either considering is running a dated snapdragon 8gen2 not 8gen3. To make it worse value the Poco F6 non-pro has a newer chipset the 8s Gen 3 (cut down 8gen3) and lot say its nicer then the pro for the price. Even at if it was 550 this PocoF6 Pro has dated specs

Also bit steep! Considering not much of a bump up from a Poco F3 i.e ,my snapdragon 877 and 8/12gb poco f3 is still going strong.

    *Dated specs
    *old gen Snapdragon
    *Poco F6 better value/price ratio

  • 8 gen2 is good.
My old poco x3 was decent for it's time

    • +1

My x3 pro still great today but it's been playing up for the past year or so. It will probably die soon, I been looking for the last 2 years at replacing it with another xiaomi but can't justify the price increase.

  • Thanks, got one - hard work though :) Messed about for ages trying and retrying codes, coupons, etc. Rejects you many times but have to be persistent. In the end was $623.13 minus $23.90 on Cashrewards, so just under $600 delivered. I know there's some Pixel 8 Pro deals on for around $1000, but I had a good look and this was better value imo.

This has a better cpu (Snapdragon vs Tensor), faster memory (4.0 vs 3.1), better screen, 256gb for base model instead of 128gb.Includes charger, screen protector and case. No telephoto camera but has OIS, similar main lens etc. I think the better screen and camera makes the F3 Pro the pick vs the F3, after seeing reviews. Thanks for posting.
