La Marzocco Linea Micra Coffee Machine + Pico Grinder + Bonus 6 Month Coffee Subscription $6,204.15 Delivered @ La Marzocco Home

280

This may not be everyone's cup of tea (or coffee in this case)…. Some might even neg me but go easy on me as this is my first post :)

For anyone that missed last years promotion. Not as good as compared to last year but still something. No 12 month free coffee subscription this time and no accessories kit.

I believe the 15 percent discount applies to individual home coffee machine purchases (excluding the new Linea Mini), home coffee machine + grinder packages (excluding the new Linea Mini) and the mazzer mini grinder.

Definitely not a cheap piece of machinery but a solid investment for those who want to take their home barista game to the next level. I'll be upgrading from a Breville Barista Express.

While stock lasts…

Delivered or pickup from Sydney or Melbourne.

Wife would definitely kill me and the bdb is still pulling!

    Need one in white!

    • I wish my bdb would die so I had an excuse to upgrade. But then again, also not because it makes damn good coffee.

Wife is not a must, remember.

      • -1

        Neither is this coffee machine.

  • +5

Very underwhelming grinder and very high RRP on it too, hardly a deal having to pay more with that grinder

    • +2

Sell the grinder for ~$700 and buy a different one perhaps?

    • Kaise - Keen to hear more from you if this based off your personal experience from owning a Pico?

I’ve tried both the Pico and Mazzer Mini B at the showroom and didn’t mind the Pico for its simplicity. The Mazzer felt….dated

    how is this a deal

    • +3

Same reason why amg and teslas are

  • -7

    Thanks Op, bought 6

NGL, 5800$ machine and no timer is something crazy. Whilst I do respect people who do buy this for the design aspect, in terms of performance aspect I still can't help feel its a very underwhelming puchase with no additional functions than a breville dual boiler.

OP, if you really wanted to up your coffee game, I might suggest you would post on coffeesnobs with what kind of features you want such as fast heat up time, dual boiler or HX, budget etc etc.

There are better machines than micra, the only thing micra provides is a saturated group head, fast heat up time. At this budget you have a lot of flexibility with additional things like flow control device, bigger boilers, pre infusion, post infusion. Even Crem one would be able to "up your coffee game".

Design aspect is the only main reason you would buy the micra.

I have to agree but buying a La Marzocco isn't about getting value, it's about buying into the brand. I feel like they're a little out of touch for pricing their machines so high with such few features. It's the same reason why Lamborghinis and Ferraris exist, every hobby has some prosumer level.

I agree, coming from a soon to be rocket r nine owner, its still crazy to me how la marzocco milks their consumers. The GS3 now super outdated with its design and honestly a failure for what was supposed to be a pressure profiling machine rather than a leaky o ring consuming machine, its surprising to me they wouldn't replace the GS3 with the new strada but instead put an insance price tag for it.

        The Lelit deal fleeces this

        • Absolutely, but I think everyone got a refund or some form of compensation because there was miscommunication for warranty liability between retailer and distributor contracts. Very sad, those machines were an absolute steal.

Nvidia wants you to help with their marketing

  • Worth it just for the free coffee

  • Very good price! But from the picture , it seems to be old model to me.

    • Both the micra and pico just got released last year

  • +9

Standalone Linea Micra for $5,099 is probably the better deal

  • I really want to drink a cup of coffee made by this machine to see what's so special about it.

    • +4

The coffee is consistent but it’s not dramatically better than other machines. You are paying for commercial build quality, great steam pressure and countertop brand value. I went from a gaggia classic pro with gaggiuino mod to the micra and honestly the espresso is the same. Making 5 drinks takes less than 10 minutes instead of 25 though.

  • +4

Last year’s Micra deal was much better.

$6000 for the Micra , Mahlkonig x54 ( much better grinder than the Pico) , 1 year St Ali coffee subscription and a welcome pack with scale , taping station goodies etc

    • +7

I think they're trying to get rid of their failed Pico grinder stock.

  • +2

I'm upvoting you because it's your first deal post, rather than because this is potentially relevant to me. Sharing is caring.

  • Tempting. Unsure what colour

  • +1

Thanks OP. Just ordered the Micra in blue. Always wanted one. Upgrading from a Silvia V6.

Came here to post the deal - was waiting for this for over 2-3 months as the staff indicated earlier in the year that they would put some offers out in the June. I ordered earlier in the week and picked it up from the store today (Bought Micra by itself for 5099, which is probably a better deal)

    • Also staff recommended BWT filter - If someone needs one - Amazon DE has the jug and 6 additional filters for 80 bucks.

    • Exciting! What colour? Mine got shipped today arriving tomorrow. Very keen.

After a bit of research on the Pico grinder, I ended up ordering the Micra and the Mazzer Mini B grinder individually which worked out to be $6,148.40

    • +2

Good price, plus you get the coffee beans for 6 months if I'm not mistaken.

  • +1

Good price on the Mazzer Mini B for anyone just chasing a grinder - on sale for $1049.25 incl shipping.

  • What water are people using with these machines and do you service it every year?
La Marzocco machines seem to have specific water requirements and want you to service is every year at a cost of around $500.

Any other non-e61 machines worth considering?

      • Thank you for taking the time to respond. It helps.

If the DBD was more aesthetically pleasing, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.

      • Interesting advice you received from LM re. descaling! Today i was advised at the Melbourne LM Showroom to never descale the machine myself.

In fact they dont recommend it at all and stressed on using filtered water.

Great news about not needing to get the insanely expensive service from them to maintain the warranty. Do you have that in writing from them?

        • You're right about the descaling part. No where does it say that in the manual.
I must've read something on it from somewhere else which would have caused me to think that. My bad, sorry for that. Do you also know why we shouldn't descale?

          Here's the email:

          "Hi XXX,

          Thanks for your email.

          The service is $499.
The cost does not fluctuate as we work off a checklist, and the service is preventative maintenance, rather than reactive maintenance (which means each service we do the same thing to prevent those parts from failing, rather that replacing them IF they have failed)
You do not need to service your machine for the warranty but it is highly recommended.

Broken down, the cost is $143 for call out, $143 for labour and $213 for parts.
Let me know if you have any other questions I can help with.

          Warm regards,
          Caitlin Bates"

@devisticshash: Saw this post from a member of LMLU Facebook page:

            Hi Derek,

            Thank you for reaching out!

We generally don't recommend prophylactically descaling our machines due to their complex hydraulic system. As he mentions in the video, this can cause bits of scale to clog things up.

You're already doing everything that we recommend to alleviate the risk, and that's really what we recommend.

            Prevention rather than reaction.

Draining your steam boiler monthly and using proper water should keep the scale down to a minimum in your machine, and in fact, a thin layer of scale is honestly a good thing as it can help protect the steel.

As long as it doesn't grow so much that the scale itself causes issues, it's okay, and what you're already doing will prevent that from happening

            Thank you!

            Cheers,
            Chris

  • Anyone cares to share their experience with the Micra?
Have looked at various forums/reddit and seems like Micra is mostly positive, consistent shot quality and built like a tank.
Only downside might be lack of pre-infusion (unless plumbed), no flow control, short steam wand, low clearance, reliance on app (e.g. changing brew temp), no shot timer etc. which aren't necessarily deal breakers.
Wondering if should bite the bullet and call it "end-game" (for now)
