  • Nice. Any thoughts on how this compares to the newly announced Pro version?

    • The Pro version has an updated DAC

      • Hey OP , Any chance for a discount for the Wiim amp pro ?

        • Hey @RaphTong if you use the coupon - WELCOME @ the checkout that will work for you. They are Pre Order and limited coming on the 1st shipment

    • "WiiM says the Amp Pro's updates are "based on customer feedback", and there are minor cosmetic updates to the compact design as well as "redesigned internal circuits". We hope that sound quality has been tweaked and improved as well, as we weren't too impressed with the Amp's sonic abilities compared with the wealth of features it packs into its petite dimensions. As before, the Class D amplifier outputs 60W per channel into 8 ohms, while the file resolution support has been upped to 32-bit/384kHz to be in line with the Ultra.

Both new WiiM units feature Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, built-in room correction technology, smart home integration, support popular Alexa/Google/Siri voice assistants, and are awaiting Roon Ready certification." (https://www.whathifi.com/news/wiim-ultra-and-wiim-amp-pro-ar…)

    WinAmp at home

They have WinAmp on speakers now?

  • Was $998

Was $890 on 27/5 so it's cheaper by $98, not $206 as the title suggests.

Edit: Title edited to now say RRP.

  • It really whips the llama's ass

Seriously though, these look great. Not in the market for one, but the feature set and performance is impressive

    • Just got one from the eBay deal at $389.
I'm blown away by how good it sounds! It's stunning for the money

It ass whips the real llama.

Damn - this deal sent me down an hour long Winamp company and founder history rabbit hole.

  • I was planning on waiting on the WiiM Ultra and then hooking that up to my Crown XLS 1002 amp, but would I be better off just getting this one?

  • Great deal 🤝

    Unrealted; but since the discussion has headed that way;

WinAmp is still my music player of choice; there's still nothing to dislike about it IMO.

Foobar2000 on the phone; but thats only because Winamp didnt port/clone well to Android.

    • On the phone been using Musicolet for years

      https://krosbits.in/musicolet/

Dude's Awesome for keeping it free and ad free for ages

      • Ooo that does look good.
And direct apk download too, points for that.

Ill see how it performs; foobar is just so lightweight.

Same price nearly everywhere! Wiim Amp is $420 at the following stores:

    Video Pro
    HeyNow HiFi
    CHT Solutions
    The HiFi Shop
    Premium Sound
    Lenc
    Audiotrends
    ApolloHiFi

    It's obviously a factory discount

    • HiFi stores in AU are sheep who follow their distributors orders. It's rare to find genuine, store specific deals (outside offloading demo stock & damaged boxes). The WELCOME code might be a differentiator here, but min. spend is $600.

      • Not sure there is any other stores offering the 2 pack for $792 ?

  • Hey guys, I’m looking to buy a set of Polk r200 from west coast hifi, I’m looking to set up a hifi stereo system for Apple Music via Apple TV, what amp or avr should I get to drive the Polk r200? Budget around 2k for speaker + amp.

    • +1

If you’re using it with a TV then you really can’t beat something with eARC so you can control with the TV remote. I’ve got a pair of R200 anniversary editions and they run well using a Sonos Amp. The Wiim amp doesn’t have as much juice but would do the job. Wiim’s software is great, I use the pro DAC in a headphone stack and it’s fantastic.

Hi @Alexender Chase echoing the comment above certainly one with eARC so you get the HDMI handshake for volume and control. If you are wanting more power than what the WiiM amp offers then the Denon DRA900 would be a great option
