This shaver is so crap - not even worth it for this price… I bought and returned within 60 days

Just for context, are you comparing it with any other shavers? Or was it's cutting ability just not what you were expecting? - I'm asking because I have a very cheap aliexpress shaver which is not great but does the job and have been thinking about getting one of these

    • Interesting because I have the Series 7 of this shaver which has a similar head. I can't see that there's too much difference but my Series 7 is the best shaver I've ever owned.

Got the shaver today, upgraded from Braun Series 3. The experience is so much better, shaves perfectly well, in my view

any thoughts on this one gentlemen?
my last Japanese Panasonic one has served me >12 years. feel like the battery is dying soon.

I was tossing up between this one and the Panasonic ES-LV67. Can't speak to the quality of the Braun one but I read reviews on this website: https://shavercheck.com/reviews/panasonic-es-lv67-review/ and got the Panasonic. You can also find reviews of the Braun one there.
I don't have long flat beard hairs, mine are all spiky and I don't let them get longer than a few mm. I wet shave with some shaving cream and get excellent close shave results without any skin irritation.

Panasonic ES-LV67 is roughly $300 more expensive than the Braun Series 5 when full price. Hard to compare.

But its "Leveraging the Japanese Samurai sword-making tradition, we’ve developed ultra-sharp nano-polished inner blades honed to an acute 30° enabling them to cut hair very close to the root." 😂

Of course but the OP was looking at moving from Panasonic to Braun. Just wanted to let him know that Panasonic still does a good job and will probably last another 12 years.
Also, there are listings on ebay for the Panasonic for $209 with a coupon code so only around $120 more.

        • I recommend getting the new Panasonic Arc 3-Blade series. All are made in Japan.

          Check review here: https://shavercheck.com/new-panasonic-arc-3/

Can second the LV67, got it from Kogan months back at $199 I believe, very good, I don't even use shaving cream.

      • I am indeed starting to look for the next one just in case it dies tomorrow. will look at the LV67 as well. The shavers are getting SO MUCH FANCIER now with all the whistles and bells. thanks heaps for all the input gents.

  • Tossing between this one and the Braun Series 7 B1200s. The price is tempting as it is half the discounted price of the Series 7 B1200s at around $200

Anyone used this to trim your beard? I have a beard trimmer (braun that just died, but was great for 7 years) and a reminton that I use the foil to trim my neck. But its annoying to have to have 2 shavers to get this done. I was looking at this as an option but don't know how it goes trimming and if it will rip my hair etc like the reminton attachments do.

Seems wild no one has a shaver that does both trim and clean shave

  • Its written made in germany in the box, but in amazon description origin of country is china?

    • +1

I think that's an old image.

See this comment from last deal.

      • Thanks, just FYI Series 7 source of country is Germany, looks like older models are being made in China

  • I was looking at this, but curious if anyone knows how this compares with the New Panasonic 3-Blade Wet & Dry Electric Shaver?

It's a little more, but I've been reading mixed reviews on the Braun 5. mostly positive but there are a few very vocal critics blaming the blade/foil quality (not lasting advertised 18 months)
