Not as good as last February's deal but I couldn't find a better currently valid deal for a 1 year subscription for The Guardian Weekly.
Only for new subscriptions.

I'm enjoying it at $20 but they don't tend to have much Australian news (which is fine, i don't buy it for that). I doubt I'll resubscribe unless it's $20 again.
Just goes to show that discounting doesn't necessary equal repeat customers. I took up the $20 offer last year and on the back of that, definitely wont be renewing at $129.
I took up the $20 offer, and have been really stoked at actually receiving "real" news again - so different from Australian papers. I would totally resubscribe at that price (not that I can, but you know).
I think I'd still go for $129 - that's only $2.50 per issue and considering the amount of content you get for the price of the local rag it's good. I got the $20 deal for my mother-in-law who pretty much reads it for the whole week.
However the $20 deal started in Feb.. hopefully I won't have to overlap subscriptions to get this price.
[EDIT] - spoke to soon.. looks like you can sign up right now for a start issue of Feb 2013I'd renew again for $20, but no way for $130…
Just interested - why 'no way'? Do you buy other newspapers? What's the price of The Age these days??
Just to add my reasons:
- I read plenty of news via RSS feeds of BBC Asia, ABC, Brisbane Times, Economist and miscellaneous blogs
- The only time i find myself reading it is at breakfast on the weekend and too often I'll forget
I guess everyone is different, if you sit down and read the news every day and want that on paper then it's a good deal.
I get The Age delivered for $99/6mth
I also get this….both prob a waste of paper…
The Guardian is stale news when it arrives, but the in depth coverage is interesting. No idea why neither offer cheap digital (non ipad) subscriptions.
Happy to read it on an android tablet if the App is actually made for the tablet.
They should take a leaf out of TheGlobalmail.org it's free & it formats differently depending on device/screen size, but is very readable & just as importantly has quality content.I get The Age delivered for $99/6mth

doesn't your age subscription include digital edition?

Yes, the Herald Sun delivered on Sat & Sun for $10 / 3 months…
I usually find 1 or 2 articles to read in The Guardian… sometimes i wont even read it during the week… I'd be happy to renew for another $20, but not worth it for me if it's much more than that…
Most of my news i get online or via Twitter…
I also have the $20 deal and got one for my folks also. I like the paper and the coverage, but it's a luxury. the new offer of $2.50 an issue is cheap, but it's not something I will pay.
I hope something better comes along in the new year.
I also took the $20 deal. But I don't think it's tempting enough at $129.50 tho. Not really a bargain.
Got the $20 deal last year.. hardly have time to read these days.. but the Guardian has one of the best websites of any paper in the world, so with the little spare time i do have to read these days, i'll just get my guardian fix for free online.
Many people on the $20 deal. Maybe we can approach them for a continuation deal if there is enough uptake?
That won't work.
I love it, but even weekly is too regualar for me. I'd love a monthly version. Mostly editorials and opinions as 'news' would mostly be 'olds' by the time the new edition comes out :)
I might have to consider a subscription. Often their coverage of Australian news (eg politics) is better than our local coverage!
