            While this isnt the tab s8 ultra it's the same snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that the tab s8 ultra has, if you look at this chart the between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 vs Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 looses a lot of performce as the device heats up which isnt present in the + variant and not in the newer gen 2 and gen 3 versions.

              @Axelstrife: fair enough. its basically just a portable tv / pdf markup device for me. does very well at that and i love the screen size for split screen

                @belongsinforums: It was fine for basic non intensive stuff like youtube, web browsing etc… all basic stuff but as soon as you did anything that would heat up the device it would get noticably laggy and in games the performance massively droped after 10-20 minutes. Outside it also got hot really quick and the screen dimmed to the point you couldnt really seen anything cause of the heat.

                Traded it in for the s9 the day preordered opened, night and day difference the experiance is between the two.

  Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 doesn’t have AV1 hardware decoder.

  If you watch a lot of youtube, expect worse battery life vs tab S9 (or anything on gen 2/newer). This will probably get worse and worse as google progressively re-encodes all their videos to AV1.

  Other than that, probably won’t notice any difference vs tab S9 in real life usage
