We have the same (or almost identical) model in black and absolutely love it. Have had it close to a year now and have never had cleaner clothes, highly recommend.
Should be dead in a couple of months then
Probably we should revisit this thread in a couple of months and the owner can let you know whether it's dead or not.
We got a floor/display model for around $400 just over a year ago now - very happy with the performance, and the phone notification helps to not forget to hang the clothes out. Reasonable noise level. As mentioned below, it takes both a hot and cold hose, so the efficiency might depend on your hot water system.
FYI: Not OLED
No band 28 either.
Did they stop exploding and catching fire?
That was the top loaders. Have a Samsung front loader and it’s starting to go rusty around the detergent draw. I’ll buy a Bosch or Miele when it dies
I had the same problem and I hit mine with a bit of Penetrol and it's been fine. I could touch it up but I couldn't be arsed
Did they stop the drums corroding due to intentional galvanic corrosion to kill it outside of warranty?
Mine had this issue at around 5 years, I fixed it for about 200 bucks, and the replacement part was double the thickness (it was the spider that holds the drum, not the drum, the drum is stainless while the spider is zinc). Over soaping may have contributed, was in a rental, and I feel a lot of people always just put a full load of soap in even when they are doing a half load, or they just fill the tray, no one reads anymore
About 2 years later the rubber hoses were replaced, cost me another 50 bucks. Going strong now
Is the door hinge plastic or metal on this?
Metal coloured plastic
Had extremely bad experience with good guys online order delivery… Be careful you if you need the old machine removed you need to select the premium delivery service - which was neither available nor unavailable when I try to order any washing machine. The delivery just says delivery without any detail… My location is definitely not an issue for such service. I couldn't speak to a human to clarify or amend the delivery method, because online order is a different department compare to physical stores.
The delivery men arrived, unfriendly and kept telling this is delivery only and he wanted to leave the new machine outside my door and also doesn't want to move my old machine even from the laundry. I had to tell him I had no trolley or assistance to move a washing machine so he reluctantly dumped my machine on my lawn, and I had to figure out how to move it to the nature strip for recycling.
It was a stressful experience. And I found other retailers like appliance online all have delivery, installation, removal of packaging and old machine either included or can clearly select as an option.
How is the washing machine tho?
Mine was a different brand. Hower I also had a Samsung 10 years ago and the pipes internally broke after 3-4 years. About $200 to fix.
I don't think many people expect good guys online delivery to help you install or remove your washing machine. Unless it's specifically states includes installation and removal of old washing machine. Similar to Ikea how we don't expect Ikea to do these services unless stated. This kind of sounds like it's on you tbh
I didn't expect the service of disconnect or install the machine on site. I disconnected the old machine prior their arrival, and don't mind install the new one myself. — all I needed is their help to move the old machine out of the laundry, even this I was met with a cold face.
I don't mind if people just want basic delivery with no added services. However the online order gave no details of what is or what is not included if people had the specific need for the added services. Don't mind paying a reasonable fee either. I just want to point out the no info and no customer service is very concerning.
There is a tick box for premium delivery for online orders.
Upgrade to premium delivery
Includes the delivery and unboxing of your product and the removal of your old item and all included packaging
What is Premium delivery?
Premium delivery is The Good Guys upgraded delivery service. The Good Guys will deliver the product you have purchased into your home, unpack it from the box, then take away all packaging for you as well as removing your old product.
Premium delivery is available for large kitchen appliances, laundry appliances, air conditioners, desktop computers and selected small household appliances.
Premium delivery is not available for televisions, entertainment units, portable appliances, technology products and accessories.
Standard charges apply for single storey dwellings, additional charges may apply for dwellings with stairs. If you have purchased Premium delivery and would like your old product to be taken away, it must be fully disconnected or uninstalled and be readily available for easy removal upon delivery of your new product.
Please note that installations are not included as part of the delivery price. Please click here to refer to The Good Guys Home Services web page for more information.
The delivery issues should of been sorted by yourself prior to order. This applies to Harvey Norman, JB-Hi-Fi as well. Good Guys has online chat, telephone support number and both will also refer to the store in charge of the appliance delivery. This also allows to purchased from their eBay store.
If it is not stated as part of the purchase, there should not be an expectation that the courier will need to do more than what they have been contracted in payment to do.
@BlueGlowOne: There wasn't a premium delivery for me to tick , nor a note saying premium delivery is not available. It is just "Delivery". Therefore it was extremely confusing what is included in the service. I even tested by selecting various products to do a mock order and all had the same issue of no other delivery method or info to it.
I wanted to find out what services delivery includes and I also read the terms and condition and that's the point I found out about the premium service tier and it contains what I needed. However with out the pricing listed I also don't know what I paid is standard or premium by default.
I ordered the machine Tuesday night for Thursday delivery. That left only Wednesday to figure it out. I tried to call good guys several times and on hold for over 10min each only to be put back to select options, and searched online solutions but no prevail. I have a busy job so I couldnt continue follow up during business hours and beyond.
It's one thing to dig out the t&c and say it is this way. However in my scenario (could be a one off, who knows) it happened the way that is not the SOP described in T&C.
I don't wish to go back and forth any further. Just sharing my experience in case anyone is putting an online order and keep an eye out.
@Andysjunks: Yes , it’s obviously vague on purpose .
This is the good guys management style hangover.
Jb needs to get in there and turn that place around from a Harvey Norman clone to more Aussie/American style service like the core JB-Hi-Fi business .
Do you also expect your postie to collect your mail when they make their daily deliveries?
Or the masseuse at Endota Spa for a quick hand job at the end of the 1 hour pampering pack?
It’s not in their job description.
I always try to buy from Appliances Online even if I don’t need the item to be replaced removed. Much better service than TGG, JB.
for the price of some of those packages it's almost rude that a handjob isnt included.
+1 for AO much better service and usually install+remove old appliance included
Sorry to hear about your experience. I recently bought a fridge from Good Guys Online (arranged a price beat) and without thinking, paid for standard delivery. I then realised that as I needed to move my old fridge to the garage (as I'd be selling it), I'd likely need to pay for premium delivery as I had a feeling they'd refuse to do this with standard delivery. I called the online Good Guys phone number and they were able to change it and they didn't charge extra either.
Thought this was a yoyo looking at the picture. Got more excited than i should have.
I don’t think reviews are great for this one :(
ozbargain is not a website for reviews
Honestly, don't trust a Samsung washing machine. They're created to die. Google it.
yeah Samsung whitegoods are not good.
Had many failed in the past, after warranty.
Our last one lasted 10 years perfectly, and we only sold it due to upgrade.
Current one recently had an issue with pump motor, and they repaired it for free even though it was past warranty period.
They aren't perfect, but value for money and performance has been fine overall for us.
I’ve always been for top loaders so I can add things to the wash as it goes. Is this standard on all front washers now too? This one is marked as not having Add Wash TM so does that mean once it’s kicked off nothing can be added?
Front loaders have been able to do this for over 15 years or more.
I have a 2022 samsung front loader, that has a small door that can be opened in middle. Just to insert in middle of wash, you have to pause and resume before doing it.
Until Samsung introduced the 'Add Wash' feature (a little door on the main front door), I used to be frustrated by this too. That being said, it's not standard and only comes on the more expensive models. I had it on my 8.5kg Samsung purchased in 2016 but when I bought my 12kg Samsung in 2022, it didn't have it. That being said, the 12kg Samsung is pretty happy for things to be added to it for up to 5 minutes after it starts. The Samsung I had pre 2016 would nearly always refuse to open, after it started.
Are you sure this model is marked add wash?
I don't believe it is. It does not have the extra door.
How hard is it to say delay start on these to run on of peak hours at night? I don't see any buttons. Should I use app every time?
Easy enough to use the app to schedule specific times you want.
Touch buttons on the washing machine are there for normal use though.
I searched for smart things dryer schedule but couldn't find any. Any link?
Looks like I have it at it manually on the app every time I use
I manually set it on app each wash. Not sure about dryer though sorry
@Chopstix: Yeah, that's what I meant, you have set it up manually each time. Which is a pain, my dishwasher just has a 3, 6, 9 hour buttons.
Is this the one that doesn’t have a heat pump and you have to to connect both hot and cold water ?
Does any washing machine have a heat pump?
Aren’t they all simple electric element heaters?
Yes, 2 hose to hot and cold taps.
this is the lowest range of Samsung washing machine. Price is good.
Yes, this is what I meant. I recently bought one of these for my parents and wasn’t aware of this. They were annoyed because all the other models they’ve had used a single hose, and since they rely on gas for water heating, this could mean higher running costs.
Just don't turn on the hot tap and let the machine heat the water.
Do we have a recommendation for a cheap dishwasher?
Chux
I bought the 11kg size for @520 last week during samsung sale, still waiting for delivery , i didn't post it here as i saw the sale on the very last hour ,
I used it with the amex offer to get this price
Which model did you get?
The WW11CG604DLE is $960.
WW11CGC04DAESA , samsung sale -350, old washing machine not workingtrade in -150, loyalty discount -80 , amex offer-100, final value 520
Thanks
We had the top loader years ago and they replaced due to that fire possibility and the new fancy looking one only lasted two years have a Bosch now much better. Wouldn't buy a Samsung washer again. The Bosch was around 1k tho
Samsung and washing machine… Umm
Anyone who is interested in buying this washing machine should consider price matching it with appliances online. I will attach the link below. https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/samsung-9kg-fron…
Good price, $50 cheaper than the best I could find in February.
I'm happy with this washing machine having used it for a bit over a month.
My last Samsung lasted over 15 years and replaced it with this model.
I like the phone notifications when the washing is done, and the ability to see via the app when it will be ready.
