Given the slow sales of Aldi's snow gear this year, I'm guessing people are feeling the pinch…

    • No joke walked through an ALDI today and the entire middle section looks full of winter gear.

Felt like a disturbance in the force

about the same price as a 2 beers at perisher :/

    • Or 1/4 of a day on the slopes at Thredbo

      • $200 for a day pass!! :O

I remember it being a tad under $100 and that was still on the expensive side…

        • Its $250 at perisher if you don't buy ahead for a day pass during 'peak' times and over $200/day even with ahead purchased multi day passes

Getting crazy to get dragged up a hill a few times.
Be cheaper to go to Disneyland at this rate :)

      2 beers at perisher

Make sure you drink them before they perish

  • Haven't been to Selwyn?
Will it have lots of snow this year?

    • It’s Australia (and the weather gets shitter every year). Never “lots” of snow anywhere here.

Selwyn is where I went as a kid over 30 years ago. As a Brisbane kid on a road trip, I loved it. But it is kid/family focused.

Went to Perisher about 7 years go and that’s where I’d go back to as an adult if I had to snowboard in Australia again.

But Japan would be my first pick. Staying in Tokyo and day tripping to the snow sounds like a match made I heaven to me.

*If you can't be assed reading, summary:

El Nino (drought) out, LA Nina (moisture in)…yay…BUT.. temps are higher..so likely more rainfall. So a snowing yay….rain washing snow away booo..snowing again yay…raining ..boo… season.

I went in 09 when basically no Australians were holding there. Don’t tell me it’s become the new bogan destination like Bali?

          • @PainToad: It definitely has…I went to Hakuba the year before it was added to the Epic pass; amazing, almost all locals and just all round great time. Went the following year after it was added and had to deal with drunk aussies in high vis running and screaming through the village, demanding seats at book only restaurants etc. Definitely put a damper on the trip for sure; went to get away from that behaviour

Ok I'll cancel my trip then, Gate Keeper

    • can't predict the weather, but they have snow machines just like all snow resorts.
