  I looked in to this, doesnt look like the firmware has PPPoE or IPoE for our internet providers. the asus guides suggesting doing this through windows. Has anyone got experience with this?

    Do you mean xt8 in general or this deal specifically? And what do you mena by doing it theough windows? That you need to have a windows machine to upload the firmware?

    What makes you think it doesn't support PPPoE or IPoE?
    See their demo UI: https://demoui.asus.com/Advanced_WAN_Content.asp

    Just change the WAN connection type from Automatic IP (ie IPoE) to PPPoE.

    Looking at amazon, it seems you can get an xt9 for less than this… us stock… but is the updated wifi and 2.5gb port worth the nerf on power bands?
