This is going to take my feet video onlyfans to the next level - at least under they work out the kinks with smell-o-vision

    • +2

Don't forget your pedicures. This records in 6k……so everything will be high res.

    • -1

Woohoo~ now I can become the 6K pron director, just like you. yay

  • -4

    Camera 'Body'…..

    • +5

      ??

Buying just the body without a lens is pretty standard?

    • That’s normal terminology in photography. Based on the OnlyFans jokes, I’m guessing BlackMagic cameras are popular with content creators there?

    • +2

The comment is pointing out the deal is only for the camera body - this Ozbargain deal post does not mention that at all. (I have reported it, so the post may be updated by the time you read my comment.)

  • +1

It's also available at all BMD dealers.

Great price for what it is, with the new Pyxis incoming.

  • What’s the lens price like for these?

    • The mount type is in the title, go look at the range (almost 80 different lenses) and see what suits you

    • +2

      if you have to ask….

      don't buy it.

      • You'd have about 5 active members on this site if that was a rule

    Great deal

how does this compare to my circa 2000 3.2mpx fixed lens fuji camera? cost about the same..

    • +13

Your Fuji camera will be silver. This one is black.

      • +2

        and magic, apparently.

    • fixed lens fuji camera

Your Fuji is probably worth more to scalpers on ebay :p

    • bad news, with inflation your camera costs more!

  • I highly recommend a Sony A7 series, even for a only fans setup, much more versatile and easier to find parts for.

    • That a recommendation from a content creation or viewer perspective 🤔

      • Both, I do weddings.. much harder than a still camera in a room.. on a tripod.

        • what sony 7? any?

          • +1

@ilove: I use the standard A7III for everyday use, but for film the A7S III is up there as the best. Don't fall for the temptation of going '8k' of some of the newer crap.

            • +4

@tightm8: I just sold my A7iii and got S5IIX for a pretty good price. It's more like a hybrid shooter and so far love it.

        • +1

          Do you also do honeymoons?

    • They’re great, and certainly have their place. But I far prefer a Blackmagic for filmmaking.

  • Great, OF here I come!

    (see what I did there)

At same price Sony A7cii has:

    *Newer much better sensor technology
    *Amazing AI autofocus
    *Smaller body
    *Full frame
    *7 stop IBIS
    *10 bit 4K at 60Hz
*Better dynamic range, better low light
    *Fantastic lens line up

Plus can double up as a great Photography camera as well.

Why would someone need this apart from 6K? I don't really get it.

    • +8

Totally agree with all of these very valid points there, especially for a run and gun content creator.

For a dedicated film maker though, there are some key advantages:

      Timecode
      Shutter Angle
BRAW (a more robust codec) and integration with Resolve
      XLR inputs
      Much cleaner UI
Generally easier footage to grade if you nail exposure

      • Yup. To put it simpler: Blackmagic is putting most of the money into Video image quality. Where Sonys are putting the money into being an all rounder. Both have their places. For those who don't know why they'd want a Black Magic, they'd probably be happier with the Sonys.

Videography, studio setup, or cinematography, & for a bunch of professional grade controls & features designed for video, that the a7cii is limited & does not have.

Nothing wrong with L mount (Leica, Panasonic, Blackmagic and Sigma), for current & future lens selection. Plus, not relying on AF & being designed for video. Native glass isn't as much of a factor.

Your option of an a7cii is great, but it is also a different tool, designed for a different purpose. That does not fulfill the needs that BMCC6k users have.

a7cii is a great, compact, hybrid tool.

It would help if you compared the BMCC6K to a more video centric camera with similar features.

Note: a7cii has a significant crop factor at 4k60, plus a bunch of other issues when being considered for a full-time, videography setup.

The most straightforward answer is that Blackmagic 6k is a pure video camera, targeted at cinematography. Sony A-whatever is first and foremost a hybrid camera catered to a diverse market.

Blackmagic has features that cinematographers want that the Sony consumer won’t care or know about. Like the guy above said, there are various features that give the Blackmagic its advantage. For people who care enough about things like colour quality or anamorphic, they will want more than the 4:2:2 10-bit that Sony offers.

If you don’t get it, you’re not their market. Simple.

Blackmagic is a niche industry camera. It shoots more professional codecs, external ssd recording, really nice cinema tones and davinci studio.

Honestly it's apples and oranges. Sony will give you a better all in one package. BMPCC requires more of a full rig cinematography set up.

    • +1

      Different tools for different purposes.

    • Don't forget the Blackmagic comes with a 5 inch 1080p 1500 nit screen and free version of Davinci Studio worth $400 I believe…

  • +3

Does this one transform into Optimus Prime?

  • +2

Saying a hybrid camera can do the same job as the Black Magic, is like saying a phone can do the same job as a hybrid camera. Yeah, but nah.

  • damn.. son pulled a trigger on a used one just last Friday.

Whats the deal between all these cameras with similar names?
    - Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K
    - Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2
    - Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro
    - Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K (Leica L)
Are these designed for to be used differently? Is it worth paying more for the Leica L camera?
