Honestly quite excellent travel guitar for the money, I got it for $273 and felt like it was a good deal. At under $200 it's a steal.

    Refurbished?

    • "This refurbished unit arrived without the left stand. See item 7 in the drawing.".. that gives some indication….

      • One comment out of about 3000. Everyone has QA issues, even Fender and Gibson. It's the after-sales support that is important, ie did they ship the missing part afterwards?

There are only 5 reviews for this item. The other 2000+ reviews are for the seller and not for the product.
          Here is one other comment.
From all the reviews I thought I was getting something special - but compared to a decent 6 string guitar (and I have a few) it just does not cut it. The up-spec model, which is a lot more expensive, facilitates inserting and unclipping the metal attachments; whereas the Hush-I requires bolting and unbolting whenever you wish to assemble or dismantle the guitar. A bit painful really - so I have left it just sitting in the corner.

          • @Ronney: to be fair this’s a review of the item itself as distinct from the condition of the item

            • @0jay: @0jay I agree. I was interested in the guitar but never noticed that it is refurbished (I didn't know Donner themselves sold refurbished items) until kirt mentioned it. It was then I scrutinized the reviews and found the two negative reviews and that kept me from buying this.

          • @Ronney:

This is why I never trust reviews. What was this person expecting for $180 guitar? A Les Paul?
I don't have this guitar so can't comment, but for $180 if it plays you are getting your money's worth.

            • @1st-Amendment: @1st-Amendment I agree with you on that part. However the part I was interested was the attachments clipping. I saw the video showing that it is straightforward but this review suggests that the video is not for this model.

@Ronney: I just got mine. It only came with the bottom attachment which is all I need. The attachment will sit in the hole without the screw but it swivels around a bit. It only takes 10 seconds to screw or unscrew so not that big of a deal. For $160 it's a good spare guitar.

                • @1st-Amendment: Thanks @1st-Amendment. That's good. I thought fixing the attachment was difficult.

  • Yeah, say refurbished, anyone use there refurb gear? Worth the discount? Or were there issues with quality control.

    • A comment in ebay mentions missing parts.

Been waiting for a deal like this for a long time. I’ve never had a problem with a refurbished item so IMO it’s an absolute steal. Looks like they’re selling all colours so I grabbed a black one. Thanks OP.

Be sure to come back and post a review. I was thinking of getting one but honestly already have more guitars than I need. The idea of a silent travel guitar sounds appealing, especially for practice when other people are around and don't want to hear your noise.

Just received the guitar. First impression - it looks basically brand new. No dents or weird marks in the body, no parts missing, all wrapped up in plastic and some paper around the strings. If you told me that they accidentally shipped me a brand new one, I would’ve believed you. Very nice.

On closer inspection, the allen key was pretty grimy and also some of the holes on the side are filthy (not a guitar expert, sound holes?) so it’s definitely a refurb unit.

Did a couple sound tests and it sounds pretty good. A lot less silent then what I expected from a silent guitar even after reading about it. I’d rate it a 8/10 overall. Good purchase for the price. It’s great if you’re lacking space to store an acoustic guitar or if you got thin walls. I actually found it more comfortable to play without the metal attachments but they were easy to put on.

        • Sounds good. I just ordered one thanks to this review. It's now $160 with the MAYG20 code, so an even better bargain.

Mine just arrived. The guitar looks great in black, reminds of the old Steinberger headless bass from the 80's.
It's little bit quieter than an unplugged electric but not much. Through headphones it sounds good enough fro noodling and practice which is what it is designed for. At $160 I'd recommend it just to have as a spare lying around

Oh man I jumped the gun and bought it but now it looks to be $160 with code MAYG20. I was too fast :(

    • Can’t you cancel and reorder?

      • +1

They added a tracking code like 2 hours after I bought it so it’s technically “posted” now. Just waiting on their reply now to cancel the order.
