Thanks OP. The Good Guys are selling it for $41.

Lots of reviews on that list in show people don't like this bag seems quality is not that good and may potentially rip easily ? and the design of the straps is bad and annoying

      • as in the zippers being like that as a 'anti-theft?' feature but seems just hassle instead ?

      • +4

I own one of these and use it regularly, it's no problem at all.

        • +1

will it really depends how owners treat theirs? Lots of reviews said its sh|t not last long

          • +2

@kaikor: I bought one last round of discounts for my daughter to start uni. It was 3 weeks before it was sent to Salvos and she reverted to my trusty old Crumpler. Avoid

            • @chimpinsox: Yeah we got other brands like Nike, Puma or Adidas, they all holding on good and still going, never tried any laptop brand backpacks.

      • +4

This looks like the bag that appears on OzBargain every 3 months at the same price.

It always gets the same feedback here, some people love it, some people think it's a badly designed low quality POS. I am in the second camp- bought on on a deal, tossed it into a donation bin.

Some people seem to enjoy the fact that you have to mess with the shoulder straps every single time you want to open the pack, they think it's a 'security feature.' I think it's a bad design compromise for having a low quality zipper that might break in the first place.

        • I see I see. I was tempted to buy this would be good for a second bag so I can have some bags just ready to go for certain activities but guess I'm sticking with my current dell bag which is like the gaming 15 one or something https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/dell-reflective-gaming-la…

pretty sure i got this of some ozbarg deal proabbly dell website then as well idk

          • @AndrewMTG: I checked that one out in JB Hifi and it was much better quality than the cheapo bag.

Frankly, I would sooner buy a cheap Decathlon bag than the one listed in this deal. Materials are better. In fact, we have several Decathlon bags at home and use them (not for laptops though), but I tossed the Dell after a day.

            • @rumblytangara: What are these 'Decathlon' bags you speak of?

I think my friend sold me a bike well actuall it was free that's from Decathlon, is it that sports looking place or smth? they sell bikes and sport stuff and decathlon bags?

Can you send some links of the products u talking bout r they good maybe I'll look into one haha

              • @AndrewMTG: Uh, not sure if serious or sarcastic :)

I thought everyone knew what Decathlon is… EU based cheap sporting goods store than opened up in Oz?

                https://www.decathlon.com.au/c/mountain-sports/hiking-trekki…

Their cheap bags are… cheap but not absolute garbage. Surprisingly decent.

No idea if any have laptop sleeves. I wouldn't use one for a laptop without an additional padded case- very few bags on the market have properly design sleeves for laptop protection imo.

                • @rumblytangara: Yeah nah haha I actually didn't know what decathlon was . My friend gifted me that decathlon bike but had no idea it was from like a store didn't realise they had their whole like store i actually picked up those $5 like sport hoodies from.t he decathlon in boxhill i think? Haven't worn them yet tho and my mum was like not worth the purchase Hahahha i gott like 6 of them they seem to be pretty thin fabric hoodies so idk… just in the boxes i got em still haha no point refunding really i feel ceebs travelling otherside vic for me to return em so ye

            • @rumblytangara: Yeah seems I got it off amazon baxk dec ish https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/809584

Definitely a prett nice bag and gosh dang on amazon it's like $83 right now good thing i got for less than half that!

My sort of issue or pet peeve with it is I got like a metal waterbottle and it seems.to fall out easily the side pocket things aren't very good at keeping bottls of water in cuz sometimes when moving to fast or if i bend down a bit or whatevrr it falls easily lol

        • I have mine for a year and with the shoulder strap design, I find that I actually dont have to close the zip as much, I however have only a 13" laptop though, put it in and carry the backpack even on one shoulder. The traditional backpack if you dont zip it up, the laptop will fall back with its own weight and slide out.

I always assume when I read reviews for an item on sale that they are reviewing it at its full price, so I'd be upset with the quality for that price.

For $13.30 it should be fine though.

      • +4

I've had this bag for 2-3 years now and the quality is just fine. It's a $13.30 bag, please set your expectations accordingly. Been using it to carry my thinkpad, charging cables, notebooks, plus few other smaller items. Just don't keep too many items in the front pocket so the bottom(on the inside) won't rip. It's still good after it's ripped, in fact, it's better with more space.

        • Lol so is the front compartment actually like smaller so maybe an A5 book?

and yeah I got my lenovo x1 carbon 14in think pad that could work well w this bag

          • @AndrewMTG: It's about half the size of the main compartment. I kept using it after it's ripped and it's fine for me. :)

            • @jaydee4: how does it work if it's ripped lol i imagine the space as like 50-60% of the 100% like if was a square the normal maim one is 100% and the front is 50-60% of that right

          • @AndrewMTG: The idea of putting an X1C into one of these Dell bags makes me wince.

It's like drinking a fine wine straight from the bottle, wrapped in a brown paper bag :)

            • @rumblytangara: LOLL whattss that meannnn?

              • @AndrewMTG: X1 Carbons a beautifully constructed flagship machines with magnesium frames, and you're gonna carry it in something that's one step up from a K-mart shopping bag :D

                (jk)

                • @rumblytangara: Lol well ye nah i haven't through this bag aye

Got my dell gaming bag for the x1 carbom but i haven't gone anywhere really…

Is the X1 Carbon that cool? I just got it secondhand lol, was around $300 I believe … I do see the cool two type c ports, thought it came with a bigger tablet pem but didn't realise there's like a cool.small one thst fits in the actual case of tbe laptop
                  … Intel i5-10210U thoooo.

                  • +1

@AndrewMTG: The X1 Carbon is pretty much the flagship of the Thinkpad line- very thin, very well built. Only problems are the meh screen quality/brightness which is standard for Thinkpads, and that RAM is soldered and not upgradable.

It's a lightweight, well built business laptop. It's not wow gamerz machine with LED backlighting, but it's got reputation for reliability.

                    • +1

@rumblytangara: yeah i tried to run league of legend 1fps 😂😂

yeah mines an 8gb model … bit of a shame that. wish it had 16gb ram

  • +1

Any bargain for 17 inch bag?

  • +2

Very basic bag. Quality doesn't seem great. Would not buy again.

    • +2

material, labor, manufacturing costs ,shipping /logistics , finally profit ( if there is any ) & selling $13 :)..

    • +1

Doesn't look to have any compartment or pockets either so not very practical.. stick to an actual laptop bag that can store peripherals better than this cheap looking padded back pack

    • +2

      It's a $13 bag…………..

      • Yeah just want to let people know that it's a bit crap. Cheap or not.

        • It's a $13 bag…………..

  • +3

I've bought two of these, only two pockets is ok for a while, until you start adding pens, sanitiser, tissues, keys, headphones, charger, cables. You'll end up digging for things constantly.

  • Thanks, OP. Got one.

  • +7

I have no idea why I purchased this

    • +1

Dont worry ,, i did the same many times on this.. I am sure you will find some use cases :)

    • for the price it's a padded laptop bag, I ordered 2, I throw them in the wash nad wanted the 2nd one while first is drying. They aren't ultra large, but I'm not going to buy another crumpler.

  • Have a 15.6" laptop. Hopefully this fits!

    • +2

It should - it fits my Acer Nitro 5 which is 15.6"

      • +1

Oh great. Thank you for letting me know!

  • Your call, but just don't. Mine only lasted months before becoming ripped.

Better than nothing for sure, but spend a little more….

  • I've gotten at least 1 a year with the tri monthly deal.

This version is the only one i wont get. the zipper access being behind the shoulder straps was too annoying.

  • I was deceived, never again

  • +1

Price gone up to 14.30 now

    • Inflation entered the chat

  • +2

I've been using mine for the last 2-3 years and no issue with it.
    Quality is good.
    Pretty roomy.
Easily fits my 13inch laptop + 11inch ipad pro + others.

Only real downside is the side net pockets - very tight squeeze for retractable umbrella. Hardly fits a water bottle.

  • I have the same backpack and the slightly more expensive gaming backpack. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/701110

The gaming backpack is way better, I'd buy another if it goes on sale again.

    • -2

      "way better"
      Thanks for your contribution

  • I purchased this bag a while ago on an Amazon deal. The bag is excellent - the zip and zip stitching is really really terrible and lets the bag down. Only buy this if you will be happy with 6 months use before it deteriorates. Does have a 3 year warrranty if you can be bothered.
