      you didn't have to rate it down, the poster had shipping in the total so you should have looked at a price of $196 delivered not $196 and delivery

    If we purchase a HDD separately from the case, will that give us a 3 year warranty on the drive?

    Does Seagate still provide 5 year warranties for their drives?

    I'd rather buy a separate case if it means I get more than a year's warranty on my HDD.

      Yes, I'd be very surprised that a WD HDD comes with only 1yr warranty, not 3yr.
