My cross the street neighbour asked me last night but I was not sure so I'll check with Braintrust here and hopefully you guys can help her. Poor single woman with special son.
She was at railway station car park. Reserved her car and scratches the car behind. She was at fault. Left her detail. The car owner called her and process the claim through insurance.
Then she was told by someone at work that do not claim through insurance as the scratches does not worth it. She was increased her excess fee ($1350) for lower premium when purchases the policy. The scratches can be done with few hundred dollars.
($1350 excess fee + Next year Premium).
The problem here is she already called up the claim hotline and they have issue her a claim number. She also contact the other party and they are happy to privately settle.
Can she call insurance to un-do the claim? She is with Budget Direct.

Why doesn’t she just call and get it straight from the source ? I assume she called to lodge originally?
