I kind of agree with her. Wanting the concept of a female to not be erased in favour of a gender concept of a woman isn't exactly a hot take, or it shouldn't be anyway.
Calm down mate you're about to be labelled a bigot and cancelled
What's the alternative? I still have no idea how you can draw a meaningful line that isn't wishy-washy, given we live in a free country where people can (ideally) express themselves however they like
If you draw it at biology (male=man and female=woman), then you just end up with the concepts of man and woman completely overlapping, which seems even more useless than the current feels-based definition. If you draw a line that includes someone like Aryan Pasha in the women's change room, then you've completely lost the plot.
Profile pic checks out.
you can play the game without supporting holocaust deniers
Great fan service for the Harry Potter generation. Hogwarts and surrounding areas are fantastically realised in great detail. It is a lot of fun to explore Hogwarts. The story about “ancient magic” is alright but not spectacular. It certainly does not level up to the complexity of the Voldemort plot in the Harry Potter novels.
The side quests are forgettable and quickly get boring. The entire world is so densely populated with large spiders, wolves, trolls, “pouchers”, goblins and dark wizards that is no sense of mystery left.
But no matter - you won’t do anything wrong for this price.
The school is easily the highlight of the game. They should've focused more on that instead of the bland open world and simplistic combat.
The school was always the highlight of the franchise, probably because the author was an ex-teacher and knew how to detail it all out enough to make it feel real. The actual wizard war stuff is pretty generic and uninteresting, and the later parts of the story where it devolves into wizard fights using wands as guns isn't all that interesting to me as the school stuff and more open ended magic possibilities was.
Agree. I still played the story to its conclusion. And it was not terrible. Generally delving into the history of magic is a worthwhile subject to explore. They needn’t have introduced the “ancient magic” concept when the Harry Potter novels leave more than enough existing ideas unexplored. Also, the villains in Hogwarts Legacy are just plain laughable. Nobody perceives goblins as real threats and also not the cartoonishly thuggish dark wizards. Speaking of which: the world is riddled with dark wizard camps that busy themselves with illegal dark magic. As the player, you make your character commit mass murder on countless foes with no consequences. That’s just silly.
I very much hope that a possible Hogwarts Legacy successor parts ways with the open world concept - at least outside of the locations that people know from the books and movies. A more linear and story-oriented setup would be a better fit.
Is deluxe worth it?
No, not unless you really want to ride the dead horse as well as the Hypogriph. You get them as pets regardless and riding is just a novelty vs the broom.
How's this run on steam deck?
That is a question that no one else on the internet has ever answered - but I sure hope that someone on OzBargain has tried this before and can help you out
I hope so too. Patiently waiting.

tl;dr stable 30-40fps on low settings
just purchased and am downloading.
will report back tomorrow, but for what it's worth, the game is steam deck verified (green tick) - meaning that it should run pretty flawless overall.

To run AAA games on SD, settings has to be set to low.
