  • Is this per transaction?

  • Yes

And no use of gift cards (probably)

    • The only ones confirmed won’t work in conjuction with GC are Coles, CWH, and Big W.
Amazon should still stackable as I used this method the other day on 23/04/24 and they both still tracked fine, base and StG bonus, including 0% categories.

      • +3

Westpac 10% bonus on 05/05/24, I make part of GC payment, bonus didn’t tracked

    • +1

Will need to try and get a definite answer from @gotyourback

      • For Amazon can we make part of GC payment? Is still qualify for cashback? Please confirm @gotyourback

        • Hey @cynical17 @Kathiepink Just a heads up about gift cards and Cashback. You can only score that sweet Cashback on gift cards you buy directly through ShopBack (on our app or website).

If you snag a gift card elsewhere, it won't count towards Cashback. Just want to make sure you're getting the most out of your shopping!

          • @gotyourback: I bought the GC from ShopBack before, but now it become Amazon GC balance, so if I use the balance and part of St George card, is qualified for cashback and St George bonus? @gotyourback

            • @Kathiepink: @Kathiepink yes since the GC was purchased from ShopBack, you should be eligible for both Cashback and St. George Bonus

              • +1

@gotyourback: I don't think this is correct - there is no way to distinguish the origin of gift cards held in Amazon balance AFAIK

                @gotyourback:
Are you talking about the case of purchasing giftcards
                Or
Using giftcards held in Amazon balance?

              • @gotyourback: But few days ago, the westpac bonus 10%, I paid part of GC purchased from ShopBack, and part of Westpac payment, the bonus didn’t tracked

                • @Kathiepink: Hey @Kathiepink could you drop us a DM so we could look into this for you

                  • @gotyourback: @gotyourback this also happened to my transactions. I had 2 transactions. One that was paid with no gift cards and with the St George card only, and the other transaction with part gift cards and with the St George card. They both initially tracked, but has now been rejected.

                    • +1

@cynical17: Hey @cynical17! You got it! We're on the case investigating this issue as it impacted few users. Don't worry, I'll keep you all in the loop with updates ASAP!

                      • @gotyourback: Thanks @gotyourback for investigating. I also noticed an ebay transaction that I made on 30th September 2023 that was also part of the Westpac bonus has also since been rejected. This was purchased with my Westpac card only and no gift cards used. This also initially tracked, but has since been rejected too. Please help

                        • @cynical17: Hey @cynical17, can you drop us a DM with all the details to checked further on this?

              • @gotyourback: We're talking about buying using a GC as part payment, not buying a GC. Can you clarify this is what you mean?

                • -2

@NotBritishorUK: Hey @NotBritishorUK, using a Gift Card as part of the payment is eligible for Cashback as long as the Gift Card used is purchased through ShopBack

                  • +1

                    @gotyourback: @gotyourback Are you sure?
How does Shopback distinguish this? Giftcards are added to Amazon general giftcard balance, so how does Shopback recognise it's own purchased ones when an Amazon purchase occurs?

                    • @King Tightarse: @King Tightarse you are right. On Amazon it doesn't say the gift card number used and could be an accumulated value of a number of gift cards, as opposed to Ebay that shows you the last few digits of each gift card.

                    • -1

@King Tightarse: Hey there! Heads up that Amazon can track all the gift cards you use and where they came from. Each gift card has a code or number that lets them know exactly who sold it to you.

                      • @gotyourback: @gotyourback Are you sure this happens when they are in the 'pool' of your general Amazon giftcards balance in your Amazon account?
It seems unlikely - if it is true, it is an extremity strange and awkward system as there is no way to control or distinguish them.

Are you sure we are talking about the same thing:
giftcards that are held in your Amazon account (for purchasing other items) and not the act of purchasing Amazon giftcards?

@noelhoi Saw these offers earlier but hesitant to post as there are several unresolved issues in the last week and some from last month (CWH) for me. Hope they will be sorted soon. Too many discrepancies

    • +1

I think deal still being posted will attract discussions which will help the community decipher the plethora of discrepancies happening within Shopback lately

  • +8

I'm not doing any more of these deals until Shopback sorts their shit out.

I'm spending money I probably wouldn't otherwise on the promise of discounts/bonuses that are not being applied at all, or being applied and then cancelled without explanation. And then the customers are left to detect whats gone wrong and do the chasing and funny enough the mistakes are always in their favour.

    Not good enough.

    • +9

Agree. Bait & switch their t & c to suit their agenda is not how to do business. Shopback need to fix that first. Spent $300, but losing out on $20 (bank bonus) + $20 (ebay 10%) + $12 (ebay bonus), is alot for a transaction I would not have otherwise made.

      • So you confirm recently eBay purchase made using part GC did NOT honour any of the cashback at all?

      • My recent Amazon shop from this last deal is showing a status of Calculating. I think it was a 0% category.

However, the bank bonus tracked after a day.
I suspect it will be magically rejected at some point in time.

    • +4

Omg! I just checked my one also rejected!
But I received the email on last Saturday was tracked! But in ShopBack acc show rejected!

      • me too. Sad.

      • Same here. WTF.

      • +2

Yep me too. 100% St George payment no codes. Ebay still pending St George rejected. Did any one not get rejected?

        • Yes same issue, got the tracking email, then St George become rejected, eBay turns to calculating

      • @gotyourback can you check why all the bank bonus eBay transactions last Friday got tracked then rejected please? Thanks

        • +4

You got it! We're on the case investigating this issue. Don't worry, I'll keep you all in the loop with updates ASAP!

        • Mine still says pending for 3/5

          • +1

@sydney_kings: 3 eBay orders still 'rejected' for bank bonus and 'calculating' for upsized bonus

  • +5

I wouldn’t use Shopback until they got my ebay bonus back.

    • +1

      I couldn't agree more

    • +2

I'm getting nervous about a couple of delayed Boost cashbacks…something's not right with SB lately

      • More staff may have to be laid off for these payouts.

        Decision…Decision…

      • +1

Ah, so it's not just me that's noticed that

      • +1

Had 2 Boost cashbacks that were due 2nd of May which were paid out today.
Sent a follow up email on 3rd, but no idea if that did anything as I never got a response.

        • Got mine approved earlier just now, check yours

  • +1

Make sure to check back later on whether or not you received cashback.

Have had good experience in the past but recently some St George bonuses have not been tracking for me. Literally using in shopback app access to the vendor website as well. Quite disappointing.

  • +7

Shopback dumping Westpac offers just to drive sign-ups to these sub-brands.

    Get bent

    • +5

just to drive sign-ups to these sub-brands.

You do realise that the Westpac Banking Corporation still own all of these sub-brands?

      • +1

I think its pretty obvious they know that by what they're saying - Westpac owns these sub brands, wants to drive all us OzB'ers to sign up to new cards, so they ditch our westpac offers, and make the offers exclusive to sub brands. It STINKS

Also negged for this sh!tty practice

  • Are these online only?

  • +2

Mixed experience with using these bank specific bonus offers. On some occasions tracked fine but others not so, just showing as calculating or rejected for no reasons.

Just not sure if it's worth the effort checking time to time if cashbacks have tracked correctly, then having to reach out to SB to get them rectified.

    • Forgot to add *rectified with a high chance of failure.

  • Has anyone tried linking two cards (eg StG and BoM) to Shopback? Does that mean we'll be able to take advantage from both lounges? Thinking to open a new account lol

  • Is it just me but I can't even see this in the app as a bonus in my BOM lounge?

  • How will the Coles bonus cashback work unless you C&C on the same day? They don't charge the card until the order is picked - prior to then they just put a hold on it.

  • Does anyone know if the cashback will track/payout if I use my monthly 10% off (Everyday Extra) for a BigW purchase?
    TIA.
