  • So 16% off then?

    • +4

Not really, it's store credit not cash, so you still have to actually fork out $300 to get $50 credit, then you need to spend the $50 with them again. Good if you were planning to get something from GG anyway.

The OP should update this deal with this important information !!!!!

  • not bad TV prices !, but remember its store credit…

  • +1

I wonder if this is in lieu of negotiating the price down.
It's been a long time since I got a good discount there, or a cheaper price for paying cash.

  • Let me guess…

    spend $2,400…. get $400 ??

    • it says up to $200 when you buy online so i suppose if you buy something for $2400 in one transaction you still get $200.

  • Shame that it's for online only. My friend just spent $800 on a washing machine in store on Saturday.

    • -1

Have you checked GG's Return Policy?

  • Is this online only or in-store is ok too?

    • would like to know this as well if this can be in store…

  • My parents bought a fridge yesterday in-store. They got $200 eftpos card as well. Can't confirm whether its for their instore only or can be used anywhere.

    • Which store? I will bite if this is available in-store. Still have some gift cards.

      • I think they went to one in Botany, Sydney. I think that's on Orieden Street.

  • What a shame, they've only got the old PS3 at an old price.

  • Online only.
Purchases of Apple, ASKO, Miele, Neff, Jennair, Hoover, Falcon
and Gift Card purchases do not qualify for this promotion

  • It's a shame it's not also instore - this coupled with 12 per cent off for RACQ discount could add up to a substantial saving

    • Cool. I did not know the RACQ 12% discount. Have you used it before? Did it work well?

      • I didn't know about this either. Terms from RACQ website:

*Percentage off is calculated against everyday ticketed prices in store. Personal purchases only and not available in conjunction with any other offer. Excludes finance, Apple, Miele, Asko, Gaming, computers, Gift Cards, pre paid cards and recharge cards.

Does that mean it doesn't work for sale items?

        • Yes, it seems only non-sale items. I was wondering whether it applies to air conditioner installation services.

      • Have you used it before? Did it work well?

No, only spotted it the other day.

Getting much of a discount at all usually out of the local store for cash is like getting blood out of a stone, so 12 per cent will be a huge improvement.

      • Ive used this RACQ discount several times - sometimes in store specials are better than 12% off RRP but on some items that are hard to price match elsewhere it can be well worth it to get below RRP with no questions asked - they often dont even ask to see the card.

Am I missing something here? How do you negotiate? You would do much better to walk into and negotiate the store making the promotion null and void!

      OP is an Apple, actually.

  • 2TB 2.5" Drive .. buy 2 at $187 each get $50 credit .. looks like i know what i'm buying!

      • Ok i just placed my order…

  • Is the 12% off valid for gift cards

    LG 47" lm6700

Claim for the $500 free movie tickets. Buy something else for a dollar and get the $200 gift card.
    Good f'n deal imo

    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/LG_Electronics_47%22…

    • That is LG promo has nothing to do with TGG cash back Pomo? If you get it from HN will sill get the movie tickets.

    • +1

be careful about this promo. limited cinemas only and the tickets are delivered weekly by email and you have to use the ticket within the week.

  • +1

FYI this tv is $200 cheaper than TGG web price. http://www.bigbrownbox.com.au/samsung-ps64e550-series-5-64-i… so why bother to get $200 store credit when you can save cash right away plus free delivery. Unless TGG online can do a price match + store credit cash back otherwise there is no point buying TVs there because of this cashback promotion.

  • can the store credit earned be used for apple purchases?

    • used for anything really… its store credit for anything "in store" we wont be 100% sure until we get the score credit email's .. that are due to be issued no later then 20th November.. :) im waiting on my email credit now

  • +1

Apparently I'm the only one who thinks that buying anything cheaper at the good guys is hard enough to do once, let alone twice.

  • I wonder if anyone still selling Good guys gift card in gumtree? Combining both could be a sweet deal :)

    • I have $350 worth of Good Guys gift cards available.

    • please show me how to combine the two

      • Pay for your original purchase with the gift cards (which you hopefully bought at a discount) and then get the credit back as advertised.
This obviously assumes you can pay for goods online with the gift cards.

        • I don't think that's possible :(

        • Yes it is. I just checked.
First option on the payment page is gift card or store credit.

        • I thought it says not applicable on gift cards

        • Gift cards are as good as cash.

        • That relates to if you are purchasing gift cards then you are not entitled to the offer.

For example if you purchase $1200 worth of gift cards - you DO NOT get the $200 store credit.

        • Well it says the voucher # is not valid on my GG

  • just spent 2k there the other day… argh… !

  • No one knows that you are able to neg price with salesman in store?

However u can't do it online, so it is not that great deal for this one

  • Anyone has any idea if Dyson vacs qualify ? The wording on the website says "and any other agency brands"….

    • yep what does agency brands mean? Are bosch items excluded?

      • Well the full terms and conditions state the brands above, without that agency brands crap, I've saved a copy of the terms and if they reject the store credit claim then I'll whack them with the pdf

    • Just got confirmation from GG web that Dyson does qualify. Phew as got the DC39 allergy in my hands before they replied

dam, just spent $5000 last week

Sweet - Took advantage of my $200 DJ Gift card from AMEX

Has anyone received their 'credit' yet?

    • +1

NOPE!! .. nothing here yet i'm still waiting on my credit. If i dont get anything by tomorrow i will send a request to the GG and then i will call if i still dont get anything i will then call the ACCC :)
