I left spaceship when they started charging $2.50 fees per month. Is it any better/worth it now?

Based on my personal experience over the years with spaceship, for now either directly buy the equity via trading platform or place in the bank.

    • Not worth keeping but worth getting the referral for those that haven’t joined yet.

I got rid of mine once I was finally getting n profit.

This was my plan too but I’m still at a loss. Wondering if I should just cop it and close my account.

Damn, yeah from memory it took me a year to make a small profit. If it’s under $100 it’s not costing you so you might as well keep it.

@bobwokeup: Unfortunately sitting at just over $1k. Started in Feb 21 and it’s been consistently shit since November that year.

      No.
From 1 June 2024 an increase of the monthly fee for Spaceship Voyager from A$2 to A$3.

While I was happy with Shapeship in the past, I can't recommend it now.

CMC Markets dont charge fees on sub $1k buys, so just but ETF's yourself, right?

  • I think I'm up a grand or so on each of their portfolios. I know this is worse than asking Reddit; but worth keeping here vs moving into my mortgage offset?

    • Talking in general here, but usually not due to tax treatment and the relatively high interest rates (assuming mortgage is OO). Suggest you do the sums and work out what your expected return would need to be for shares to be better than your offset, and then is that return likely, factoring in risk.

  • This or HISA for short term gains (1-5 years)?

The whole referral code thing is becoming a nightmare with me.
There's nowhere to add the referral code until you join up (iunless you use an address like https://link.spaceship.com.au/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, which is not the Sxxxxx referral code).
And so far I'm three days after depositing $10 and still trying to get a referral code added. keep going to support and each day they have a different reason why referral code isn't adding yet.
Anyways, not a good experience so far.
