The Jetstar Return for free sale has some phenomenal prices, but I wanted to see if I could find the cheap dates, given they tend to not be EVERY date on their sale. In addition, several OTAs will undercut the price in the hope they'll make more money from their insurance and other upsells.

So I've scanned a bunch of dates for every date range listed on every route on sale. I can't check every single combination so I've probably missed a bunch, but I've listed what I've found anyway. If you find a cheaper one, leave it in the comments so others can benefit. Some dates cheaper flights exist with other airlines; they'll appear when you view the page. Can use filters to select/hide airlines.

Also, if one of the below prices isn't available, try some dates around it - it took me quite a long time to produce, so there's a chance Jetstar has sold out on some of the dates I've found.

    I can't figure out the website. Any link I select above (and when manually search) shows flights from Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh city? Cannot find any of the flights that has been posted.

      Yep, was wondering if anyone else noticed. The wonky clock tower on top of a different building with bogus numbers and the cliffs merging into the sides of the buildings are dead set giveaways as well.

    I got SYD to HKT for March next year yesterday. I want some cheaper flights for around end Oct/Early Nov either Bali or Fiji…..will see what they have over the next couple of weeks. They usually follow the return for free birthday sale with a few others for other dates/locations

      They were scarce this morning when i looked and the dates i did find that were $0, had a 12 hour transit in Brisbane.

    My main concern is what happens if they cancel your return leg due to it being "free", technically they don't have to reimburse you for anything.

      yes, they don't have to but they would still have to provide the service….even if it was delayed due to their issues and if it is delayed over a certain amount of time, then they reimburse for accommodation/transfers (reasonable amounts) to and from accommodation and the airport. That happened to us about 6 years ago. Flight home was cancelled from Phuket due to a pilot getting sick just before the night flight and they had no replacements. Had to stay overnight near the airport, got reimbursed for the costs and flight left first thing the next morning.

    Thanks OP! Booked Brisbane Osaka for two weeks in August for around $1220 for 2 adults, 1 child and one 20kg item of baggage. It's going to be our first time in Japan, will be fun :).

    Hrm, i'm just not that impressed by the pricing from Melbourne any more, once all the extra fees are added I find it's not -that- much more to go with a better airline. Tis a shame, but if people are trying to save as much as possible I guess it's worth it.
