Ooooh - some product person at eBay has been reading all the "eBay Plus isn't worth it" comments on OzB.

Is this the first time it's more than a 2% difference?

    • No, plenty of times there's been a deal like this previously.

      • +4

Oh ok - I just did a quick search and can see a handful of 2019/2020 sales where the difference is 5%, but didn't see any at 7% or more. Maybe my search-foo is bad

        • +1

just going off the top of my head, i thought similar - like most i remember seeing was usually 20-22% .. for non plus and plus

    • +2

i noticed my ebay plus will be expiring in may - knowing me i probably signed up during a shobpack or similar promo where it was like $30+ or whatever credit back or similar. ebay probalby want to try and remind people about what could be missed out on if ebay plus is ditched.

      • +1

Then this may be for you: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/842843

        • i did check (still got a few weeks of membership) couldnt see if i was targeted.

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: A few days before your current one expires, go to your eBay Plus membership and select to cancel, it will offer you a $30 voucher to stay, and if you're lucky you'll also get a $20 voucher on your birthday as well.

  • Is there no items list yet?

    • +5

      Starts 3rd May….

      • +6

I understand, but would be nice to have the list now so that I know if I should wait for the 3rd.

  • There's no chance PS5's would be included in something like this, is there?

    • +4

Yes but price will be jacked before

  • +5

Never understood the point when ebay prices are so jacked up, ie 7800x3d average is like $620+ where as a local PC shop is $588 and this goes for pretty much everything I had on my list.

    • There's a reason why eBay has fees your local shop owner can sell cheaper because they don't have to substitute the difference. eBay fees are quite bad so you'll find that for most things are like that unless second hand which eBay has a better variety of things for.

      • But local shops have to pay rent… They shouldn’t be so different in the end.

    • +1

Do you sell item on feeBay? The final value fee for general users is over 12% now. Also, a lot of these promotions are co-funded, eBay only funds a portion of the discount, not the entire discount, so some stores will jack up the price because they cannot offer their portion of the discount in full for some or most items.

  • +6

im sure everyone is in the same boat, however gpu prices will be highly tracked, hoping to see a decent 4070ti super (<1100) or 4080 super zotac trinity(<$1500) deal

    • +1

A 4080 Super Zotac Trinity under $1,500? Lol good luck with that. Unless I've missed one the cheapest new is $1,999 at CA, and $300 off (max) that put's it at $1,699.

The PNY Super isn't even going to go for below 1.5K.

      • I know, but heres hoping, i have seen it on ebay lower than 1999 for the list price, if they keep it at $1799 list price, with the $300 max saving it would definitely fit the purchase criteria for me

        • +2

think we're gunna have to wait at least til EOFY, and likely beyond closer to 50xx series launches

          • @gazer: Logically i agree, i might skip 40 series and get a launch 50 series, at least i wont feel like its outdated when its end of life.

            • +2

@maverickjohn: no doubt a 5080 will be $2k+ any day of the week at/near launch. But probs worth the $300+ extra investment if can wait til first quarter next year!

              • +1

@gazer: yeah the extra $300 will be worth it, and hopefully more efficient and smaller than the monsters this generation

                • @maverickjohn: Blackwell is on a revised 4NP node rather than a true node shrink (e.g. N3), so I would be expecting modest efficiency gains. Ada was already very efficient though.

Physically big cards aren't going away any time soon - helps consolidate cooler designs and cut costs, and makes it easier to sell mid-range cards for $1k if they look/feel beefy and high-end.

              • @gazer: They're rushing out the 5000 series to keep ahead of AMD. Likely there will be little to no stock at launch and so scalpers are gonna been out in force for the flip. 5080 selling for $3k would not surprise me at all.

    • +1

also hoping for 4080 super trinity deal. the cheaper pny verto card is too big for SFF lol

  • +36

I love coming here to read the comments. Some people (like myself at times) are obsessed with reading comments. For example, you find yourself reading this comment right now, which does not contain any useful information, only curiosity, that drives you to waste your time. Have a good day

    • But can you also line us up with a decent discounted GC offer to use with this sale - to make your name check out?! ha

    • TLDR

  • +1

id like to see 22% stackable on jayo pay 10 pay 6 deals - papa need some petg and silk gold pla

    • You didn't grab any during the last 20% CBT APR sale? They were part of those ones for all their multi-buy listings.

      • I did , but all pla, spread across all colours to set me up, but now I want to do some stuff in petg, and need some gold to do some gift prints

    • That's exactly what I was looking to use it for. I see it doesn't work, at least 'PLUSW15' doesn't.

      Shame.

    • So this doesn't seem to be working for the JAYO filaments 🙁

  • +2

No doubt Jack from eBay will be there to pump prices in time.

    • It's funny when Ebay notifies you that the item has dropped in price and just so happens to be after the coupon expires.

  • +1

Can’t wait for jack to magically add $400 to the gpus before this starts 🤩🤩

  • -2

How to find out an item would be included in this promotion before it starts? 😂 I want to surprise a Jack

  • Hopefully a 4070ti will be under 1k again. Watching very closely.

  • -3

Not sure what the deal was but with the two big April codes I was able to stack them and got like $80 off a new office chair. So give it ago, you never know.

  • Anyone knows if chemist warehouse perfumes are included in this usually or should i just buy now?

  • Shouldn't this be active by now?

    • It is, I can see it’s live

      • Oh no. I had put a cart together already, thinking it would be the same sellers as the recent 20% off, but my stores were not included 😞

      • How do I find the eligible items?

  • +1
  • Steam Deck OLED from sydneymobiles is $995.03 for 512GB or $1153.76 for 1TB.

I think $997 is the lowest I have seen the 512GB?

    • +5

      HODL for tomoz ;)
Little birdie says it’ll be cheaper

      • Low $900s?

        • +1

Maybe, maybe not, someone else will be posting it :)

      • +1

Does little birdie know roughly what time tomorrow?

    • +1

sydneymobiles jacked up their prices first. who would have thought.

  • Whats the PLUS100 code? Seeing that a lot everywhere.

    • +1

Welcome to ebay, where codes exist but you won't know which items are eligible or where to find them.

EDIT: I see you typed the code wrong so I couldnt find it, it is from this deal

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/844042

      • +1

        ahhh ty. yep sorry PLUSW100

        • Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again.

        • PLUSW15 and PLUSW25 are 15% and 25% off. What the chance that PLUSW100 is 100% off 🫠

      • Does this PLUSW100 code stack with SB bonus cashback?

  • This code can't be applied to your order.
    :(

  • You used to be able to use ebay gift cards and still get shopback cashback + the bank cashback, but I'm just not sure anymore…..

Exclusions: "Items paid using any type of voucher or eBay credit"

    thoughts?

    • You still can, both aren’t considered as gift card definition

      • have a read here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15174976/redir

the new GYB claims if they aren't purchased through shopback, it will invalidate cashback….

they are talking about amazon, but you would think it would be for all stores right? confused enough???

        • I wasn’t aware of the new clause with the rep said gift cards must be purchased via ShopBack. That’s definitely new news to me lol

          • @BargainsGrabber: yeah. i actually think the new rep doesn't know what they are talking about. the old GYB has gone (let go apparently)

            • @Repstar: To my previous knowledge, using gift cards for both Amazon and eBay are still allowed

I didn’t see the full terms for that challenge myself as I didn’t have anything to buy during that period so can’t comment whether a new clause for gift card was omitted

              • @BargainsGrabber: FYI I have made multiple transactions on ebay/amazon with bonus westpac/st.george recently and all have tracked USING GIFTCARDS. the chance of them being declined because I used a gift card bought from a different supplier is slim to none i reckon. highly doubt ebay/amazon would reveal that information to a third party (shopback)

                • @Repstar: Exactly, the new rep doesn’t know their own stuff lol
Normally once it tracks and if you haven’t done anything dodgy your cashback would turn confirmed

            • @Repstar: Really? When did the old GYB leave? That's a shame

              • @firestint: few months ago, shopback laid off quite a few staff. i noticed the tone change straight away, wasn't the same GYB I was speaking to! then the information they started to share was highly questionable.

  • jacks busy doing something else…

Ryzen 5700G was $349 this afternoon later when the extra 10% shopback offer started price changed to $329

    was planning $252.22 ($272.22 - $20)

    it's now $236.62 ($256.62 - $20)

    extra $15.62 saving 😊

unsure the opposite equivalent to jack is…?

    • +2

      kcaj

      • lol

    • No giftcards?

  • Waiting for Amazon for better juice squeezed out of their $B revenue.
