Good price, was $999 recently, although if you are looking at a 7900 GRE, the Powercolour Hellhound for $949 has been tested as the quietest and coolest of the lot.
Nitro+ does look cool with the side RGB though.

  • Does the DLSS/RT consideration for this vs a 4070 ti matter at 1440p if you're not playing the absolute latest games?

    • +1

DLDSR is really good for older games, as it is a really good AA method

      • Or it’s maybe possible to just use DLAA.

        • DLDSR produces even better image quality than DLAA and it doesn’t require the game to support DLSS / DLAA to use it - it can be activated on a driver level for pretty much any game.

    • I think if you dont care about any AI upscaling features or RT. This is the card for you. I personally switched to AMD for now from my 3070 because I wanted to save as much as possible and I always found DLSS and RT putrid to look at with frames not being worth the trade off and any game that depends on AI upscaling for decent performance I skip on both console and PC anyway because it just is not the same level of quality.

noice, some other 7900 gres can be had somewhat 'cheaper' if you count a $100 mwave gc as a discount here

    • +5

You would have to wait a month to 'save' $70 on the gpu. Still have to spend that $100 on something since I'm only here for a gpu.

      • yea i dont disagree.

  • I'm really behind on graphics cards.

Been put of PC game for a while. I'm confused enough just choosing processor Can someone bring me up to speed, whats the AMD equivalent of

    3070
    3080
    3090

    4070
    4080
    4090

  • I know it's hard to say but do you think this would be a possible $849 for EOFY?

    • +2

I genuinely think the only way these cards are going is down - stores seem to have boat loads of inventory and prices are slowly starting to slide.

    • +3

They are going down for sure. A higher end AIB model wont be the cheapest option if they are not dropping somewhat hard.

Mwave have dropped the price of the Pulse GRE to $799 effective after cash back

    … high end Nitro+ model…

Pulse and Nitro share the exact same power stage design and more importantly for the GRE, the VRAM overclocking headroom

Buy the Nitro and you're burning $100 for no real world benefit

    • +1

Remember the store credit doesn't arrive for a whole month, so you'll have to wait to purchase other components if you are doing other upgrades/new build.

    • +2

      Not cash back, store credit.

It is $899 for the Pulse GRE and a store credit of $100 to arrive 1 month later.

    • It's up to you if you think the Mwave credit is worth it or not, but @Look Up is linking to a 'seemingly' better deal… why the negs?

      • -1

People neg voted the comment probably because Look Up neg voted the deal (one way to cancel that neg vote on the deal is to neg vote that person's comment(s) on the deal so those comments receive too many neg votes). That said, I was hoping to show Look Up is correct, but when I checked the specs on TechPowerUp (and also quickly checked Sapphire Web site), I got a bit confused.

Sapphire PULSE RX 7900 GRE | Product Page

NITRO+ RX 7900 GRE PULSE RX 7900 GRE
Base Clock 1681 MHz 1358 Mhz
Sharder Clock 2052 Mhz 1927 Mhz
Game Clock 2052 Mhz 1927 Mhz
Boost Clock 2391 Mhz 2293 Mhz
Memory Clock 2250 Mhz 2250 Mhz

Seems like one of them is factory overclocked a bit more (though memory clock is identical). There is a good chance I made a mistake somewhere so I apologise in advance.

I do feel the deal Look Up posted is better ($100 store credit, most people should be able to make good use of it), but also understand why some people might try to get the neg vote on the deal cancelled.

The nitro is the better card. The review I linked mention an argb and fan header on the card itself. Def the more ‘premium’ card. I don’t know what he meant when he claimed the ‘same power stage design’ when the nitro pulls 300w stock compared to 260w for the pulse.

          • -2

@Doly: Yeah, but that review also shows Pulse could be overclocked higher than Nitro+. It is too confusing so maybe get the cheaper one?

            • @netsurfer: A sample size of 1. If you notice the power draw graph right after. The pulse and pure is drawing 300w while the nitro+ is drawing 260w. Literally mentioning at the end that the power draw decreased when it was oced which could have been a bug.

              • -2

@Doly: Well, I didn't post the link. Again, there are bits and pieces people just cherry pick. The power draw, according to the video (which you indicated may be inaccurate) showed pulse can go above 260W when OC'ed. Furthermore, what was showed in the video means that TechPowerUp's specs may not be accurate.

Like I said, confusing. If you are telling me that the bits in that youTube video which show Nitro+ is better, but the bits which show Nitro+'s OC result info is incorrect, it means only parts of the video is correct?
