    It's used the same way as any other USB cable except it has a quick disconnect near the device. The disconnect is rated for many more cycles than the USB connector and port, so people who swap keyboards often (keyboard people are wierd) don't have to worry about wear or damage on their keyboard's USB port

  My Keyboard is wireless, I've a fav PS2 keyboard recent rearrangements made redundant.
  I bought one anyway, I've at least one more mouse mat than I need.
