Already got a couple of Toocki's but been looking for something to use with the perks voucher 🤔

    • I got a Logi bluetooth mouse recently, the voucher covered the cost.

What would be the purpose of displaying wattage, out of curiosity?

    • +1

Because USB C can support 240w for higher powered devices like gaming laptops. However most people with phones and laptops without a GPU have no use over 100w.

    • I guess so that you can see the current charging rate. It's not really that useful of a feature.

Really useful when trying to diagnose electronics to see if they are actually charging. Also really good for testing if a charging brick / device you're charging is charging at the rate it should be or maybe just because I'm odd and find it interesting to see.

For reference, that kind of cables are usually ~$2 on aliexpress, and I got one of these 40Gbps a while ago for ~$6 with free shipping (the total order was over $15) https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006662941696.html

    • How do you get it for $2?

      Showing as US$6 + shipping…

      • +1

The 100W ones like Essegen and Toocki are usually around $2 AUD, the 40Gbps I paid about $6 AUD.
Edit: there are also 80Gbps ones now available, but still too pricey atm

        • No thanks. I prefer to have a local retailer/supplier that I can sue when it burns down the house.

        • Do you have any links?
When I shop those brands I can't see anything like that price unless it's the new user account crap.

          • @dufflover: I can't get the URL from the pop ups. Login and click on bundle deals, plenty of usb and other cables there and if you buy any 3 items you get free shipping, regardless of price it seems.

There is also a sale starting in 2 days, and the usual discounts at the start of each month.

I also see a nice looking 1m HDMI 2.1 cable at the top of my page for ~$3.50 AUD incl. GST.

      • If you have coins available there is a 70% discount bring it to US $3.41 or $5.20 for 2

    • Does it actually do 40gbp/240w? I'm pretty sceptical considering how rarely it's posted

      • I tested it when I bought it and can confirm the speed, but I couldn't even borrow anything that would draw that much power. I can say the cable is pretty thick and heavy, and doesn't bend that much. it's basically a powercord.
