  • Cheers, 22% off hotels…..better get looking and booking.

  • Does anyone have experience with booking a hotel significantly in advance such as for Christmas/NY and getting the upsized cashback?

Given the issues I've had with them for short term things, and that the original Gotyourback seems to be replaced by an offshored copy and paster, I'm not confident it'll be smooth but keen to hear from others.

    • I booked Dec22, for Apr23 and all approved May/June/July. Not one issue. $1500 back

    • I booked in mid last year and travelled in Feb this year, all tracked initially and then approved/confirmed within a week of checking out of each accommodation

    • +1

Booked travel Dec 22 for NY Dec 23 and still waiting on shopback CB. It was with booking.com and never had an issue before. Had to log a ticket and now waiting another 70 days for $100+.

      • Do you have to prepay for Westpac bonus? Few hotels I am keen on only support pay later.

  • Do yourself a favour and ignore this shopback mob, they have breached data, deleted accounts without cause and offer the worst 'customer service' you'll ever have the misfortune to experience!

No 10% + 10% on eBay.. bit of a dud

    • 10% is better than the standard cashback %, and obviously better than nothing!
Calling it a 'bit of a dud' is a little extreme

      • I'm not buying essentials off Ebay

  • Just logged in to OzBargain to comment on this (been having logging out issue with OzBargain lately)

The Westpac component for Priceline is per user, even though ShopBack advertises as per purchase (if it’s meant to be per user, like how Pizza Hut, it should’ve the additional clause “redeemable 1 times” but ShopBack didn’t state this)

I did 2 purchases but only one Westpac cashback was tracked

    • @BargainsGrabber Same

@gotyourback I made 3 separate purchases at Priceline Pharmacy with a Westpac card but only 1 purchase was tracked with the Westpac cashback. The other 2 purchases didn't.

T&Cs: Reward capped at $20 per purchase

@gotyourback Can you please advise as according to your T&Cs, it is not meant to be per account/user? Thanks

    • @gotyourback

Here are the screenshots of your T&Cs for the banks - Reward capped at $20 per purchase:

      • Hey there! Just checked on your Westpac & St. George Bonuses for Priceline.

Here's the deal: There are 2 Westpac & St. George Bonuses offered. One is the usual Westpac & St. George Bonus and the other (screenshot you have attached) is a challenge bonus with same rate offered which is at 15% Cashback, capped at $20.

        • Westpac & St. George Bonus (12% Cashback/ 15% Bonus capped $20 per account): You can only get this once per account.

        • Priceline Pharmacy Challenge (15% Cashback, capped at $20): This sounds like a separate challenge bonus. If you completed it, the bonus should be showing as "Reward Pending" in your challenge status from your account. It'll update once your regular Cashback is confirmed.

The wait time to redeem your Cashback depends on the store (you can check this on our app or website). You can also track the confirmation status in your Cashback overview.

        • @gotyourback Please refer to your T&Cs in the offers that state 'per purchase', not per account. Screenshots as proof.

I would expect a reputable company such as ShopBack to honour your T&Cs advertised. Otherwise it would be unlawful as it is a misleading offer. Your customers will lose confidence in using ShopBack as your T&Cs cannot be trusted. The time spent in chasing the incorrect cashback or non-tracking may not be worth the $ saved.

          • @trixieb: You got it! The bonus in your screenshot is definitely "per purchase" - that's for the Priceline Pharmacy Challenge, not the regular Westpac & St. George Bonus.

Just a heads up, there were two offers goin' on at the time:

            • Standard Westpac & St. George Bonus (capped at a total of $20 per account)
            • Priceline Pharmacy Challenge (capped at $20 per purchase)

            Hope that clears things up!

            • @gotyourback: Unfortunately your T&Cs for the bank bonus for Priceline Pharmacy did not state what you mentioned. I am aware of the two separate offers - bank bonus and Priceline Pharmacy challenge. I've participated in a similar offer with Chemist Warehouse on multiple purchases.

The screenshots taken from the app do state the bank bonus capped at $20.00 per purchase.
Please refer to the screenshots again and there is no mention of per account. This is the standard Westpac & St. George Bonus, not to be confused with the Priceline Pharmacy Challenge.

If that was ShopBack's intention, the T&Cs did not reflect this.

From the screenshots, the bank bonus offer capped at $20.00 per purchase would be considered a misleading offer according to Australian Consumer Law as it does not mean per account. It would be unlawful for ShopBack to reject the cashback when customers made multiple orders as they were misled to believe it's per purchase.

Here are the screenshots again of the bank offers taken from the ShopBack app and a summary in case you missed it:

              • @trixieb: Hey @trixieb, could you drop us a DM for us to assist you on this Cashback Bonus. Thanks!

                • @gotyourback: Sent DM. Thanks

                • @gotyourback: @gotyourback hi GYB, same issue here. I was watching for the Westpac tracking and noticed tonight the terms ichanged to "per user" but didn't say that previously. I'll send you a DM as well, thanks

                • @gotyourback: @gotyourback I've got the same issue with St George bonus for Priceline. Please assist.

                  • @ganjadeals: @elecpurch could you drop us a DM for us to assist you on this Cashback Bonus. Thanks!

            • @gotyourback: Would like to know the same for Westpac bonus for Expedia as well. From the page it definitely said per purchase, not per person/account. Would be good if you could clarify this.

              • @GiaoGiaoGiao: Hey @GiaoGiaoGiao, Just checked on the Westpac Bonus for Expedia - it's offering at 2% Cashback Bonus and capped at $50 per transaction

                • @gotyourback: Yeah sorry I meant yesterday’s 10% bonus. Was that per transaction or per account? Cheers.

                  • +1

@GiaoGiaoGiao: @GiaoGiaoGiao Just double-checked that 10% Westpac Bonus on 24th April - yep, it was capped at $50 per purchase/transaction not per account. No worries!

        • We were in the same situation please fix for us as only 1 westpac bonus came? We DM you with the account details. Thank you.

          • @henestto: Hey @henestto! Sorry for the trouble! Yup sure, could you shoot us a DM with all the details such as email, amount etc for us to help you on this

  • For eBay do I have to pay full amount using westpac card?

    • Yes, if you want the 10% Westpac bonus

    • +1

Hey @Shikha966, Don't worry, you don't have to pay for your entire purchase with your Westpac card to get the Westpac Bonus. As long as you use your Westpac card for some of it, you are good to go!

Just a heads up though - avoid using any promos or vouchers that aren't listed on ShopBack, and it's always a good idea to skim through our Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) on https://www.shopback.com.au/ebay-australia to make sure nothing messes with your Cashback tracking. We wouldn't want any surprises!

      • Looks like I stand corrected. You learn something everyday!

      • Thanks
