BWS clearance search..still useless.. well, not working at all for beer at the moment.

    • +13

i mean it works in the sense that it can show you all the things you can't buy at any store anywhere on earth but that theoretically could be sold at some other BWS, perhaps in a different solar system?

      • I can't see anything at all. Just a blank page.

        • +3

you arent missing much, even when it loads it just says "find me nearby" on every single item, which is never findable anywhere nearby.

          • +4

@Iggemo: Need the Coles and BWS IT team to sit down and have a hard look at each other!

      • +1

perhaps in a different solar system?

How far from Earth are we talking? 🤔

        • +1

  • Anyone tried Great Northern Ginger beer?

    • +2

It smells amazing. Flavour is okay. A decent ginger without being outstanding. Just wish it tasted as good as it smells.

  • Annoying you can't order overnight for click and collect, would rather put the order in now

    • +2

Why can't you do that? I order one day and pick it up days later all the time.

      • Said click and collect not available last night at my two local stores

Think you have to do it during open hours

I'll be able to order today and pick up Saturday though

        • Had a similar issue last week. Not an issue on the app so I uysed that instead. Just wierd you cant do it online all the time…..

  • +3

bws is a bit false advertising, once you saw the item on special login and add to the cart, price jump back to RRP.

  • Can we use a BWS discount coupon ?

    • No mentioning of the use of eGC or EDR$ now. It invalidated cashback before.

      • Was thinking the same thing about eGC because doesn't say it is excluded

        • @gotyourback can you please confirm whether the use of gift cards will invalidate Cashback

          • @nicholasv: Hey Mate! unfortunately no, you can't use any Gift Card or discount coupon that is not advertised on ShopBack

This is because any usage of Promos or Vouchers not featured on ShopBack will not be eligible for Cashback

            Hope this helps!

            • @gotyourback: Gift card isn't a voucher in the normal definition and other Shopback sites explicitly list gift cards as not being able to be used. I think you need to make it clearer on the sites

              • @nicholasv: Thanks for the heads-up! You're spot on - gift cards deserve a clearer explanation regarding Cashback eligibility. We've updated the terms on the forum to reflect this.

                • +1

                  @gotyourback: hey gotyourback,
I purchased using a gift card. I checked the terms before doing so and they were not excluded. Its pretty unreasonable that the goalposts change half way through a Promo. A purchase was made based on the Terms & Conditions at the time of the sale. Would appreciate if we could perhaps continue this via a PM.

      • PM'd GYB. See if he responds before the deal ends.

    • No, can't use discount coupon. It's mentioned in the terms.

  • +3

Still weary of using St George card on last two Pizza Hut deals one had to be put in manually and still fighting with Shopback on the other with a lot of evidence and emails and wasted time

    • +1

Emailed @gotyourback gave me advice as to what to do regarding evidence DID it all yet Shopback rep has not put on the $10 St George card credit since April 6 with MANY emails
I know it is only $10 but that is sometimes the reason we buy their recommendations
Will post regarding issue till they rectify

  • 100%(+ 20% +10%) cashback on Kirin Hyoketsu 4 pack for those missed 100% + 40% cashback.

    • +3

      Isn't this just a "maybe" 100% back.

  • Champagne included this time!

    Good for multiple purchases?

    • +1

@scanuck I wanted to buy champagne but it has always been excluded and still is. I just checked:

Quote: These items are not eligible for Cashback:

Champagne, Penfolds & Non-Alcoholic purchases (unless stated otherwise)

      • +1

The problem is all the terms & conditions have been added at a later time. This morning, I doubt there was an exclusion

      • +1

They weren’t there when I posted!

Apologies if anyone got burnt by this

        • +1

same with the Gift Cards. No exclusions this morning and then Shopback have suddenly added them so we have purchased under false pretences

        • @scanuck @mouseman99 Haiyaa! When I saw your champagne comment, I thought it was too good to be true 😀
What's bizarre is why the original standard BWS T&Cs were not visible this morning. I didn't check earlier though

        • +2

Aarrrggghhh!! Champagne was DEFINITELY NOT on the exclusion list when I purchased at 8am this morning!! Just picked up my order. But now I see the T&C’s have been changed and new exclusions have been added, with champagne now being excluded! NOT HAPPY, SHOPBACK!

          • @GroovyT: Wtf! Did you take a screenshot this morning? Best to contact gotyourback. Note this is a new gyb, based on the comments in the last few days. Doesn't sound like the gyb I know in the last year

            • @trixieb: No, I didn’t 😔 Didn’t think they’d change the T&C’s halfway through their promotion period! I’ve sent a DM to GYB.

            • @trixieb: GYB replied and said there’s nothing Shopback can do about it. That BWS would reject paying out on the purchase so Shopback wouldn’t be able to honour it either. 😠

              • +1

@GroovyT: BWS paying or not paying them isnt really the issue. Its their error that lead to this so Shopback must accept some kind of responsibility instead of deflecting the blame

              • +2

@GroovyT: As @mouseman99 mentioned, it is ShopBack's error so they have to take responsibility to honour the original T&Cs advertised at the time of your purchase.

You are from Melbourne and here is some info from Consumer Affairs Victoria.
It is unlawful if ShopBack isn't providing the cashback as offered this morning (before they changed the T&Cs later):

Quote: When supplying or promoting goods or services, it is unlawful for the business to offer rebates, gifts, prizes or other free products without intending to provide them, or without providing them as offered.

                https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/consumers-and-businesses/pro…

                • +1

@trixieb: Its like buying a car at the dealership at 9% APR in the morning and then in the afternoon they secretly change it to 18% and then blame the car manufacturer

                • @trixieb: A bit hard for me to escalate this further when i have no screenshots as proof that when I made my purchase, these exclusions did not exist. It never occurred to me that Shopback would change their T&C’s on this promotion midway through. I’m sure Shopback’s internal records would have evidence that they added these exclusions to their T&C’s after-the-fact. But I don’t have any proof myself so there’s very little I can do about it besides be pretty friggin unhappy 🤬

                  • +2

@GroovyT: There has already been admission on this page by a company representative of the error.

                    • @mouseman99: Only in relation to the gift cards. No admission about changing the t&c’s to exclude champagne midway through the promotion period

                  • @GroovyT: There is evidence on this page - OP's post which does not exclude Champagne and scanuck's comment that champagne is included.
I've had similar experiences with ShopBack last year on my Amazon and Target purchases. Received the cashback eventually after several email exchanges with support ([email protected]) and expressed my disappointment at ShopBack's lack of integrity. Original Gyb didn't help and I emailed support

                    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14654590/redir

              • @GroovyT: Definitely not the old GYB then.. he always made good with any of their mistakes with a manual credit.

I would submit a claim to Consumer Affairs anyway, if nothing else for the good of others in the next deal error.

                Takes all of 5 mins.

The nature of the deals are spontaneous purchases, so the t&Cs have to be right from the get go.

          • @GroovyT: Can concur - was so excited to come and post this for the community

      • Thanks for pointing out they altered the terms after the deal was live.

I had to cancel my order.

I had screenshots but I am not going to waste my time arguing for $20.

        Very poor form from Shopback.

Thanks to scanuck for the OP in any case.

  • Sorry I can’t find it for BWS, is the westpac 10% extra?

    • Yes seems so but the westpac
One is capped at one a user

      • Thanks

  • +1

So with the StG/Westpac extra, would that be an extra $20.

So for example i buy something for $100. Standard cashback of 20% is $20. If I pay with my StG card will I get an extra 10% or is the $20 limit the total?

    Anyone know?

  • 120 day claim. Has it gone up?

    • +1

BWS has always been extremely long

  • dont get trapped into this

    • +5

order for collection and then dont pick up if its doesnt track???

  • +1

Does anyone know if u can use the westpac and St George one separately if u have both cards

  • so gift cards are accepted now?

  • +1

their search function is still a crock

  • Trying to pay with a GC and getting an error about Connectivity issues being experienced. Anyone else?

  • Is only the Westpac 10% capped at one order? I want to do two for the 20%

    • @gotyourback are multiple orders for the standard 20% allowed?

      • Hey There!

        Just to clarify:

        • Westpac Bonus: There's a limit of 1 bonus per user. Think of it like a one-time thing!

        • 20% Cashback Offer: This sweet deal applies to multiple orders per account, but there's a cap of $20 in Cashback per order.

        • Awesome, made 2 orders

        • Once forever or for each promotion?

  • +5

Doesnt track cashback and they refuse to give the cashback even though you follow every step perfectly.

Adblock disabled, never clicked of the page, cart was empty before clicking through and provided receipt.

  • +4

Finally! was running low and had been waiting for another one of these deals. Tracked every time for me for a number of years now. Just get good.

  • Scamback

  • +1

Just throwing it there that I've never had a problem getting my orders confirmed and getting cashback.

    • -1

u just dont collect if it doesnt track

  • Rarely tracks with shopback. No issues with cashrewards.

  • How long until the tracking shows? Ordered an hour ago and don't want to pick up until i know.

    • Based on comments on the last couple BWS / Shopback promotions (and my own experience), the tracking comes through overnight. I purchased nearly 4 hours ago and no tracking yet. I'm expecting it to come through overnight again and plan to pick up tomorrow.

      • yeah i ordered super early in the morning and no tracking yet. That being said i've had to lodge many a claim for BWS so wouldnt surprise if this is another one for that list

        • Shopback app or chrome?

          • @killabob: neither, firefox on PC

i never use the app tbh, i prefer using my desktop PC for things

    • Ordered in the afternoon and tracking came through overnight for me.

  • Good deal for Roku!

  • +2

Don’t do it, I ignored the previous warnings about it not tracking and yeah they were right. These excuses saying to accept all cookies now? I’ve never had a prompt about cookies after logging in!

  • +1

It seems this issue is still lingering, and see previous feedback from @gotyourback
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/807859#comment-14473048

It appears issue is with BWS and not Shopback.

Anyways, now I'm in a waiting game for tracking
    12:14pm order placed
    1:18pm order arrived

    • tracked at
      12:12am: $20
      3:45am: $15.65

  • +1

Will give this another shot with the 20% off on a small purchase and will see if the St George lounge tracks. Last time it didn't and SB provided absolutely no help. Really gone downhill since GYB changed people.

Regular cashback tracked and they didn't care about the bonus cashback because it had "tracked".

  • Rolled the dice!

See what happens, it's been a couple of hours so far and it hasn't tracked…

    • Got the cashback tracked email at about 4:30am. Yay, it worked.

  • Why am I seeing Westpac sign on the bottom when I went to BWS from the St.George Lounge?
Is this going to be an issue if I use the St.George card?

  • +1

I have negged this deal based on them changing the T+C’s after launching

    Very poor form

    • What changed exactly?

      • They excluded champagne after it started (witnessed first hand by me)

From reading other posts excluded gift cards too

        • That raises a food question - why is champagne often excluded?

  • -1

Times are a changing seems like in a few deals lately on Ozbargain comments Shopback has not honoured their cashback. Are they going to follow Chedder and get out of the game ?

  • Dahhh shit ..
are they still doing that 'you can't even order online after they close BS'? About to find out..

    • yep

      • Deal has expired op.

And @GYB take note…BWS deal is done way before midnight…even for WA.

You waste your time going through Shopback and BWS (Basically Without Stock). Negative experience.

        • @tunzafun001 ShopBack can end deals earlier than advertised. Last Nov, Westpac/Target and Coles offers ended several hours earlier AEDT. Original GYB posted the deals. I had to contact support to fix which was a PITA

    • Yea what is up with that!???
