@triple675 usually, you'd be spot on, but that discount isn't currently active on our site! Gotta keep things fair for the regular customers πŸ˜‰

So you've just literally just posted a "deal" that is a discount reduction of what was available prior to the deal? Doesn't that sound a bit shady to you?

Anyway, prices aren't even competitive: https://www.amazon.com.au/15-high-Speed-Travel-Registration-…

        • +1

@HomebrewFC OZB25 was an old code left over from our birthday sale; it was still active and unfortunately got uploaded to a few coupon websites, so we had to deactivate it! There'll be lots more deals throughout the year; so if you'd rather wait for a larger discount and go with another option this time, no worries πŸ˜„

Any idea what kind of 4G speeds to expect? Seems like the networks have quite variable speeds!

    Also noticing some errors…
The "Japan eSim" features says it the uses the Docomo network.
Whereas it's quick info tab says they use Softbank network (copy/paste job from the "Unlimited Sim"?)

    4G/5G is not a speed, that's a network technology.)

No mention of what the unlimited data sim's speed is after limiting/2GB.

    • @Charcoal we mention multiple networks as all our eSIMs will connect automatically to the strongest network available, depending on who has the closest cell tower πŸ“Ά You can expect 5G speeds in most places. If you do happen to swap the 4G network; you'd still be be looking at between 100-150 Mbps

  • I need to make phone calls, any suggestions?

    • +1

@Kammi sure thing - A great option here is to use data apps like FaceTime, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or Skype to make calls/texts instead. πŸ“±

Also, if you have a phone with dual-SIM capability, you can usually use your Aussie phone number to receive texts and calls, while using our eSIM for data.

For Apple devices, you check out the configuration steps here

Or, for Samsung/Android devices, look here

      -Cariad

  • Hi OP, any promo for South Korea? Heading there next week.

    • @R3tha I reckon we could work something out for you! I'll send you a message πŸ“§

      -Cariad

  • OP how does eSIM work with keeping your original SIM card in your phone? You don’t have to take your SIM card out? Please explain.

    • @Ozjoey most modern phones will allow you to hold 1 x physical SIM and 1x eSIM at once. You can then choose which you'd like to use for your voice line (receiving calls/texts) and which for your data line in your Settings.

You can see a run down of the steps for Apple here

And the steps for Samsung/Android devices right here

I ordered an eSIM last night but still haven't received an email with the QR code. I've checked my spam emails and nothing there. I've tried contacting support via email and online chat but have not received a reply yet. Wondering if you are able to help on here? Thanks

  • +1

@SimsDirect can you please respond to my message regarding the Japan Unlimited sim and why 5g doesnt work. Seems like false advertising if it doesnt contain 5g (on the Simsdirect website says 5g/4g), this is the only reason why I bought a sim from you guys.

I have a samsung s24 ultra and in osaka and kyoto there is no 5g activated. Power saving is off and 5g enabled.

  • +1

BUYERS BEWARE. No response to my 5g inquiry. Wife got capped using instagram on "unlimited plan" (no she wasn't using excessively - only to browse). I suspect Simsdirect is falsely advertising their plans
