About this item
The Matt Heafy Custom series builds on the 2 standard Modern voices of the Fluence Core, adding a distinct Voice 3 to each pickup for true, crystal-clear single-coil tone.
Neck Pickup (Alnico) - Switch between 3 voices: Modern Active High Output (1), Crisp, Clean and Fluid (2), & Single Coil (3).
Bridge Pickup (Ceramic) - Switch between 3 voices: Modern Active High Output (1), Modern Passive Attack (2), & Single Coil (3).
Includes 2 push-pull pots, 2 standard pots, and all components required to achieve Fluence standard wiring scheme.
Available in 6-string (humbucker) and 7-string (soapbar) sets.
I'm fairly certain that these are identical to the standard Fishman Modern Fluence's (without Heafy's name) - these are great and have become my go to when comparing to EMG 81-85's and SD Blackouts (I have all 3). They are probably one of the hottest pickups I've played on.
I like the multiple voicings with the push-pull on my FGN JIL Iliad which practically lets me choose between having either an 'active' or 'passive' humbucker sound as I mainly play heavy music. I usually like passive sounding humbuckers as they sound and feel a bit more natural but I really like the active mode on these and just stay on that, it's very tight and punchy.
I don't have experience with installing this particular set as my guitar came with it but it will definitely require some knowledge of electronics (and possibly soldering? Someone can clarify that). Can always take it to a professional guitar tech to get it installed.
