I recommend the Raspberry Candy, its REALLY good. A la marzocco deals mentioned that roast, I tested a 200g pack a few months ago and I'm hooked.

Its not the cheapest beans but this roast is very profile rich

  • I'm getting $70.40 how do you get $48 for the raspberry candy

    • same

    • +1

I suspect op referring to cheapest option starts from $48/kg. E.g. Aspen / maple etc

      • Correct.

  • Ona is top 3 coffee roasters in Australia, I recommend this!

    • Which are the other 2? Keen to try!

      • +2

Wood and co and marvell street

        • Thx will check em out

        • Code Black is better than both of those IMO, Proud Mary used to be up there but has recently dropped off with their offerings.

          • -1

@NedStark102: Code black does a medium to dark roast, do you like burnt coffee?

            • @Spennyrich: What? They probably offer one blend that fits that category to cut through milk drinks, but I only drink lighter roasted single origins (which is the majority of what they offer)

      • Aldi Medium Dark and Aldi Medium

Sure…but gee…you pay for it. $48 a kilo would be the most I've ever spent on beans if I was hitting this.

Not that I don't want to try it…but I've just made an Inglewood order and nowhere to keep any more, so…

    • What about Rubra coffee?

    • +1

I would love to see where the ranking is made and what it’s based on.

Personally tried ONA, can’t say it’s my cup.

      • +1

Agree. Tried a some of their different roasts a few years ago, didn’t enjoy them at all.

      • Do you add milk to your coffee?

  • Thanks been waiting for a sale

  • Raspberry +1, good for iced latte, too.

  • Good deal. 20% is rare on ONA.

Maple is my favourite as a daily. really like Aspen as a daily as well.
for some weird reason, I prefer to have Raspberry only every now and then.

Ona coffee was started by Sasa Sestic, who won the World Barista Championship in 2015. They do some great coffees, but good coffee isn't necessarily cheap.

  • +1

Remember that Ona do 200g bags, not 250g for some reason…
Also, they overroast their beans like most popular Aussie roasters. Still good enough, but even though I buy their filter roasts and use for espresso, it's still a medium-dark roast. I've never found anything from them that I would consider a medium roast.

I left this in my cart for a bit while I thought about whether I really wanted to spend that much on delivery since I live nearby. Anyway they sent me one of those welcome emails with a 10% discount code that stacks with this offer.

    • Nice, maybe signup with new email for a promo code.

    • The website has a popup for 10% off. Just need to give them email address. And yes, it is stackable with this deal.

  • Thanks OP, picked up a bunch!

  • +1 for Maple - long standing staple (maple) at our house.

    Good deal, thank you.

Thanks but I'll stick with Aldi beans for less than half that price. Tastes amazing to me.

    • Have to say, I just recently picked up some of the Aldi single-origin since I kept hearing good things about their beans. Pretty ordinary. Ok for the price I guess. I am still dialling it in, but my impression thus far is that it's a bit bland with no complexity whatsoever and a very mild flavour.

I think if I put it through a cheap high pressure machine and gave it to friends and family who don't know any better, they'd probably be happy with it. Better if you can brew it hotter I think.

I'm sure I'll get some better pours from it over the coming weeks, but pretty much every bean I've ever had from a small roaster beats it IMHO.

Roast date was a month before purchase - certainly well past the very best. Not sure if it's any better if you catch it in store sooner…probably a little. I was remiss not to check when I bought it.

If it floats your boat though…that's great! Unfortunately for me I'm spoiled already. You can do much better at around $30 a kilo though.

Their beans are overpriced. I used to buy them from a local cafe before they changed the name of their beans, I think it was around $36 1kg. I guess they were passing on their wholesale price.

$88 is ridiculous for raspberry candy. I just finished a bag last week imo shouldn’t cost more than $60.

If you like it give redbrick rogue a go, they currently have 20% off your first subscription which brings 1kg down to $56

    • Thx will tryem out

    • Yep, redbrick is IMO better than Ona and cheaper.
