But that was only for 24 hours and a lot of people didn't see it in time, so very useful for those who missed it as this is actually a decent game.
I was one of those people
me too
Not me!
Thanks anyways for the post OP.
Very awesome giveaway
note.. this is not The Outer Wilds.
Cool what other games is it not
Fallout or Starfield
It's also not Tetris, Chess or Baldurs Gate 3. I've checked just then.
For those interested, I determined that it wasn't Tetris because it didn't have the sound track nor the little blocks. I tried 1. e4 and they didn't let me, hence probably not Chess. I was taking my time in combat and died, and no one tried to sleep with my character 30m in, hence not Baldurs Gate 3.
@Papa Huggies: wait it ISN'T Baldurs Gate 3??? This is clearly misrepresentation and FRAUD. How do I get my money back??????????
Thank f for that
Thanks for my first laugh out loud moment of the long weekend.
Thanks! Are these forever free? Don't recall them coming on giveaway
I assume they're always free, both of them mention they have loot boxes on the store page and the 2nd game is tagged as nft block chain, I'd avoid them.
Oh, I'm playing this through XGP on PC at the moment! It would be great if I can transfer my save game to epic for the DLCs. XGP game does not include the DLCs
Spacers Choice Edition has some serious performance problems that the original game didn't have.
I didn't like this game. I got lost then realised there was a lot of grinding to do. The story was interesting but overall this game wants too much of my time.
Really? I found it very grind less. Just doing the various character storylines were very well written and removed any need to grind.
Same here. I didn't find it very grindy at all. Neither did I feel that it was going on for way way too long. In fact, if I recall correctly, I resolved way way way more things that I usually do in other games WITHOUT combat. I thought that was pretty good.
Also, in case it will help anyone else, this is my 2nd playthrough. I got rid of my first because I kept hoarding everything and inventory management became a pain that turned me off the game. This playthrough, I just played without a care and also consciously not min-maxing. I just enjoyed the ride of the story.
Can add a third vote to that. If anything, there wasn't enough grinding. Feels like half the game takes place in the first two settlements, which is over pretty quick and yet still not enough to explain what was the problems with the tuna.
Great game but I'd class it as more of a "Rage" than a Fallout 3, in terms of gameplay hours
@outlander: Yeah, I started it on a Friday night and finished it on a Sunday morning. A great game but I felt like I wanted more… OTOH I never went back and bought the DLC.
In library, thx.
Thanks
For reference, how do you know it's going to be added? I can't see any 'upcoming' field or anything on that page?
they check the API or something, might need to google about it
Is this multiplayer? Looking for something to play with my bro who moved to the other side of the country.
No it's not. Checkout the game A Way Out (not free, included in game pass tho)
Really? I felt the opposite. Granted, I haven't finished Starfield , and quite admittedly enjoy it. But after putting in 50 hrs, it gave me the itch to play Outer Worlds again, and I felt that Outer Worlds was just tighter overall.
…nah
This is loads better than Starfield.
Just a FYI to everyone. This spacers choose edition runs like 💩💩💩. The original runs better as obsidian didn't so this updated version it was out sourced and they screwed it up big time. I had to get the original version by other means as it won't update to this rubbish version
Had to do a quick search to understand what you were talking about but yep, consensus is that this version is shit. lol @ the absolute state of """AAAAAAA++++A"" games.
so many micro stutters even with FSR…
the old version didnt have FSR but couldn't work properly with GSync on UW screens…
I heard about this too and even on a fairly high end machine (7800X3D + 7900XT) I noticed it got laggy at 1440p. Couple things to note:
Biggest quick performance uplift was dropping all settings from ultra to very high. Bit sluggish on ultra but seems way smoother on very high and looks almost the same. I also disabled chromatic aberration and motion blur.
Leave 3D resolution on 100% but enable FSR helps a decent bit.
Install to SSD so it can stream in assets without as much stutter. I don't have a HDD to test but I can imagine it doesn't work well.
Speaking of stutter from what I gather a lot of the complaints online were from the launch version or first couple of patches, since the last updates it is meant to be better. I've only started playing so have no experience with older versions. I am a few hours in, completed the character creation, tutorial area, and started exploring the first town. I haven't noticed any annoying stuttering which I would normally pick up on. Here's hoping it doesn't start stuttering anytime soon…
as much as I love Obsidian and how they how good of a job they did with Fallout New Vegas, I could not get into this game.
It felt just as unpolished and janky as NV (albeit stable) which can't be excused this time, and the characters I met early on were so over the top and Borderlands-esque with pretty weird vocal performances that just felt a bit cringey to me.
I've heard good things about the worldbuilding and lore but I just could not get to it unfortunately.
hang on didn't this come out during the Christmas free games last year? it looks like its already in my library, I don't' buy games on epic so I know it has to be free.
Same, didn't even know I had it, just another OzBargained game I'll never play! Maybe one day when integrated graphics are powerful enough to run it!
Yes, it’s a repeat title but apparently during Christmas it was only available to claim for 24hrs so this way everyone gets a fair crack at it.
Did they ever fix this because it was bagged when it came out for having weird graphical issues and people said it looked worse than the original. The original looked great and it didn't need a remake. OTOH if I'm going to replay it, should I play through this or just replay the original?
This still looks worse than the original and performs worse but on the other hand this version includes all of the DLC. I think some users have created a graphics settings file/script you can apply to it to fix up the issues though.
In the end I decided last night to replay the original which I have on steam and it turns out I do have the DLC thanks to some bundle or other. The game looks great, and no FXAA blur like a lot of recent releases. It’s definitely a product of it’s time, but as I said, it did not need a remaster 3 years out.
(I originally played it day of release on gamepass)
For the anti-aliasing it has forced TAA, you can disable it with INI tweaks, here are the instructions:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Outer_Worlds#Anti-alia…
You have to disable both TAA & Bloom or you get weird flickering.
Scroll up a bit from there to get the instructions on setting a custom FOV if you desire.
Further down the page are instructions on how to center the crosshair and disable mouse acceleration.
They gotta start handing out steam keys
… why would Epic, promoting the Epic store, do that?
this game is esg influenced. esg is cencoring gaming, movies and other platforms. why hasnt anyone in this thread mentioned this yet?
I’ve been replaying it and I didn’t remember it being as bad as it is in that regard, but you are right. But it’s still nowhere near as bad as recent games. The women do actually look like women, for example. Rough, girl next door types mostly with feminist haircuts, but nothing like the man-faced abominations of the last couple of years.
Also, breaking news, It's called BRIDGE now. For a little while they were calling it JEDI (no joke). These people love their alphabet soup which matches their maturity level about right.
Thanks for this info. I had no idea who was behind this industry trend. Found this interesting video about it on YouTube:
Most of us aren't huge whining babies
Pretty sure this is a repeat offer.
