  • Hi OP, any deals on a Duo Floodlight (PoE)?

    • No, sorry.

      • I'm keen on this one too. Hopefully one day a good deal comes out :)

    • I haven't seen any decent prices since Black Friday.

  • +3

Code: 24AN05 for another US$5 off

    • +2

OP never shares the codes in their deals even when told. At this point I feel like negging since they want to rip us off.

      • I didn't know about that deal. Thanks for sharing @RichardL

        • Your buddies at Reolink need to be more transparent ;)

        • The anniversary sale codes are plastered all over their listings. Not surprising as dealbest does the same.

      • I agree.

    • I just tried to edit this deal to add this coupon code but it won't allow me to.

    • I tried code before buying and it didn't work for me :(

    • To enter the code, make sure you press the enter key on your keyboard at the end of the coupon-code before pressing the Apply button.

  • How does one get a network cable to their front door? must be limited options for retro fitting this to a house.

    • Brick vaneer houses will have enough cavity to drop a cable. I had a sparky run 6 cables for $650 incl materials… Cash

    • fairly easy to do if its a double brick wall - just ran a cable down last weekend to install one, used the existing hole from the ancient doorbell/intercom.

    • +1

I bought one of these 2 months ago, when it arrived I looked at my brick veneer door way and how far I’d have to crawl through the obstacle course that is my multi-vaulted roof to run the Ethernet and how I’d get it out of the brick..

Suffice to say it’s still sitting in the box.. I don’t know how Sparkies do it everyday, apprentices I guess

      • Its easier if you have a single story house, you can just open up some roof tiles, get the cable down, sparkies usually have some kind of rod to push the cable.

        • +1

sparkies usually have some kind of rod to push the cable.

          They call it the "tongue".
Used by both electricians and cablers.

    • It's a bit of a hassle but once it's done it's there forever and you don't have to worry about batteries and WiFi.

      • Wifi needs power cable

        • It doesn't need a power cable. It uses POE. Power over Internet. ie. It is powered via the ethernet cable.

        • Comparing to other brand doorbells that have batteries

  • The wifi version is also for $89 Aud after coupon use

  • Is the wifi version battery powered or do I still need to connect power to the bell?

  • Does the wifi version suffer from Google assistant lag? My nest door bell has 5sec lag at least

    • +2

Do you have a source to read more about this?

        • +1

The irony here is heavy for someone who tries to portray themselves as a 'PhD in switches.'

If you had set up your network the way that Clear had mentioned specifically for internet facing cameras, it wouldn't matter in the slightest because the gear would be in a DMZ and there would be no risk to your trusted network. But you wrote that off as irrelevant, whilst at the same time giving yourself whiplash by asking how to set up a DMZ on an Asus router that can't handle one.

In fact, the irony is so heavy it's amazing the floor hasn't collapsed from under you. Unless of course you're posting from the hole that you just keep digging deeper.

I look forwards to your comments. Maybe one of them will prove worthwhile. But going on recent experience, I doubt it.

      What's your source for this?
If you don't have a legit source, please kindly don't post BS PSAs.

      • +2

Don't bother replying to him. In the Keeplink switch deal he said you need a PhD to understand switches, said a switch is a security device and when challenged he tells you to Google.

        • 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for the heads up, mate.👌

          • @[Deactivated]:

Of course a switch is a security device. You don’t even need google to tell you that! smh

            🤣🤣🤣

Love your unsubstantiated claims. Surely they could infiltrate your network WITHOUT requiring push notifications

  • Can't believe I paid $160 for this last year

  • Out of stock :(

    • I was advised that they still have stock available.

      • +1

thanks ordered, showing in stock now

        Used promo AE5ZNAF

        • Thanks, used this coupon too and it worked.

  • Any chance the AU plug comes back in stock? @julancer

    • +1

Only need the plug for the chime. Which you probably dont want if using homeassistant or something similar

      • Yeah, AU came back in stock anyway and figured it wouldn't hurt to have the right one.

        Thanks though!

  • I ordered the wifi version. Still in stock. $55~ USD after the coupon

  • Great price, mine is still on the bench from a ~$150 deal. Still trying to find time to finish installing it.

  • Says the AU plug version cannot be shipped to my address but all the non AU ones can? This appears to be specific to the POE model and not Wifi for some reason. The only part that requires an AU plug is the chime.

  • They still have stock available.

  • Delivery says end of April, is that reasonable if it says delivery aus to aus?

    • Mine said that but was delivered within days. Already installed and integrated with Home Assistant to simulate the Nest Doorbell display when someone presses the doorbell

      • I have Google Nest Hub (2nd gen). Can i do the same? Care to share how?
