  • Whats the difference between QL120 and SP120?

    • SP120 are their basic bitch fan with 8 LEDs. QL120 are their TOTL fans with 34 LEDs in light loops

      • Damn it now I'm annoyed my corsair AIO fans only come with 8 leds each

        • QL120 (34) and LL120 (16) are special juiced up fans with more LEDs for people to decorate their fishbowl with (especially the QL120, since it has dual light loops on both sides so it still looks good when used as intake for side-intake fishbowl cases like the O11D and its clones). Else 8 LED is standard for Corsair RGB fans

          • @[Deactivated]: I know, but now i feel "standard" 😂

            • @meong: I suppose I'm about to make it worse then, since if your AIO came with SP120 then you're not just standard, you're now below standard xd. The AIO models that ships with SP120 are meant for builders, they're lower cost version with some corners cut (pump RGB is treated like another fan, no iCue support out of the box unless you splurge for a Commander or Lighting Node). The customer is meant to feel somewhat substandard with them and spend the $80 on the Commander Core to get full Corsair RGB ecosystem support.

              • @[Deactivated]: Its this one though… It came with ML120, so I suppose not too bad?

The rest are just the default fans that came with the Lian Li case which why I'm thinking of upgrading for RGB puke factor

                • @meong: Ah you're fine then, I thought you were asking about the SP120 because that's what came with your AIO.

AF120 are fine then for your case (heh), and its the cheapest one they sell as well. SP120 are static pressure fans (i.e. behind a radiator), AF120 are basic bitch airflow intake/exhaust fans. The AIO comes with a Commander Core which allows for mixing and matching different fans of different LED counts though if you do end up splurging for these.

Corsair actually replaced the ML120 with AF120 on the Capellix XT line, they're worse fans for cooling the radiator strictly speaking but apparently their LED effects looks better than the ML and that's the selling point for these AIOs anyway. The SP120 is like the bottom of the barrel for both categories.

Corsair fans are crap compared to Lian Li or Phanteks. I invested big into the Corsair eco system because they were universally praised. How disappointed I was by the end of it.
    1. Fan air flow is average at best
    2. RGB quality is poor. Dark shadows are visible between the leds . Not properly diffused/lacks sufficient leds https://images.app.goo.gl/b3FKzEGbZHuggFtk7
    3. Poor quality control. Stuck LEDS. I've had to return 3 of them.
    4. Wires absolutely everywhere. Especially when you start adding hubs.
    5. It is not clear what hubs you need.
    6. Icue has been terrible for years

I finally donated the lot after Corsair advertised their "next generation" fans which touted daisy chaining. Big whoop. Congrats for being a generation late.

Get Lian Li or Phanteks. Better Rgb, Air flow, simpler eco system and no iCue.

    • I just checked video reviews ans you're right, the led separations are visible.

I have the Corsair AIO and the led fans (ML120) that came with it don't look like that at all!
