  • Thoughts on this monitor? I'm just expecting comments that complain about it being VA and say the Dell is better.

    • +1

To compare I suppose the following is important

Dell better colour accuracy, faster response time

Dell HDR600 vs LG HDR10 (LG brighter with HDR)

LG has USB-C, Dell does not
Dell has G-Sync, LG only adaptive sync (doesn't really matter)

This LG has kind of low contrast ratio for a VA panel, 2500:1 when average is normally 3000:1

One more thing to consider would be quality control, LG is usually pretty good. If you go into previous deals on the Dell there's multiple people saying they had to get a refund or replacement for dead pixels etc. Which is a bit concerning in terms of longevity.

      • Thanks, very balanced comparison there!

        • Unfortunately can't seem to find a review easily on this monitor to see if it has smearing or ghosting issues, my experience with newer VA monitors is that they are "IPS-like" and also have deeper blacks. Although the 2500:1 contrast ratio is a bit concerning just because cheap VAs have 3000:1, difference might be negligible but if LG cheaped out there I'd be worried the panel in general isn't great.
