  • Awesome find, impact and batteries are worth that, the case and drill are bonus round.

  • Does anyone know if the drills work with the XR Flex Volt 54V batteries?

    https://www.dewalt.com.au/product/dcb547-xe/xr-flexvolt-9ah-…

    • Yes it's all compatable

      They are 18/54 v

  • Thanks OP. Got one.

  • Great find. Paid $399 for a similar kit but with 3 X 4ah batteries.

  • This or hammer drill combo kit from bunnings https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-2-piece-18v-brushless-com…
The bunnings one is just 1.5ah batteries and $57 expensive. Is it worth for hammer drill function?

    • Is it worth for hammer drill function?

Are you going to use it? $56 extra, smaller batteries and a fabric carry case(which is basically landfill fodder in my humble opinion).

      • But in terms of equipment you get an extra hammer drill. Isnt this bunnings deal therefore much better?

        • You aren't getting an extra drill. The deal posted is a regular drill, the one asmith84 post is the hammer drill, so unless you need the hammer function specifically then what they posted isn't a better deal than the original one.

  • Can this drill be suitable for hanging a tv wallmounted set and curtains in a double brick apartment? Or should I just get something cheaper?

    • If into brick…..you're going to have a lot of trouble going thru it.

      • A good drill bit will do it. An electric hammer drill will do it much quicker..

      • +2

Absolutely true. I thought masonry bits would be sufficient but eventually burned out two bits for just installing a driveway light. Later tried a hammer drill with masonry bits - it drill through like butter.

    • +3

Cheap Ozito SDS will drill like butter into bricks. With this one you will struggle even with an expensive bit! I learned the hard way!

      • +2

Agree. SDS is lot easier on masonry.

    • I use this no issues, unfortunately not on sale at the moment but does come up once in awhile:

  • great set unless you have other eco system garden tools.

Got this kit quite a while ago from Costco. Generally nice to have. But I found hammer drill and 5Ah batteries are better combinations. 2Ah batteries in this kit is a bit too small, and driver drill just won't cut it when you need to install stuff on bricks (I'd say a pretty common case for home use).

    • Is that just a case of purchasing 5Ah batteries separately? Looking for a good entry level kit and this ticks a lot of boxes.

    • -1

The impact drill is fine for brick for home use. Battery size makes no difference to how powerful a drill is, just runs out quicker.

Make sure your using masonry drill bits and the drill is in hammer mode.

      • +2

Driver drill does not have a hammer mode, while impact driver (not impact drill) is for screws not drilling with masonry bits.

      • +1

Depending on the tool, the battery used can have a noticeable impact on performance. Larger batteries and the new pouch cell ones have less voltage drop under load than these little 1.5ah or 2.0ah.

I'm not sure how much of a difference, if any, there would be with these entry level drills/impact drivers. It's more noticable with grinders, circular saws, impact wrenches, and their higher end drills.

  • This is an excellent deal

  • Folks, why not this for $99 instead? I know its a 2.5 singular battery but for $99, that's 50% off.

    Thoughts?

    • +1

I think people consider dewalt tools to be step up than ozito
Dewalt posted here is brushless, comes with 2 battery, and has 13mm chuck size compared to 10mm in ozito you shared.

      • Thanks, makes sense

    • Dewalt brand is far superior to Ozito.
