Yep, discussed here.
i recently started a (more serious to my standard) workout, considering to buy some protain stuff like this. i have no idea which one i should go with, is this one good? or something like musashi from chemist warehouse?
International Protein Synergy 5 is great Protein… can get it from Chemist warehouse for just about as good a price as Sportys Health website.
Get Optimum 100% Gold Standard from Vitacost for any general needs. WPC from Bulknutrients.com.au is also decent. I also take Optimum Hydrowhey from Vitacost after working out.
Never ever buy anything from an Australian retail shop including GNC and Chemist Warehouse. They are grossly overpriced.
thanks. will do :)
Careful! Creatine is NOT PROTEIN! Just like Milk is not Water…
Depending upon what you want to achieve, creatine may be counterproductive.
Do not go buying supplements without knowing what it's for!
If you're trying to LOSE WEIGHT, or perhaps a martial artist needing to stay at a particular lean weight for competition, Creatine isn't what you're after. .
There's my warning, now read the experts :

Quote :
One thing is almost certain: If you take creatine, you'll gain weight. While the initial gain is water (about 2 to 4 pounds in the first week of supplementation), subsequent gains are muscle due to the increase in the workout
The catch: This only happens if you take advantage of the boost in energy and hit the gym.
Otherwise, it is just water weight

the pt sets a program for me basically focusing loosing fat on lower body (running and cycling) and building up muscle on upper body (resistance and weights)
my target is to slim down at lower body and puff up a little bit the chest, arms and shoulder. so losing weight is not what i am currently after, but losing fat and building muscles are.
loosing fat involves losing weight
It forces ur body to use fat for energy rather than glucose
somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that running and cycling would more likely make you lose overall bodyfat than just give you slim legs? ie, bodyfat doesn't decrease based on which part you work out?
also thought that building muscle is better for losing fat.
Correct,
You can't choose where to lose fat
It is true that muscles are better
But I doubt he wants to look like a bodybuilder
Your 'pt' is an idiot - you can't target fat loss. Also running, cycling etc wont make you lose weight in your lower body only. It will burn calories which depending on your daily intake will either leave you losing or gaining weight.
I think from his description, he wants to look 'fit' and I would say that what he's aiming for, is, to one degree, what a bodybuilder looks at one stage or another!
also, someone else has said what i didn't want to say. you should probably find a different PT if that's all he's doing for you
i know, spot reduction is impossible. i agree. i will use other PTs next time.
yes, i do want to look(and be) fit in a slim-fit shirt or jacket.
Thank You, ordered,
Vitacost is becoming the Bunnings of supplements for me. I cant leave without buying something.
thanks, i also bought my first item off vitacost :D

I've expired the deal as the link no longer works, item removed from the site. Oddly the item still comes up in a search but when clicked on, same result.
If it comes back, just report the deal and say it's working again and a mod can unexpire the deal.
Interesting. I thought shipping to Australia was either around 3 dollars (under 3lbs) or around the 30 dollar mark (over 3 pounds).. Have they changed their rates?
